My absolute favourite thing about James is how emotionally mature he is. I know there has been lots of talk about his feelings lately, but if you've been watching this family for a long time you know that James seems to be a kid who understands the importance of and enjoys putting his family members before him when they need it. He's not a pushover by any means! Just look how firm he is with the little ones. But he knows that sometimes some family members need a little more love and he's happy for them to get that. The way that he instantly knows what brands and flavours his siblings enjoy in terms of snacks just shows how much like Alicia he is. He's a wonderful big brother and will be an even more wonderful father someday!
James pays attention to his Mother you can so see it
One of my favorite qualities of James’ is his Loyalty to Family. Both his biological family and adoptive family. He would give the shirt off his back if they asked for it.
@@DoughertyDozen 💙💙💙 James is a great kid and his so funny
Well said ❤️
@@Nancy-yg9cm yeah I didn’t say where it’s at for a reason I just hope she gets to it before a trolls see it
Oh my goodness James is such a well mannered young man. Hes so helpful and polite. The number of kids his age (and adults to be fair) that dont say please or thank you in general conversation is astounding. Hearing James being so naturally polite and eager to help is a massive credit to him and your family.
even his voice is SO SOFT!
agreed
I've always admired James such a astounding polite and helpful man indeed. Need him to come to Hawaii so I can grab him for one of my granddaughters. Aloha James. God be with you in all you do.
James is literally an angel. He’s so caring, well mannered and very respectful. Who wouldn’t love him!!
James is a GREAT big brother!!! He knows ALL the kids "favorites" and looks out to make sure they all get hooked up on shopping trips 😁 that's great! And what a HUGE help for you having his reach top shelves and lift all those drinks!
I agree. Such a sweet kid
So far James is my favorite (although one shouldn't have favorites, lol). He's so consistently helpful, kind, and polite. Like at 12:12 where James remembers that his mother likes a specific kind of fruit snack. I also appreciate that Alicia gets the kind of fruit snack that the kids like, not the kind that she likes. It's fine to get treats for yourself as a parent, but pushing your own tastes onto your kids too much just breeds resentment.
These grocery hauls are strangely addictive, I’m like sitting in the kids’ seat in a shopping cart while mom pushes me around the supermarket
Right! I don’t think I spend 3k in 6 months for my family if 4, but watching all the stuff I could buy 🧐
Yessss i love riding along too. Just watching what we get for a week!!!! Its sooo fun!!!!!
And just loading up the cart with all the fun stuff you see! I find these hauls really so enjoyable, relaxing, and addictive. I always root for Alicia to find the elusive Caramel Macchiato coffee creamer. I do grocery delivery because I don't like shopping, but man- love me some DD hauls.
This one is so so long, an hour and 25 mins
This is not addictive
James is such a great helper with shopping! He even knows what the kids like and don't like. I really enjoy watching him help you. He's a great teenager.
I didn’t realize he knew every kids’
favorite snack 😭😭
@@DoughertyDozen you have some really great kids, honestly 😊 I love them all so much just from your vids. Only 1:33 into the video so far, but will definitely be watching the whole thing lol
He is so caring, he made sure that each of his siblings got what they like and don’t
@@stefanielieb5258 it's really not. People don't always want same thing for a snack. I have like ten or fifteen different snacks in my room. Also non perishable food stays good for a long time
@@caryn9953 really u love there kids that's creepy
I heart James’ voice. He sounds like the perfect mix of kid and adult. Just when I thought one of your grocery shopping trips couldn’t get any better and you have James riding shotgun, lol. So cute, Alicia!
🥰🥰🥰
@@DoughertyDozen hi😁
Yeah! James future youtuber!
He reminds me of tj from recess 🤔
I always think James seems like a great young man.
James is going to be an amazing husband and father one day; I can just tell. “I can find one.” I mean it almost made me cry how helpful he was and did it so eagerly.
This reminded me of shopping for family beach trips for our group of 14 and we filled an entire cart with just loaves of bread.
My thoughts exactly!
