Can't wait until these products hit the US market...we tend to be 6 months or more behind the AUS releases. Hey Guys I was wondering if you could produce a plug and play patch cable and cover plate so that those of us with 3.1.1 Brewzilla's can easily move the screen and attach it to a wall or whatever similar to the Gen 4? Love your innovations and the fact that you are so involved with your customers. You certainly are a breath of fresh air. Keep it up.
The BrewZilla 3.1.1 is still getting manufactured but we are putting most of our resources into new products as its possible that the 3.1.1 is discontinued in the future. We will still support the model with spare parts and accessories but it's hard to justify further new product development for a older model. I will take it to the team though and see what they think.
I really like that new design. If we could use that new attach hardware with the old nukataps would be great. Are there any ideas for a nukatap mini with fc? Keep on bringing new innovation to the market. Love it. Cheers from Germany
The tap is already quite difficult to manufacture. It's going to be difficult to have a FC function in such a small tap. We will have a look at this but I get the feeling it could be difficult. We will see what we can do. Thanks for your support. Which home brew store do you normally purchase from in Germany?
ruclips.net/video/Qk_uIw16Nk8/видео.html I don't think FC on the tap is worth it. The FC QD looks good but I haven't tried it. One real cheap solution is inserting into any tubing. Not sure why this guy stopped selling the inserts but I have one and works well.
A product suggestion, a floating filter for use in metal mini kegs. Similar to the oxybar keg filter but floating with a silicon dip tube. Then you could pour boiling wort into the keg, no chill, pressure ferment and serve from the mini keg. Dr Hans on RUclips brews like this, he calls it shake and brew
Interesting to see how difficult it was to push in the tube to the disconnect. I have heaps of trouble with the push in fittings, both liquid and gas with the Eva barrier. Don’t seem to push in all the way to the indicator, even though I take care cutting the Eva tube evenly etc.
I'm finding that too, particularly with the new flow control disconnect. It looks like the o-ring inside might be larger than the older variants. One tip for you, wipe a bit of silicone grease around the end of the tube before inserting it. It was still difficult but it eventually did seat fully.
When we first made the whole range of duotight fittings we have made them to be quite a tight fit on purpose. With that said we have a new generation 2 model for all of the fittings that we are about to start transissioning to soon. These fittings are easier to put together and take apart. If you have trouble getting the beer line in all the way we have some customers use a pencil shapener to put a small chamfer on the edge of the beer line and this does make it quite a bit easier.
RE: Using PET as a co2 canister.. that section (17:40) reminds me of the soda-stream refill video where you turn the donor co2 canister upside down if it has no dip-tube... is there a difference between filling the PET with the donor co2 bottle being right way up versus upside down in regards to whether it has/hasn't a dip-tube?
The shank kit is absolutely genius! Any plans for anything similar for the regular nukataps, og a regular sized nukatap with similar teeth? Would love something like this for drilling beerlines through the wall of the house, as only having to drill 8mm holes would be much less intrusive, than a hole for a 5/8" shank!
This tap has the body made from various different composites including PP, polykeytone and EPDM. The spout is stainless and we also use a stainless insert for themale spout. The seals are overmoulded into the body of the tap. This shape of tap body is extremly difficult to make in plastic as we have horizontal channels to make the flow of liquid more laminar and that would be virtually impossible to machine from stainless. The knurled nut at the back and also the tap handle thread and shuttle are all stainless.
definetly should put multiple 'fins' on the disconnect so the tap can clock into the upright or even rotate 90 degrees clock or counter clockwise and lock there also

I bought one of these taps to go with your 5L mini keg system (along with the POK duotight 8mm x Flow Control Ball Lock Disconnect and other Nukatap Mini fittings). I seem to have assembled it as per your video but (trialing it with water) every time I connect the gas it is spurting liquid out of the underside of the tap? At a loss as to what I've done wrong? Thanks Kee- with that inline regulator setup on the soda bottle, if i wanted to serve 3 or 4 small kegs, could I split off from 1 regulator or should I set up a separate one for each?
You mentioned if there is something we think you could make before to comment below. Is there any chance kegland can make a portable fermentation chamber for summer made out of a tough polystyrene insulation foam where we can put the fermzilla inside with a peltier cooler attached instead of having to buy expensive fermentation fridges for those on a budget? I have seen one similar on an overseas website, not sure if there is a patent on it or not but it's basically a esky with a peltier cooler which blows cold air inside to cool the fermenter.
To be frank. We have an issue with Peltier coolers. They are very electrically inefficient. The small upfront saving in cost results in long term energy consumption. We are looking to make a smaller and more cost effective Rapt half size chamber. Would this suit your application?
