Noticed that Kaliningrad has been one of the most popular map that gets insta picked everytime I queue, had one fun game where I swam squads of amph vehicles especially the b-7s as russia across the river and essentially killed so much artillery and AA while being a massive rat in the backlines that some of the guys ended up quitting.
Very cool match! I find it a bit weird that in this game we have these giant strategic weapons like Iskanders targetting 5 dudes in a squad, but it sure does look cool
Having mid to poor dogfights at game start seems to be a theme here. Still, outside of cases where one side completely cedes early air game, it doesn't seem to be a decisive exchange for the match, which is good.
Solo queue is not where all the juicy dogfights are. If you join on vulcan twitch stream when he play 5 man stack, that is where all the jets action are
The most efficient for me was just using two 4X amraam f-35s cheap bomb and gun harrier and multirole f-18 Having two 245 f35 ASF to quickly shoot down planes and also laser designate if needed with the built in designation pod on the plane. The stealth and flying low with afterburners makes it hard to shoot down but its also pretty hard to hit so I recomend turning afterburners off after getting behind or from the side so you don't oveshoot
@@cassu6 yeah stopping enemy helo dropping off infantry in a good spot and protecting your team helo drop too. If you let the enemy have recon and plane, you are going to get air spam to death with their more dedicated air to ground jets
Those CAAT TOW teams are probably my favorite units in the game. I love to play almost infantry only and those units are exactly what you’d want in a unit
Really cool to watch the units get across the bay there, I was totally expecting them to counter with some more helicopters though like that original KA-50. Marine Raiders definitely the MVP of this round too, so much value.
If you want SEAD in an Armor/Marine deck, but you still want air-to-air capability, get Harriers. You can set them up with 2xAMRAAMS, 2xsidewinders, and 2xAGM-122s for SEAD. You now have a decent all-purpose plane on the cheap. Just make sure to fly low since these SEAD missiles have shorter ranges.
I got an Airborne + Marine deck just for this map. It's so fun to execute, and usually helps a lot taking off pressure. You just have to keep supplies up, and advance to their spawn when enemies stop focusing on you.
I am curious about the downed pilot mechanics how does it work ? Do you have to just pick them up and get points or do you have to bring them back to a spawn or a capture zone to get points. Also can any vehicle rescue them or does it have to be only transport helicopters. I really like this mechanic but I want to know more about it. If anyone know please let me know.
you can just leave em there but youll have to wait for more extended period for the cooldown on air unit you lost to call it in again. if you pick them up, the cooldown ends faster but youll still have to wait. Any vehicle would work, it just got to have personnel transport seats and you can just get the pilots in and RTB the vehicle
I love doing this exact flank on this map just because there’s so much tree cover that you can move in and hide your guys around and be a real nuisance to the enemy team.
Holy fucking shit, USA is so well designed in BA, lots of cost efficient and powerful infantry squads, best tanks, great AA options, american airforce, cheap and powerful ballistics. Russia shines in it's quirky, niche kinda units, while USA is a conventional warfare powerhouse. I really wanna see what remaining specializations gonna bring.
I seriously don’t understand the hate for this game. People talk about plane and missile spam, but those can easily be countered by radar aa? And people complain about radar aa dying easily. Yeah, you’re supposed to toggle and move them around? You know, like IRL? All of this sounds like a skill issue. This game is fantastic and innovative, what we’ve been sorely needing especially since warno was a disappointment compared to its hype
Came from warno & sd2 to test out BA this time round - didnt like the look of it from vids previously, other than the vastly better aspects of deck building - thought the unit UI wasnt as nice and was didnt really like the specialisation system as i thought it would make things feel much less unique. But after trying it out BA is definitely my fav rts atm, so many mechanical & gameplay developments over eugen games and my concerns about the decks feeling bland turned out to be completely wrong. No arbitrary accuracy percentages and less stun locks makes gameplay much more consistent, inf with cooldown sprint & a single smoke is a huge gameplay upgrade - spotting/stealth system is well balanced imo, Sead/AA balance is likewise way better. All fixed wing/heli's controllability is gigantically improved, with vastly upgraded fire mission controls for cas & arty. Also, the transportation & logistic systems plays out much more dynamically too and forms a really meaningful component of your deck building choices, which is actually big deal which not too many people mention. They definitely got a few things they need to sort out still, like being able to give units orders (like unload at position) before u actually call them in - but overall the gameplay just feels much better for me compared to Warno specifically, though SD2 i think is still pretty great and is not as directly comparable.