Awww 😢
I hope so too! 🧡🧡🧡
I know right? He sounds so sweet and attentive
@SunflowerParadise Diary what is your problem
Watching James help you and acknowledge what you go through every week around the 40 min mark when you were getting the 4 carts, So thoughtful!! You got a good boy there mama! Good job! and your hauls are always addicting to watch, i dont know how you do it! Super woman, full of love, changing lives! Thanks for being you!
Growing family. 18 count chip box gone in 1 meal
James is such a gentleman. I hope my little boy grows up to be as well spoken, gentle and happy to help his mum as your son!
James is such a mature child, he oozes so much emotional maturity. The kids are lucky to have a big brother like him. Bless his heart
🧡🧡🧡
I love how James is taking into consideration of what the other kids like! You have some great kids and you’re an awesome Mom!
Thank you so much!! 🧡🧡🧡
James is such a great helper to you! He’s always willing. I know I’ve seen the other kiddos do the same, but James seems to thrive on helping out! ❤️
IKR? I was thinking I need to borrow him when I go grocery shopping! Lol
I didn’t record it but later he said he never realized how much I go through every week just to provide groceries for the family and how appreciative he is that I do this every week. 😭😭😭
@@DoughertyDozenhe's a sweetheart!!
@@DoughertyDozen Aww bless him such a sweetheart
Awww, he’s so sweet! You are such a wonderful mama with such sweet kids!!
Grocery shopping without considering prices, or looking for sale items has NEVER been my reality!! Not knocking this lady AT ALL...its her money to spend as she wishes...but these shopping videos of hers fascinate me! Not gonna lie I think im addicted to these videos! 😂
Agree. I'm completely fascinated that, even though she said there is 16 people on this vacation, that they would need some of these things for just one week. Like the huge thing of laundry detergent or the gallon of olive oil. I have a family of only 6 and a gallon of olive oil would last 6-8 months, and I cook with it A LOT! LOL
I wonder if this could potentially be an issue for the kids? Understanding budgets and money management skills is very important to learn early in life. I was a bank manager for many years and was always impressed with clients showing their kids money management skills at early age.
This is little of topic.. but with Naveah and DeShawn being temporary in her home until there mother is situated .. buying all these expensive gifts etc... they are going to get used to it .... then what?? When they go back..
@@audrey7994 so they are supposed to be treated differently? They seem to be treated pretty equally as far as I can see

My brain has a hard time wrapping itself around how much it takes to feed your family for a week when starting from scratch...how about an end of the week "what was left over" video short? Lol
P.S., James really is so sweet and always so eager to help. So endearing to see 😊
I am also curious about this and why do you want to eat the same as at home? Try something different on holiday
She has shelves and stuff stocked as well so I don't think they finish everything since a lot she buys in bulk but idk cuz everytime she does a haul and brings it home it's always full already when she puts stuff away so I think she likes too plan ahead
I’d love a short on what was taken home! I have the same thought. I bet Oma and Opa have the space in their car! 🙃😉
@@sammiemarie14 I think she likes video views.
She said she goes a couple times in between the week for miscellaneous items that they run out of 😯
James is such a kind, thoughtful soul.

I came to say the same thing and saw your comment, lol.
Shout out to James for being an amazing Human!! He seems to be so thoughtful and has such a serving heart and spirit. The world could use more James's
Wow over 3000$ to feed 14 people for just a week . That’s just crazy to me .
James is such a delightful addition to grocery shopping!
James was so helpful, it was adorable how he knew what the other kids wanted! It seemed like he was really excited to help, I bet he is a great older brother!
What a dream to throw whatever you want into the cart without searching for the cheapest brand! 🤣 It takes me forever to compare prices to find the cheapest!! Lol
Agreed. What a dream! Specially now, with raising prices! 🙂❤️
She buys everything brand name. I don’t understand. I dont feel even if i could that i would….
And the liquor too! Some of that stuff was EXPENSIVE!!!!

What a great help James is!!! Loved watching him help you.
Listening to James being so helpful totally reminds me of grocery shopping with my son. He sure is a great kid! ❤
I'm glad we get to go along on these vacations! Our family is paying off debt this summer so that hopefully we can start saving up for a family trip to the mountains next year! These videos keep me inspired to keep working at it!! We adopted 3 children then had 3 biological children. Love the big family vibes!!