@@KegLand yes it would actually be better, I only want to keep it at 18C for fermentation, I was thinking of upgrading my Kegland 3 keg kegerator and buying the one which holds 4 kegs and using the old one as a fermentation chamber, I have the money but not the space though
I have been using the nukatap mini for a week now. It is excellent product. Only the self closing spring does not work. Tap keeps pouring. Anyone having the same issue?
If only the FC ball lock was a little bit higher, then the tap could fit on 18 liter corny kegs. I only have those and the rubber handle is in the way. The 19 liter ones work since the handles are different. Another way around this would be a higher keg post! But I have searched high and low for that without luck.
I have an invention request: make a long cooling coil that can reach the bottom of a corny and fit through the lid hole. Reason I want this: if I could transfer the wort boiling hot from my kettle into my keg where I ferment in and cool it in the keg it would 1) sanitize the keg due to heat 2) save me time because I can already start cleaning my kettle during cooling. The invention would basically be your already existing fermzilla cooling coil but with a lot more coils so that it could cool efficiently using tap water, plus it should be a tad more narrow so it fits in the keg opening. This would be awesome!

Id love some sort of better designed drip tray for the front of a keggerator. Some of the generic ones avaliable are pretty nasty and cleaning them out is a pain unless you rig some sort of custom drainage system into it.
I can sadly confirm that the nukatap mini + flow control balllock disconnect does not fit on the aeb kegs with the 360 degree rubber handle part on the top, if it was 1-2cm taller it would clear.
What are the dimensions of the Nukatap Mini clamp. I have a Freezer above the fridge door and the best position for the clamp is between the 2 doors. As far as I can see my gap is about 8mm maximum. I wouldn't like the back of the clamp keeping one door ajar.
We are just tweaking these dimensions a bit now. They are just about to go into production so you should see the dimensions on the website in about 1-2 weeks.
According to my Reynolds Number calculation beer being poured through a 10mm orifice, at a rate of 1 pot per 15 seconds would be in the turbulent flow region (at least in transitional flow). And this calculation assumes a straight pipe with no bends. A tap is closer to an elbow than a straight pipe so the flow would unlikely be laminar. Certainly not fully developed flow. I would be very surprised if the flow was laminar in these irregular tap cross sections with the flow rate of 1 pot per 15sec. The beer also contains bubbles of various sizes - another complication
You are absolutely correct. If you definte "laminar flow" using the Reynolds number definition then we would have to make a much longer and bulkier tap spout. With that said when we talk about laminar flow we compare our results with other competitors in the marketplace and our taps have significantly more laminar flow than the competition.
Noticed a few others asking some unanswered similar questions. If I have a 1.25l PET bottle with 90psi of CO2 in it, how many grams of CO2 would that be? How would it compare to the little 16gram disposable CO2 cylinders that you sell? Would it be possible to design and sell a decently rated 500ml extra strong pet bottle that would hold a decent (and refillable) amount of CO2 for this same purpose? Maybe there is some amount of inherent danger to this, but perhaps it could be mitigated with well designed fittings?

Haha. Dont worry we have some really cool distillation hardware on the horizon. Do you think the copper dome is necessary. I have always preferred the stainless lid myself and the dome shape is more of a cosmetic thing rather than performance. Did you want the copper dome for cosmetic reasons or to improve the spirit somehow?
@KegLand I have always been told more copper contact will result in a better end product. As you also mention on the description of the alcoengine pot still When your hot spirit comes in contact with copper the copper acts like a catalytic converter and drives sulfur out of the spirit. This process means you get less "off-flavours" and you simply get better quality spirit. But yes, I also do get hard for copper porn. Bit of a shame I have to buy from another supplier for a brewzilla accessory.

Nope
Please make your version of PLAATO Keg that can work with RAPT in some way. It would be awesome!
Yes we have our own version of a keg monitor in development. We hope to release this soon.
Another brilliant idea :)
Thanks!
The next big thing would be a digital pressure gauge with wifi and a sounding valve with a small motor.
This is something that is on the horizon. I agree this would be really handy.
Are you planning on bringing out a full sized version?
We do already have the standard Nukatap models such as the Nukatap SS and Nukatap FC
Glass Grolwer version of the PCO38 Ball Lock Disconnect Tapping Head Kit
Yes I think that should be possible. Which design of glass growler do you mean?
@@KegLand gallon and 1/2 gallon growlers with the screw-on cap, looks like KL14403. Got quite a few from breweries over the years. The other option I've found, CanKeg Growl Tap Kit is close, but would really prefer some ball lock connections without needing a mess of adapters.
