I like how the captain eating chips offers a kind of commentary on the captain doing everything else. All of the lols in all of the land sir. That was a great video. Informative and entertaining, 10/10 would recommend.
As a former member of the Military (Both Army and Navy) may I make a boot recommendation. A really good Boot for HvZ would be a pair of Police Patrol boots. Things like Hi-Tec Magnums or the Walmart knock offs. These boots offer the support of a normal Combat Boot, but most of the boot is made of breathable material. They also offer more support for those who need to run as well. They also come in both Steel Toe and non-Steel toe varieties. I would not recommend getting Jungle boots. You can find these at most Army/Navy surplus stores. These boots have a steel plate that runs from over the toe, along the bottom of the boot and over the heel. These boots were built to protect the wearer from things like Pungy sticks during the Vietnam War. They are heavy and very uncomfortable. And the steel plate under your foot will start to hurt, no matter how many insoles you put into them.
Captain Xavier: make sure to watch till the end of the video it really helps RUclips creators. Also Captain Xavier: eats a bag of Fritos for 3 minutes on camera at the end of the video
For nerf wear, "combat" wear, and work wear, I can't recommend Duluth Trading Co. enough. They are well worth the elevated price. Their seams and pockets are double or triple stitched, and the fabric is durable as old boots, yet flexible and comfortable. They'll last you years. Dry-fit shirts and the like are great. You're gonna be sweaty and you want that to wick away. Don't forget batteries too. Blasters, lights, and phones run on them. So loose batteries, chargers, and power banks are important. As far as boots go, don't cheap out. Timberland Pro boots are great and so are Lock Laces if you dont want to waste time tying laces. As far as lights go, Streamlight is good, surefire is great but way to expensive to justify, especially for nerf. O-light is cheap and plenty good enough for nerf. As far as belts go, you can't beat an actual duty belt for carrying weight. Whether you're carrying a dump pouch, holster, full belt rig, or just carrying a bunch of stuff, it'll do way better than any other kind of belt.
Captain Another well executed auxiliary video. I love the content and the message. We all should strive to look at things the way the Captain does. Keep the great stuff coming. I can't wait for the next one. Bangarang
Now I'm thinking about a 40k esque Battle Chaplain costume with pistol, hand-carried banner, camelback under the doublebreast and random encouragement of inconditionate violence
Excellent work Captain. Not only is this video informational, containing crucial tips from a professional, but also very funny. This is the content I expect from you, and you always provide.
Oh, that was great! I really needed a lift like that today. Thank you. Genuinely had me crying with laughter at some points. I might have to go and eat pickles to re-hydrate from loss of tears... Judgemental snarky Fritos-eating Captain pauses were appreciated so I could catch my breath in any case. Two points I can entirely emphasize from personal experience (at least from an Airsoft-skirmish perspective - I have yet to take part in a HvZ) : 1) Drills before the event whilst wearing gear / equipment - I did not do this, and during the safety briefing my tactical vest / sling gave way, awkwardly dumping my primary and secondary weapons onto the ground. After I'd gathered my thoughts, re-evaluated my entire life, and everyone had finished laughing at me, I spent the rest of the day constantly re-tying and re-fastening the vest to ensure it didn't happen again. 2) Hydration - during the Summer months, after a long 'capture multiple Macguffins' battle, everyone was recalled to the briefing area so the scores could be calculated. It was then noticed that one person was missing, and was not responding to radio calls, cellphone or shouts of their name. The whole crowd began searching the site (probably 7-8 acres of mixed woodland, housing, etc.) and after a while the person was discovered passed out in undergrowth. Kudos for being in a prime sniper position... but loss of kudos for having to be collected and re-hydrated by paramedics. Great guide as always, Sir.
Captain Xavier, My kids and I are starting to get into Nerfing as a family hobby, so we're watching a lot of older guides like this one. I just wanted to let you know that they think you're hysterical, and loved this particular video a whole, whole lot.
I found the bag of chips very entertaining. Nice job on that. As an Airsoft MILSIM player I really appreciate what you had to say towards the end about expectations. It applies to any sport really. If you have a squad, good communication can do wonders. As far as gear goes, affordable / decent quality items players may want to look into are AK chest rigs made by Condor. Usually they run around $20. Their pouches (including dump pouches) are well constructed and reasonably priced. They also have fairly cheap battle belt setups. Eye pro is one of the most important pieces of gear in my opinion. It can ruin your day if you can’t see anything. My suggestion: if you want an actual lens, spend the money on high end goggles with a fan like ESS turbofans OR add a fan to a pair such as Revision Desert Locust with an Action Fans Cyclone Mike kit (what I have used for many years). This is coming from a person that has played airsoft for a decade for entire days in all types of weather. The fan makes a huge difference. For Nerf I would think mesh goggles would be ideal. Great video.