I love James he always puts his family before everything. If someone asks him to do something he is already on it. I love his voice to it’s a great mix of kid and adult. He is soooo much like alicia, caring, hardworking and loving. He is so lucky to have a loving family like all of you. And you guys are so lucky to have him. Ps. Love you guys keep up the hard work!❤️
I'm fairly new to your channel and this is the most I've seen of James and wow, he's a lovely young man. So kind, thoughtful and helpful. You and Josh give yourselves a pat on the back because you are outstanding parents. So much love sent your way from Newfoundland, Canada 🇨🇦 x
They are parents of the year in my book!!!!!!!!! Love all the love they spread to the kids and family...and to the world allowing us to watch and share their life with us.....i find it AMAZING AND FUN AND HAPPY FULLLLLL OF LOVE!!!!
@@Goaway624 So you agree with all the alcoholic drinking when there is adopted children in the home that were born with fetal alcohol syndrome and you think it's okay for her to buy anything and anything for her children without telling them no yes we can't control her lifestyle but what she's doing is wrong by exploding her children and drinking heavily when the kids had FAS
@@ethom7397 what changed your mind?
James you're all that a decent young man should be.
I agree!!!!! Ilove seeing how much they manage to accomplish.in a very short time!!!!
The amount of food is staggering. I'd like to see what's left at the end of week!
I cannot believe you got all those groceries into just the one fridge! Not counting the drink fridge....I should have known you would manage but still I'm amazed at your wizardry in getting it all in. Experience, no doubt, teaches us a lot. I'm going to be enjoying your vacation with you! Just like with my own grown kids and now my grandchildren, I take a lot of pleasure in just seeing kids be happy.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, James is an absolute GEM of a young man!! You should be so proud
James knows you so well. "I'll just grab 3 of each, 4 of those, 2 of these." 😂😂 I like how he was also attentive to what the other kids prefer. Like when he was grabbing Mt Dew and the Kind bars for Nevaeh and Dayshawn.
Watching your family is so soothing for some reason. I love when you take people along with you to help shop. James is such an amazing helper and he makes me laugh with his goofy Humor ever so often.
James is honestly such a good kid! He truly is a testament to you and your parenting 🥰 growing up to be a fine young man! Well done mumma! And well done James!
James seems like the kindest soul ever!! I hope he grows up to be just like his dad, helping and caring for the wife!! The green applesauce is actually good
James asking if you want some fruit snacks is the sweetest🌻What a kind young man!
I saw this right as it was happening in the video lol so sweet 🥰
Loved watching James help you on this one. I thought it was so sweet that he knew what the other kids liked as well. Enjoy your vacation and thanks for letting us see a glimpse of your wonderful family.

James is a wonderful young man, he even noticed how much you do every week. Great mum, great son, great family!
I just can’t believe you guys eat so much food in only ONE week!!! Your shopping bill is as much as our entire vacation tab! James is so sweet and kind. Glad you got some some one on one time in…Even tho is just grocery shopping, it’s “James and mom grocery shopping” and that’s what makes it special! He’s going to be an amazing adult man. You and your hubby should be so proud of him and all the other babies!!
And anything they don't eat or use gets donated after they leave
Wow, what an undertaking to have James help with the weekly shopping. Gives him a bit of an insight to see how much food the family consumes on a weekly basis.
I would be interested to see a pantry and fridge tour at the end of the week to see what is left at the end of your vacation.
Have a great time in OCNJ!!
I understand accommodations for the tastes, likes and dislikes for such a large family but shopping without regard to cost fascinates me. I’m not criticizing, I just find these shopping trips mesmerizing. Her son is such a dear to be so helpful. When I shopped for just my daughter and me, I used coupons and price compared in order to make food stamps and budget stretch. Now, when I shop for my husband and me, I still use coupons and price compare. When my husband’s adult vegan son and pescatarian daughter visit, I use coupons and price compare. When my now adult daughter, SIL and toddler grandson visit, well, you know the drill. I don’t know how to shop any other way even though we have a much larger income than when I was a single parent.
