    I saw Tishibwue when he went to high school. He always wanted to go to Kentucky but didn’t get a offer there so he went to West Virginia. Toppin's athleticism and scoring chop was better, even if he's a bad defender whose combo of scoring+athletic still wows NBA team.
      Hield is a surefire talent with high floor and low ceiling, thanks to his shooting and age. Like Garza had bigger bust potential than Hield, who at worst are one of the better 3pt shooter in the league.
      Garza had that awkward stat where he's not too athletic to made teams salivating, also not a good enough shooter to be a high floor player, like of the 3, he's like no 2 in almost every single trait, while NBA prefers either specialized player or uber athletics talent.
      And this kind of player really get shunned unless you improve your 3 or your defense. This season, Drew Timme is one of the best bigs this season, but he had big chance to go undrafted, as bigs who are not a shooter+bad defender+no athleticism+ heavy on-ball playstyle simply had almost no value left in NBA.

    I really think that 2011 the national player of the year shouldn't have been Anthony Davis or Draymond Green. It should've gone to Thomas Robinson of Kansas.
    Anthony Davis Averages: 14.2 points per game. 10.4 rebounds per game. 4.7 blocks per game.
    Thomas Robinson Averages that year: 17.7 points per game. 11.9 rebounds per game. 0.9 blocks per game.
    Pretty similar stats, so the difference for me would come down who was important to their team's overall success and for me Thomas Robinson was more important. Kentucky was loaded that year and didn't need Davis to score in order to win. Kansas needed Robinson to have a big night every night in order for Kansas to be successful. Case and point was the National Championship game that year. Davis ended that game with only 6 points and 16 rebounds. Robinson ended with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Kentucky still won the game by 8.

    • @stonecoldku4161
      @stonecoldku4161 Год назад

      @@cursedassyeet Where in my original comment did, I say "ignore" 4.7 blocks per game? If I wanted to "ignore" that stat I WOULDN'T HAVE PUT IT IN THE COMMENT! I said that Robinson's and Davis's stats were "similar". Robinson in fact averaged more in the other two categories that I mentioned. My main point in my original comment was that Robinson was more important to his team's overall success than Davis was. Davis could have an off night and Kentucky would've been able to still beat the majority of teams. If Robinson had an off-night Kansas was going to be in a lot of trouble with a quality opponent. And if I had a vote considering how close the stats were Robison would've been my POY.
      And I wish that this video would've mentioned Robinson's name alongside Draymond Green's. Hell, doing so and showcasing Green's and Robinson's stats that season, would've made the fact that Davis was named consensus NPOY even more impressive.

      You know why it’s unfortunate, small market teams need to work 10x harder to get anything success wise out of their Star Draftees. AD went to the playoffs twice in 7 years. Zion has a better core than AD in his best years so it’s better now, but let’s not act like not everyone felt bad for him when he came in due to the team he came to since people wouldn’t sign with them unless given a lot of money (Asik the Center) or traded (CJ Mcolllum). With the team he has now he can do well in the West. But coming in he had a lot going against him

    A 22 or 23-year-old kid cannot develop and get better?.......... That notion has always been mugu ridiculous to me. Everything is in reverse now. Back in the day, the majority of all of the all-time greats........ Even the Tim duncans and Grant hills of the world, came into the league as better players because they had three and four year college experiences......... And everyone of them went on to be even better players.......... And young kids coming into the league was shun.... And now they put wild pressure on 19 20-year-old kids to be great right out the gate.... Everything is in reverse now.......

      Yeah it’s just a different meta nowadays. I myself don’t entirely believe in that. But nowadays like you say people don’t even stay in college to get better, they go to the league and go against the best and be the best. Rarely nowadays we see seniors and Juniors come in from College and dominate to just make the notion more true and just gives GMs confirmation bias. Plus they won’t be prioritized if they are older in the league. But I definitely agree with you. But there is a reason for it nowadays