This really does help explain what to wear, and thinking back on it, knowing this would have helped me when i hosted nerf stuff in my neighborhood last year. Edit: fun attitude is a must, not being overly competitive, not being overly serious, but serious enough, is as perfect as it can get
11:30 - 11:42 LMFAO You kill me Cap! And the end ... lmao omg. Awesome video, loved it! Thank you for the advice, especially for those of us who entered the hobby/habit during a pandemic; nice to get some good info on HvZ games all around for when we can start having them again.
This was a great video. I think I can use most of the tips and advice in this. Though, as a former scout myself, I have to say that I am absolutely in total agreement with the part where Captain Xavier says to stay hydrated. Also. If you have beverage bases, don't mix them in your drinking bottle, use a cup. And a good pair of shoes/boots is also a must. A little tip that Captain Xavier forgot, and which I learned the hard way. Reverse your socks before taking the footwear on, you do *not* want to walk or run on the stitching, that way only lies blisters and hurt feet.
One of these days I’m gonna role up to an HvZ event with NVGs for the night missions. Just gonna stay out of the light and pick off zombies from the dark.
I drank a bottle of water and ate some fritos while enjoying this well crafted and informative video, thank you for all the work you do for the Nerfing community.
This guy is awesome he takes it seroiusly and instead of laughing im sitting there freaking awed at how he explains this stuff and how he makes such good content have a good day!
Lol thx Captain Xavier I already knew and could’ve guessed most of that stuff from watching you and a lot of other Nerf RUclipsrs for over a year now but I always watch all of your videos because they’re so entertaining thank you so much for contributing to the community
Capt, I know of several spots near Ft. Benning, GA that you can embrace the southern weather. :) Loved the cuts to the chips. You have a wonderful sense of humor.
Great video Xavier, hmmm reminds me of Robin Williams and his many talents. I love to see how you would tackle Juggernauts and how they are involved in any foam flinging wars. During some moments I was waiting to see someone come out from behind the Dart tower and shoot a round off. Great video and will be waiting to see what you come up with next.
Be Me looking for the first aid, Everyone who watch this video, "what first aid?" Jokes beside I do think everyone should carry some first aid, so people don't have to walk around cut or bleeding during the game.
11:50 I know what The Protagonist is gonna wear… The Protagonist is what we call one of my friends. He’s gonna wear a jester hat and probably dual wield Turkeys and Ragnaroktoberfest. I’m very excited for that
I'm diabetic, so I always have 2 backpacks. One for the nerf stuff, one for snacks and various water/drinks. Thanks for your recommendations, because its fairly amazing
What is this guy!?!?! This is just one of those RUclips benders. I wasn't even planning on watching anything about nerf ever again... But the dead woman's pickles have driven me to subscribe.
Yeah I have to say the two HVZ I have been to. That socks are banned, along with all throwing weapons. On the plus side since it was private land we where allowed to barricade the buildings on site. So me and my buddies where Scavenger squad we collected pallets to be turned into boards by carpenter squad. Needless to say the zombies where quite mad at the Pallet Palisade we made around home base.
Great Degwin, that was hilarious. By hook or by crook, come Hell or high water, I WILL fight beside you at PSU. And it will be MAGNIFICENT. Also silly. *Graham Chapman voice* "RIGHT! STOP THAT! Silly... and a bit suspect, I think..."
Due to no nerf events on my area I've been big into paintball and all these tips and tricks I've heard for playing that. On the water though I buy a 40 pack of water bottles to share while at games.
Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer eats the chips at the end while watching bowling and it just goes on and on. For some reason I can't look away.
Off topic, but one day, when I have the supplies and factors to learn 3d printing. There is one thing I want to make. Ah yes, a .45/1911 series. already have a concept in my head.
Red head insoles from bass pro shops are the best insoles And can confirm dehydration is no fun and you can't do anything when you're dehydrated stay hydrated kids
I highly recommend either smith and Wesson breech 2.0 or ranger boots they are good for running or walking and you dont have to break them in they feel amazing out of the box. Also quick on and off with a side zipper.