@Lori Smith Oh, I agree there is a lot of sugar and processed food. Having said that, I was trying to not completely bash her parenting. I do understand that with this large a family, she is taking short cuts so that she can enjoy her time with the kids. Having said that, I would cut down on the sugar and give the kids limits. "These are the snacks I am purchasing. You can choose what you like from the variety I have selected." I would refrain from purchasing each kid's favorite at every trip. Or, rotate who gets to make a specific selection.
James is such a wonderful, kind and helpful young man. I often feel like he is a little on the outside so to see so much of his personality is amazing. He is a fine young man and he should be so proud of himself!
I was waiting for, “But, First coffee.” Lol
Bless James heart for thinking of his siblings and being a great helping hands. He thinks of the others instead of trying to get only things he want.
James you’re awesome.
I’m so addicted to watching the grocery videos. I like watching Alicia buy whatever she wants because I’ve always been on a tight budget. Feeding a family of 14 3 meals a day must be so much work and I just really enjoy following her. James is such a good helper too
Wow- I so feel you on the interacting 54:40. You are not alone one bit. You did so well and once again, you inspire me! I have spent so much time walking around trying to find something myself- and I HATE the checkout line. A chatty cashier is torture. You are the best, Alicia!
Family of 8 here and for some reason your shopping trips are relaxing and therapeutic for me. When I'm out shopping I'm literally a sweaty Betty. My anxiety is crazy when it comes to checking out.
Thank you for sharing these hauls 💗 You're raising quite the gentleman there 😊
James was such a pleasure to have on this shopping trip - he is a lovely kind and helpful person with a very cheeky sense of humour. He really added to this video. Great to see you James.
This could become a drinking game...mom, you forgot a cart!!! 🤣 I love it when she said that she liked a certain flavor but kids didnt so he asked if SHE wanted to have fruitsnacks. So considerate!
I work at a retail store and a life saver for strolling around multiple carts at once is taking the child safety strap and attaching it to another cart!! Saves your hands and keeps the cart aligned except for turns if you aren’t careful.
Alicia is so cute the way she talks ! James said how many boxes of gold fish should we get ! She said well how much do you guys eat them- a lot - well get a lot! 🥴😂 I love her! If this food is for a week then yes those babies eat a lot of food because even for 16 people that’s an outrageous amount of food! I just love to watch her buy it 🥴😂😂 Hope you guys are having a blast and stay safe
As a child psychologist and advocate for children, it needs to be stated that boundaries have to be set and maintained. Allowing a kid to grab such a massive amount of chocolate pudding packs (and stating it’s for himself-jokingly or not) is setting a poor precedent. Kids crave structure and boundaries. Such significant amounts of preservatives, sugar, sodium and additives will hurt their bodies once they’re adults and no longer in your care. I know you’re aware of this because you’ve stated this in previous videos and have even said fluff sandwiches are bad for the body. Your responsibility as a role model, parent and provider is to provide access to a better quality of life for children, considering you constantly sign up for this role. Making content for money is important since it’s how you sustain your family. I’m hoping these products are just sponsorship showings and not all what the children are consuming. I don’t need any responses from the reply bots, payroll and account mods, fans or stans. Kids worldwide deserve a healthier lifestyle to overcome trauma, abandonment, and displacement-research supports this.
@@Stevie-oy8zj yes! 🤍
I am more concerned about spending.10 carts can already feed a village.
@Lacey Sage Willows with all due respect, you don’t have any right to tell me what to be concerned with or how to communicate research based facts. I advocate for all children. I understand you’re a supporter/fan/reply bot etc., but trying to censor someone with your distasteful replies isn’t going to silence anyone from expressing concern or facts.
I do agree with your comment Zoey, but as long as the kids are getting fed and clothed then we shouldnt complain. There are kids literally starving in this world. Just be happy that these children aren't being starved to death and going without basic needs.🙂
James is an absolute treasure! He’s so helpful, thoughtful and kind! Props to you for being an amazing mom!

OMG So happy you posted! Thank you- your hauls are so satisfying to watch and also like ASMR with the packaging. BUT the best part of your posts is your awesomely huge heart, Alicia. Really look forward to your all your excellent content.
So awesome that they have a huge fridge and a back-up one in the laundry room. I love these shopping hauls. The fact that Alicia can just get what she needs and always has enough money to buy what everyone likes is the best!