Will the FC Ball Lock Disconnect and Nukatap Mini combination fit on your Mini-Keg Ball Lock Lid? I know the FC Ball Lock Disconnect is a little larger than standard disconnects.
Yes they will fit onto the mini keg ball lock lid.
@@KegLand That's awesome.... now when can we get them in the US?
At last! When will this be available via MoreBeer and other US partners?
KegLand has two main distributors in America. www.morebeer.com and www.williamsbrwing.com
It's best to contact these guys directly and they can give you lead times and approximate arrival dates.
design a better floating dip tube filter that will stay in the under the liquid?
If you want the tip tube to sink a little deeper one easy way is to use an additional stainless ring between the float and the mesh:
www.kegland.com.au/products/fermzilla-ss-ball-float-100cm-silicone-dip-tube-and-filter-kit
When wil this be available i europe, Like Norway ???
Also the smaler Oxebar Keg ???
The smaller Oxebar 4L kegs should be available in Norway before the end of the year. The taps might get to Norway a little sooner.
Where are these made?
Do you know if this product is going to be available in the UK?
Yes it will definitely be available in the UK soon. Please check with the local distributors and ask them the arrival date:
www.kegland.com.au/distributor
Will the Nukatap Counter Pressure Bottle Filler fit the Nukatap mini?
Nope, sorry
The handle can be change? i find it really small and maybe uncomfortable
Yes we will have other handles available in future. I should say the handle is also a standard M5 thread so you can easily screw other stuff on too. We have tried to keep all the threads as common as possible.
How about version of Nukatap mini clamp to attach to table top/ kitchen island unit I.e. a horizontal surface.
Yes that is a good point. We should probably make another version to do that too. I will look into that now.
Will you update the Kegland jockey box with these mini taps?
We're looking at various options
Do you have plans to make a stout nozzle for the mini?
Not at present, but don't rule it out
Help please - where the heck do I put the spring that came with my tap and the other parts? No videos seem to mention a spring! Is it top secret?
Check the photo on the product page: www.kegland.com.au/products/nukatap-mini-spring?_pos=11&_sid=b3dcc3300&_ss=r
Is the nukatap mini compatible with the nukatap counter pressure filler?
Yes you can use it with that. Just remember the thread is the MFL 1/4. So any of these fittings can screw on then you can attach the counter pressure filler.
Is there a stout/nitro spout for this Nukatap Mini ?
Yes we have these in the pipeline already. They will be on our website soon.
Amazing!
True dat!
When will this be launched in the UK? Its not on the brewkegtap site yet.
It's best to ask BrewKegTap. They will have a better idea when the goods arrive as they organise the freight from our consolidation DC.
Thanks. Guys. Want
2 of them for my keezer for symmetry with my SS centre tap. I'm autistic, have a brain injury and blind and they've been a good help yo this brewer.
What is mounting the sodastream bottle onto the esky cooler? Do you sell that little mount?
That was just something we made in the office. It's a good point, we should probably make these available to eveyone too. I will take that back to the other guys and see if we can manufacture them for customers too.
Hey guys, can you use the Mini with the nukatap counter pressure filler?
Not readily, sorry - different tap threads
How many liters of beer can you serve out of that co2 soda bottle?
Depends on pressures and temperatures.
can this replace the garbage tap on a ukeg???
We would be happy to talk to ukeg about this. I will try and contact them now and see if they would be interested.
That adapter is excactly what I want for my beer fridge. I don't want to put holes in it in case I want to resell it, but it's such a hassle to open the door and have it beep angrilly at me for keeping the door open as I pour myself a pint. The oxebar kegs are super awesome btw. I'm just waiting to get my mitts on the smaller ones in norway soon.
Thanks for the support. We are trying to make more 4L kegs as quickly as possible so hopefully we can get them into Norway soon.
@@KegLand That's cool. I'm always excited to try new stuff from you guys, so I'm looking forward to it. I LOVE the CIP! Btw, could a "full sized" Oxebar 19/20L keg work? Would it even be practical at that size?
Less mini taps and more 65l copper domes.. jokes😂 love the setup. But seriously, where is the 65l copper dome.
As you also mention on the description of the alcoengine pot still
When your hot spirit comes in contact with copper the copper acts like a catalytic converter and drives sulfur out of the spirit. This process means you get less "off-flavours" and you simply get better quality spirit.
But yes, I also do get hard for copper porn. Bit of a shame I have to buy from another supplier for a brewzilla accessory.
I wish I had a lot shank 😜
Me too!
