    UPDATE: The video below will link you to an updated lists video, covering the September 2023 points update.

    Hello! My super long and elaborate comments with multiple URLs are probably being flagged as spam by RUclips, so here are the two most important links to play Combat Patrol!
    It would be cool if you could subscribe and share the video with others who might be interested to get into Combat Patrol and/or Death Guard!

    What Is Combat Patrol?
    Combat Patrol has been designed for a wide variety of players. It can be picked up by new and returning players, people who might struggle to find the time for a larger game, players who want to try a new faction without building a 1,000 point army, or people who simply want to master a new game format.
    Instead of building an army from a selection of datasheets and points values, your games will feature balanced but varied forces based on the Combat Patrol boxes you can find in stores. You simply pick up the Combat Patrol box from your favourite faction, build your miniatures, and get ready to battle. It really is as simple as that!

    These long form videos are excellent. Nice work my friend. We need more of these, so much insight and useful information.

    Glad they appear to do better in Combat Patrol format. Hopefully they can try to push the greater faction this way over updates

    @EmpireofWargames It's always nice to listen to your insights! I have some questions regarding "competitive" DG at the moment and was wondering what your take on them:
    - For anti tank, Predators seem weirdly to be a strong option since MBHs are grossly overcosted and need to be at short range to do anything. Including Wardog Brigands seem also to be a nice option. What's your take on anti-tank in DG?
    - What do you think about cultists and their scout ability in competitive lists?
    - Is LoV + x3 PBCs an auto-include in your opinion? It certainly seem to be the strongest synergy in the index (although granted it doesn't mean much).
    - Plaguemarines seem (sadly) to be among the least cost efficient battleline units in the whole game. Based on that, what do you think about a DG list ditching PMs altogether and relying instead on Deamon Engines, cultists, and maybe some Deathshrouds to go with your LoVs ?

    • @EmpireofWargames
      @EmpireofWargames  Год назад

      While I think PCBs + LoV are overcosted, I do think they are an auto include, because we simply do not have many other options when it comes to hard hitting units.
      Regarding cultists: Because plague marines are so expensive, I see a lot of lists bring 2-3 units of these to hold or contest objectives, and I had some success with them as well.
      Lastly I think Deathshroud Terminators and Mortartions are must includes, everything else has its benefits and downsides. There is a great list that popped up today where someone went 5-0 at their tournament, and I think their list is solid. www.goonhammer.com/competitive-innovations-in-10th-aeldari-annihilation/
      If you scroll down a bit, you'll find it!

    Is there a mistake in this video regarding Typhus' Destroyer Hive? In 32:12 you say that its applying to melee as well as shooting. The datasheet in the video says it is (sadly) only melee. Did i miss any update ?

    • @EmpireofWargames
      @EmpireofWargames  Год назад

      Nope you are correct, it's only melee and that's also how I've played it. It seems I made a mistake in my notes for the video. Thanks for pointing that out!

    I definitely think this style of video is great for getting people into the hobby. I'm sure we can all appreciate new blood keeping the 40k community fresh and healthy.

    Wow, what other combat patrols will you be able to put this kind of play testing into ahead of your videos?

    • @EmpireofWargames
      @EmpireofWargames  Год назад +1

      Since I am only doing one of these a week, I want to get 7-10 games in with each combat patrol if possible. The absolute minimum would be 5, If I wouldn't be able to get 5 games in, I'd probably delay the video. The next one is Thousand Sons, which should be up tomorrow if everything goes to plan!

    What's the best way to get the Lord Of Contagion model from the 8th edition starter box? Also is the datasheet for that model good enough to be worth a purchase in your opinion?

    • @EmpireofWargames
      @EmpireofWargames  Год назад

      Hmm, the best option is probably ebay or just going with Lord Felthius and throwing him on a 50mm base.

    I’m new to 40K and done a few DG CP games. I find my sloth pox and marines get drilled from range trying to get to objectives. Should the Pox just eat shots and continue plowing like zombies or should they be used to do stuff like sit on my base objective and wait until opponent sends something in to obliterate them, but it will take him a few turns? I need some tactic ideas to guide me.
