Whatever our stalwart DB Sir said about Namma Puttanna is absolutely right. He was level headed, Psycho, brilliant yet inconsistent, superior yet inferior, awesome yet awkward and likewise. Adakke antha personality irodhakke he was able to think out of the box.. And made some of the best movies and stood tall untill his demise and after his demise as well...! For me no one can even inch closer to Puttanna ji's thinking and intellectual capacity..! A gem gone too soon because of his arrogance and level headed! We always love Puttanna ji... 🙏🙏🙏

Difference between SRP and DB is correctly told by Mr Bhagwan. SRP took his success to his head and became slightly high headed but DB by his shrewed cool thinking became commercially more successful of course with the backing of Dr Rajkumar in his movies.

On the topic of Udaykumar....it would be grossly unfair to perceive his persona in poor light... merely on the basis of Mr Bhagwaan's story which makes for a compelling hearing but extremely pro Rajkumar...as if to depict Rajkumar and his family as flawless. I am.a great fan of Raj both his onscreen and off-screen persona. Udaykumar was no less. His acting talent is to be seen to be believed and likewise his scholarly talent and knowledge of music through his books, stage performances and so on. People have no clue. Reach out to folks like actor Rajesh and his family and friends, will be astonished. Raj knew how to manage his star charisma..UK failed to cash in. Uday, Raj, Balakrishna and Narasimharaju...in my humble view possessed the same kind of talent. But Raj by virtue of his overall persona superseded them. Watch Raj and UK in any of the movies and the power of the screen presence.. chanduvalliya tota, Satya Harishchandra...Raj pales before UK. Similarly with Balakrishna and Raj... Balakrishna holds his forte. See Narasimha Raju in Saakshatkaara in the last scene..he steaks thunder under Raj's nose. While lauding Raj for his contribution and for immensely wonderful personality, let us not belittle our other greats. Let their fallibilities not be blown out of proportion. Uday is not here to defend himself and his family doesn't have the crowd backing Rajkumar has. Hope you see my point of view.

You & several other Raj haters like you will never succeed. DrRaj was is will ever be the numero uno Kannada icon. Repectfully request to not to constantly, forcibly bring in Kalyan, Uday Kumars, Vishnu, to the same. Pl feel free to compare Kalyan K with Mgr, UdayaK with ShivajiG and Vishnu to KamalH, Rajni & Chiranjeevi.Right from the beginning Dr.Raj was discriminated due to caste, etc. The other Kumars, some directors were always jealous of him. Dr.Raj was simply above them as a person, skills, looks, versitality,, etc. The only Kannada Kantheerava, VaraNata, Natasarwabhouma, Bangarada Manushya. The people din't care that Kalyan K acted in Tamil movies, UdayK in Tamil/Telugu ..Only Raj was the bedrock, toatl commitment to KannadaMate, inspite of the discrimination Thats why inspite of the efforts of quite a few people, who tried still trying to tarnish him, he's risen above & beyond their petiness. regards,

Wandering Mystic sir/madam, Ugly casteist, jealous remarks and biases have always been levelled against Dr Rajkumar due to his simply meteoric rise to the very summit of Kannada cinema. Why would Bhagvan sir even mention this, had UK not spoken in such a derisive manner? What was the need for an actor of UK's calibre to stoop?!
There were perhaps great theatre artists from Dr.Raj's times that would outshine him ... but remember that unless one is handpicked by Divine, one cannot enjoy the status of Dr.Raj or Dr. NTR or Ranijikanth!
So trying to come up with human comparison-constructs like knowledge of music and books reeks of inadequate depth of understanding!

I wish the interviewer had done some research upfront and asked some interesting questions. He is clueless of the history of all these legendary movies. I would say it is a missed opportunity. We are just plain lucky That this legend is narrating all this from his memories alone.
Very true. We are fortunate that he's alive to tell us the story. Look at his memory. He remembers every incident so vividly. Yes, interviewer could have asked better questions. But nobody had interviewed this legend in such a detailed way. So we're thankful to Kalamadhyama for that. I'm curious to know how his movies did in box office like sandhyaraga, Raja durga rahasya etc.
No doubt, i am thankful to Kalamadhyama for all their videos, especially this one with Bhagvan sir. But some basic questions, like all the movies in the last episode, if you do a google search the direction credits are with T.V.Singh Thakore and not Bhagvan sir. So we are missing some details which the legend Bhagvan sir would give if prompted by the interviewer. Anyways at least some great stories we are getting to hear after so many days.

Udaykumar was the most underrated actor in those days. I would argue his acting was on par with Rajkumar. Anybody who watched the movie" Hemavathi" can easily tell that role can only be played by Udaykumar. I think he was overshadowed by Dr. Rajkumar because he lacked the charisma Raj had.