Tiny Cap at 11:43!
Well spotted!
How big is the tiny xavier? Ive scanned the screen over and over and cant find it
It's pretty small. Not a literal cap but a doll. I won't spoil the place.
@@lauradarkez I weep for you. That is the only hit you'll get from me.
I Think i See It

Every time I rewatch this and see that I get hungry for Fritos since that's what he's eating and I like Fritos myself..even though they are flammable.

This is a character select screen for a game where all the characters are Capt. Xavier. I love it!
The fiddler on the roof parody had me DYING 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent work Captain. Not only is this video informational, containing crucial tips from a professional, but also very funny. This is the content I expect from you, and you always provide.
Who knew we needed asmr chip eating from the captain Bangarang (crunch)😂
I'm proud to say I have 2 human wins under my belt (both week long game wins too!)

You are the most creative channel I will maybe ever see. Love the content Captain Xavier! You bring me joy in every way!
Especially the chip part! My favourite!
My camelback was a lifesaver at endwar, as I sweated a ton. I also kept a water bottle to share or refill just in case.
I maintain that the best piece of gear I have ever purchased for HvZ is my hydration pack, that thing has been extremely useful to me.
"these are a dead women's pickles -SNORRRRRT-"
9/10. You didn't throw the empty chip bag at the camera...
Throw food waste? What do you take me for, a savage?! ;P
One of these days I’m gonna role up to an HvZ event with NVGs for the night missions. Just gonna stay out of the light and pick off zombies from the dark.
May your editing skills improve even further, well done sir
I drank a bottle of water and ate some fritos while enjoying this well crafted and informative video, thank you for all the work you do for the Nerfing community.
1:16 "Wotta'ya buy'n?"....am I the only one that thought that..especially given the subject matter at hand?
As a Pre-Med major, I was LAMO at the foam heart and brain! Keep up the good work Cap!
Keep up the good stuff cap, these guides are a must see! I get my first taste of Hvz this upcoming fall as I just got accepted to my dream college!
This guy is awesome he takes it seroiusly and instead of laughing im sitting there freaking awed at how he explains this stuff and how he makes such good content have a good day!

Never before have I laughed so hysterically at what is essentially stock footage of a man eating crisps
I feel the exact same way."Use spit! It cures fogged lenses!"Like hell it does. You just wanted me to SPIT IN MY VISOR!
Capt, I know of several spots near Ft. Benning, GA that you can embrace the southern weather. :)
Loved the cuts to the chips.
You have a wonderful sense of humor.
Mesh! Thank you Captain, I instantly fog every pair of eye pro I try to use and I have searched far and wide for a solution.
The Captain leaning and judging should appear in the rest of the series. He was the highlight of the vid.
Lovely! Just the right ratio of silly to actually information provided in a entertaining way (the S to IPEW ratio, very tricky).
Hey, IPEW too! Usually IPEW at zombies!
Okay, that was fantastic. I really needed that humor today, thank you Cap! BANGARANG!
Yo Captain looks like the cool dad that everyone loves and finds funny
I prefer "cool uncle." ;P
I love how you make learning fun good work very informative

I love the warm weather clothes, "Auxiliary merch below! I see you looking at them calves."
This video is just excellent, informative and silly 😂
Love it!
This may be the best video you have ever made.
My high school dream would be seeing my school's music department (band and choir) perform O Fortuna
This mans personality gives me laughter.
I love your sense of humor
sir, you are a master of physical comedy and i love you
I brought one of those giant jars of huge pickles to a larp once and they were gone before you could spit. Plus theyre immersive!
Be Me looking for the first aid, Everyone who watch this video, "what first aid?"
Jokes beside I do think everyone should carry some first aid, so people don't have to walk around cut or bleeding during the game.
i'm with you with the fast fogging glasses...
I am still enjoying the laughs and so is my friend that doesn't nerf
I watch this and I hear "get some boots" and I realize that I only own combat boots.
13:12 that was my idea a little while ago. Happy to have a good batch of foam brains, just need to mark them so they can return at the end of the day.
The Fritos munching adds to the comedic effect
11:50 I know what The Protagonist is gonna wear…
The Protagonist is what we call one of my friends. He’s gonna wear a jester hat and probably dual wield Turkeys and Ragnaroktoberfest. I’m very excited for that
Love the merch plug at1:26 lol
Loving this happier and sillier CPT X! thank you for your content!

Every game is different. It is what makes HvZ such an awesome concept.
Amazing video cap especially because of your awesome b-roll which added some nice humor (and asmr) to the video!
Informative and enjoyable. Always enjoy a good video from our favorite captain.
Great Degwin, that was hilarious. By hook or by crook, come Hell or high water, I WILL fight beside you at PSU.

Great vid cap! This will come in handy in the future as I plan to go to my first event very soon.
like the sneaky Dr. Who reference.

Capt I recommend getting hiking shoes or trail runners for the more on the go type of people.
“You should eat the pickle until you mo longer have the desire to eat the pickle” lmao

Best ending ever
You are amazingly entertaining. Keep up the awesome work!
What the Cap doesn't know is that I am...the Frito Bandito. I love Fritos corn chips I love them I do. I love Fritos corn chips I steal them from you! X3
TRAIN!!(just being silly)
Ben Rogers I strongly agree.
Hail Hydrate!
"Since EndWar 2020 is gonna be at PSU"
I'll take "Things that aged well" for two hundred, Alex...
Hydration is no joke. Day one of Endwar 2017 I drank nine liters of water and three gatorades. Still almost got dehydrated.
I approve of your choice of chips
Hey captain, I'd recommend a small container of poweraid powder. Tip a tiny bit into a water bottle. BAM nommy electrolytes
A note on hydration, don’t overdo it. There is such a thing as over hydration which can turn into water intoxication which can be life threatening. You shouldn’t drink more then 1 liter or about 30 ounces in an hour. Of course that’s a lot but just be careful. Also if your not thirsty your not at risk of dehydration, your body naturally tells you “yo you need water man” and if you have ready access to water you in essentially no risk.
Idea- A HvZ event where, about halfway through, there are vaccine drops from drones in boxes sporadically across the map. Then, you can either use the 3-4 vaccines inside on a zombie coming at you to revive them to a human, use it on a zombie who was just tagged to keep them alive, or use it on yourself to get extra zombie tag points (no immunity obviously, just 2 or 3 more tags from a zombie to take you down.
I have played games with similar mechanics. Cures, revives, vaccines. They are fun.
You need a train conductor hat for whenever a train goes by!
Yes!
