That's awesome he let you stay at his cabin. That's definitely a Maine thing. You know no matter where I go in the state, I'll meet complete strangers and sometimes they'll say "hey why don't you stay at my place tonight." That's Maine hospitality right there. Now I'm gonna go find some 9 mile blend to try. But I'm not giving up my Dunks. ;)

Mount Chase tea? That is pretty neat. We live in Mount Chase, and harvest our own teas from Fireweed and Goldenrod.

Haven't seen a grouse in Western NY woods for almost 10 years now. Been chasing fall turkey and stocked pheasants with my Boykin Spaniel. Good luck on your journey.

Gracie is great at both flushing and retrieving. Great partnership - and companionship. I have just cleaned four crowns of grouse (in freezer) but I was gifted them by someone else who hunted. Red grouse here in Scotland.