Try to save yourself some videos, lol she’s therapeutic but I feel really unstable on the days she doesn’t really post 😂 I wish I hadn’t binged quite so hard.
I'm a Jersey girl and we go to OC every year with my husband's family, he's the baby of 9. Everyone gets their own place on the same block. Siblings, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews!!! Just sorry we weren't down the same time as you all!!!
This is a mind boggling amount of food! Do they really eat all of those snacks in a week? I only have two kids. I can’t imagine! Produce we go through way faster than packaged snacks. I can’t imagine. Your so organized! My husband is one of eight. He never had this much variety growing up or this much one trip. I think his mom did a lot of Sam’s club though. Still amazing! Enjoy your vacation.
I have 7 kids and I just can't see how they would actually go through so much. I know she has a couple of teen boys and they can certainly pack away food but she has a lot of littles too.
I have six kids and I guess mine just don't eat that much. I imagine doubling what I get and it's still not close. I guess every family is different!
I am actually thinking how they can all fnish those with a week vacation. this is overwhelming.
this amount of food would last my family more than a year.
Ha I was wondering how many loads of laundry you would have to do a day to go through 2 full containers in a week? 15 maybe? I must be missing something :)
We’ve spent a week at Disney World with 14 of us in an airbnb. Got water and some breakfast food for all of us for the week. Mostly fruit and snacks. Maybe 1 cereal box. Maybe a couple of dr peppers and a bottle of wine for the adults - for the week. Not nearly this much. I am blown away by the drinks alone! So blown away. Where did the leftovers go?
Ikr it’s a lot lol but I guess they got the money, I just don’t see how they eat it all.

I love this family and their videos but I agree, this was very excessive for only 1 week. There has to be tons of food leftover. She also said as they were at the store that the kids were getting McDonald’s for lunch and takeout for dinner. So there’s one day. 🤷♀️
She’s extra for reason. This was one week!!!

I’m from the UK and when I watch these shopping videos I can’t believe how big the packet sizes are for everything over there for food and drinks.. ours is half the size, it’s so fascinating lol
And the shop size, as well. I mean we have big stores too, but for this big packet sizes shop has to be huuuge 😂

When they don't have Caramel Macchiato creamer, a good dupe is to buy the French Vanilla AND a squeeze-bottle of Smucker's Caramel Sundae Topping. Just line your cup with a little of the topping or add and stir, then add the creamer. Love your hauls- really ALL your videos. Thank you for being you, Alicia, and making such a wonderful difference in the lives of your lucky children. Bravo.
I’m obsessed with trying to work out what coffee creamer tastes like because we don’t get it in the Uk apart from the odd tub of powdered stuff. Is it flavoured milk?
@@cockerpops Basically yes-- it's liquid, and it's like table/whipping cream, but has sugar or another sweetener, some type of thickener like oil, and flavor added. You could get something very close by mixing some milk/cream with some sweetened, condensed milk. For flavor you could add cinnamon, vanilla extract, or cocoa powder. I think Coffee Mate liquid and Cafe Maid are available in the UK, but not sure. Honestly, with good brewed coffee, regular cream or "half and half" is classic and delicious- with just a little sweetener. Half and half is half milk/half cream. Cheers!

I love watching your grocery hauls so much, the stores in America are amazing compared to the ones over here in England some of the food you buy looks sooo good!
Your family is the best I’ll never understand how people can give you hate you and josh are true angels ❤️
I agree. I’d be in heaven in that cereal aisle.
🥰🥰🥰
It would be the chips & snacks aisle for me. Sometimes though, it would be just too much choice.😪
The haters who come for this family are simply miserable and jealous, just pitiful souls. LOVE the DD!
a lot of this food is banned in the eu due to safety reasons.. USA sells food based on the probability that it'll cause a death rather than banning it outright. If it'll cause even 1 death its banned but USA doesn't care even if just a few people die. The food isnt as amazing as u think
it's insane how much it takes to feed your family for a whole week, and it never ceases to amaze me, and then i remember how much it takes to feed our family of 6 (3 kiddos (two with dietary restrictions and allergies) and 3 adults) plus our two dogs who both have completely different diets...they're all bottomless pits some days lol
All your children are so sweet! I think you need to bring James food shopping more, he’s such a good helper and so polite!
