They had huge altercation in previous interviews hence he had no questions for him. Justice Makaula is very strong human beings
Was it necessary for Justices Maya and Petse to attack and humiliate Judge Makaula? Could they not have argued during deliberations why they thought he wasn't fit and proper for the position? By the way, have you noticed how they structure questions to their preferred candidates?
It's politics
They had to put those questions to him because they are not allowed to raise issues during deliberations that they did not raise with the candidate in the interview. The questions you label as attacks are meant to determine the person's suitability. Some SCA candidates like Judge Meyer had smooth interviews because they performed well during their SCA acting stints.