Oh hey, I just played this map a while ago. I didn't mean to play as Russians, but at least I got my first Victory. My first two matches were as the US and things did not go so well for my team. We got nuked and whole sides capitulated. I was playing the Airfield map and didn't realize until it was too late that the right side of the map had no friendly units. I'm 0-2 as US, but 1-0 as RU.
I’m gonna be trying out the new 1-3 person tower defense mode as my replacement for a tutorial. Need to find out how to use advanced weapons aka laser guided munitions and how to set up stuff like multi strikes the way you did with the bombs on the hornet.
With the precision strike you click it as much as you want to fire I usualy click and use all missles/bombs at once and then you quickly pick the diferent targets on the map you want to kill. With the lasers you have to have guidance pods or sniper that have it. It then makes the guided shells Guide to the laser target. You can target basicaly anything
The devs haven’t given us a clear cut date, best we’ve gotten is “a few weeks” but that is plenty of time to take it at your own pace play a little here a little there

Thanks for the vid! I just downloaded the beta yesterday and have got a few matches in. I've been trying to learn a lot of info from YT videos and I've heard the term Seed(?) mentioned a few times, but have had trouble finding info on what that actually is. Could anyone enlighten me?
What you’re hearing is SEAD (pronounced ‘seed’) meaning Suppression of Enemy Air Defense. As a concept it is any action that makes the enemy take their air defenses offline, temporarily or permanently, to enable friendly air assets to conduct operations.
It's SEAD, pronounced "seed" as you heard, and it stands for Suppression of Enemy Air Defence. It's about using aircraft to destroy enemy air defenses, usually using anti-radiation missiles that detect and home in on radars turned on. So when someone is talking about a SEAD aircraft, it's usually armed with anti-radiation missiles and will be targeting radars. The US uses the AGM-88 HARM and its variants.
Does anyone else have the Problem, that direct missile Hits (AA and AT) don’t do any damage? Tho when Enemy missiles Explode 100m next to your Aircraft, they do normal damage???
SEAD or Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses are military actions to suppress enemy surface-based air defenses, including not only surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) and anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) (copied from Wikipedia)
you mean to say. units dont die permanently and respawn after a while? ofcourse you pay with points to bring them into the field, but they dont die? fuckkkk. changes everything for me lol
You can shoot all of the above with AA and its not always the best investment. If you can just push hard with light autocanon APCs and AA you can get behind their lines to wreck havoc. Using spread out units goes well against plane and missle spam as they cant bring much ground units
@@cisarovnajosefina4525 I get that but this whole match their was barley anything happeneing just jet spam, missile spam no infantry from that guy just a few tanks. Boring.
i dont know if they are part of the russian marine specilization but russians have better infantry than US, their AT is pretty good against even heavy armored vehicles.
they are apart of the Russian amphibious specialization. The specialization is just not good. But I want to be proved wrong by Vulcan. I feel like I’m missing something when it comes to using that specialization properly

if that’s the case, why have jets as a unit if everything they can use is beyond the range? Might as well make CAS a call in that doesn’t get affected by any unit you have and you simply have to dodge or shoot down their munitions or lose troops to an enemy you can’t see. If you’re not following so far, it’s called balance.
They actually wanted to only have off map call ins first due to this but the community was very much against. But while the game is not 1:1 scale it is a lot closer to it than any competitor game. Also not sure why you think this is supposed to be a sim. It's a relatively realistic RTS but it is still very much a game first not a sim first.