Please do a haul at the end of the week and show what is left over! I'm so curious.
Me too!! Great idea
Me too
Me too. This is a great idea...
I’m curious to know about the goldfish. $60.00 worth 😬
I really want to know what’s left! I hope Oma & Opa can fit left overs in their car or the kids can put stuff order their seats in the van….
Don’t waste the food…..
You and James make the best team! Both so kind and considerate of everyone else. I hope you guys make the best memories this week. 💕😀
So at the end of vacation can you show us what groceries you have left if any? That is so much food for just 14 people.
Too much! And how many days?
James is a great helper. Hes like an old pro. He has a dry sense of humor when he was pulling moms chain with being careful with the produce. He will make a great husband some day.
James deserves super big big hug. Like grocery is fun but i know for sure i wont be smiling with that huger grocery haul. Good job James!!
No way in this world that they needed 3200.00 worth of food for 1 week for 16 people! My family was the same size and I know without a shadow of doubt our grocery bill never got close to that for 1 week!
Just greed!
I use to follow dd and loved it but Its disgusting to me now how she shops and often. Its a total waste and she does it for the views to gain more money. Especially during these times dont flaunt this crap in hard working peoples faces that are barely getting by.
Its almost like.....different families have different amounts of food they consume.....like regular...people..? Foreign concept, not everyone or every family is the same? I know!
and she has just spent another 1600 now they are home as well
@@j4de_h did you see all the stuff they had left on the last day of OC? Enough for another week or so!
Wow you guys are bringing your children up with great morals and values. Most teenagers would have thrown a hissy fit with amount of time that grocery haul took. James was helpful and caring and didn’t complain a bit. Kudos to you mom and dad!!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾Take care guys and have a blast this week…💕💕💕
🧡🧡🧡
@@carlaroy1763 Cynical much? All teenagers don’t have to be bribed, especially if they are taught well…….From a mom of three teenagers……
@@carlaroy1763 you seriously have issues!! Why do you watch if have issue what such a lovely family? This boy is great he reminds me alot of my 14 year old son that will literally shop with me all day with no complaints.
@@carlaroy1763 True. James hates being on camera & thats well known
@@carlaroy1763 if kids are taught to be caring etc they wouldn't mind grocery shopping or shopping in general
Omg McDonald’s for lunch and burgers for dinner after buying all that food 😩😩
I had to have an insulin shot after watching this SOOOOOO MUCH SUGAAARRR ! You must have the patience Alicia the kids must off been of the charts with energy !
This is the first video where I’ve seen more of James and he’s so polite, well mannered, selfless, and kind. He remembers everything his siblings loves to eat and didn’t think about himself.
What a great son you have there, I hope to see another one on one with this lovely young man. I have one son that is the same age as well. Hello from Chicago.
I would love to also see a video at the end of the week to see what is left in your pantry in your refrigerator
Doing such a good job of teaching James to be a great husband - what an adorable family.
Over $3,000 in groceries & $340 in alcohol! 🤯🤯 I have never seen such a large grocery & alcohol bill in my life! 🤯🤯
James was such a good helper. You wouldn't have been able to do all that without him! He saw first hand how you shop for the family every week.
But this trip was extreme! You needed everything! 😁
She is anti good food apparently lol
It is for 16 people for the week. It is also her money and she is an adult and her family . Good for her !
@Lori S it isn’t her responsibility to save the world and she has done a lot by adopting and loving the children. Have you saved children ? Well she has and she is amazing to care for them more than many biological parents won’t do. It is sad that people go hungry but your family comes first and she makes sure that her children have everything that will comfort them especially children with food aversions. Her life isn’t easy , just because you view an hour video you don’t know her or her life. You don’t know what she does with the food as she might actually donate it . It isn’t her or her families fault for world hungry nor should she be criticized for how she spends her money and what she does with the food.
James is so adorable. He is a wonderful big brother, knowing what his siblings like. I really enjoyed this video, getting to see him one on one with you. I love your shopping videos but this is my favorite.
You’re family is both unique and amazing. Love how the older kids really take care of the younger ones xxx
