@@heejunglee9685 I'd guess they're either in a different life stage (older than the standard Gibdo) or they're part of a different "caste." The boss is called the "Queen" and the Gibdos themselves are usually in groups, so they seem to be kind of like social insects on some level, even though a lot of the visual design of the Queen might be a bit more like a locust or cockroach. Social insects often have different "castes" in which different members of the colony have different body shapes depending on their role, for example soldier termites are larger and have bigger mandibles (those pincher mouthparts) than normal workers so that they can fight and defend the colony.
This boss fight was what I can best describe as fighting an accurate zombie horde. You wouldn't necessarily want to just expend effort and ammo slashing and shooting the undead. The correct way would be burning them as to soften them up then strike.
There is a hidden mechanic in the game, where every defeated boss adds to the world enemy difficulty meter so doing the lightning boss first is easier than doing it last cause you’ve just been adding health points to it if you do it last
Imagine coming into this fight straight after getting the paraglider, with no inventory slot upgrades from Hestu, and dying at least 8 times before even getting to Phase 2. Yeah, couldn't have been me...
@nategwright lol same then I ended up having trouble with fireblight later cause I was used to fast flurry timing by then not overly telegraphed flurry timing
This is my favorite boss, hands down. I have a soft spot for enemy designs that are genuinely unsettling, especially if they're insect or arachnid themed. I also like mushrooms so the Gibdo "pupae" were great as well, especially with the horrifying way in which they open. I love the Queen Gibdo's weird insect-like scuttling, and her charge attack actually had me saying out loud "NOPE NOPE NOPE." And I love her gross wings, that horrible droning sound evokes this deep level of... well, somewhere between horror and disgust. ...in fact she kinda makes me think a little bit about the huge Twilight Insect from Twilight Princess. The miniboss one from Lanayru. That was also a delightfully awful creature.
I an imagine if this were an anime you could see Urbosa and Riju fighting synchronized and that at the end of the battle with a killing blow from Riju, Riju could hear a snap coming from Urbosa's fingers, that would be the first time Riju, without Link's help, hit her target with a bolt of strong lightening.
The tune reminds me of a blend of the indian raga and something arabian. I did indian classical vocals for a decade and this shit reminds me of raag bhairav
I will never forget the gibdos during this fight. At this point in the temple I felt like I saw everything those freaks had to offer. Then this fight they were crawling rapidly through the sand and I had the fear of God put back in me
I didn't find any issues with the controls, but this was no doubt the hardest Main Quest boss fight for me. The latter phase with all the Gibdo was super overwhelming.
Buy the sand boots before the battle, eat tier 3 speed food/elixir and keep spamming Riju (lightning) and Yunobo (fire), hide the others if you have them. The fight is fun.
the gibdos suddenly sprinting on all fours felt like when a cockroach suddenly remembers it has wings
The Moth Gibdos can fly. Does that mean Moth Gibdos are smarter than normal Gibdos? Or are Moth Gibdos are more evolved than normal Gibdos?

Definition of “KILL IT WITH FIRE!”
Especially with all of the Gibdos that go on all fours and sprint at you Mach 6
you can litteraly kill it with fire
And lightning! And ice. And light...
And water
JUST USE LIGHTNING , LIGHT OR FIRE , THE ONLY USE FOR ICE IS FREEZING HER BEFORE SHE SLAMS THE TORNADOS UP MAN!!!
I really love the detail of the clickity-clackity of Queen Gibdo's fingers. It was kind of weird at first, but now it's fun to hear.
In the music btw
IT WAS HER FINGERS?! 😨
Queen Gibdo’s fight is the most chaotic of the Temple bosses, which is why it’s my favorite
mucktorok is also pretty chaotic, but queen gibdo is actually fun, unlike mucktorok
All the Gerudo quest was great

This boss was cool, chaotic, and terrifying at the same time. I hate gibdos
Dealing with QG and 4 nests of gibdos at once is the definition of "pure fucking shenanigans"
This fight was so impossible for my son he died so many times
@@jenniferfrancis1384yeah same lol, it took I’d say 4 hours, and like 30 tries
Let’s just appreciate they don’t have the same mechanics they had in OoT and MM 😭
Nah is so easy taking them down I was only need 2 hours (I wasn't know the mechanic)
this theme absolutely slaps. The time signature is all over the place and i LOVE it. Really gives off the chaotic vibes this battle has.
The 5/4 + 7/4 time signature is really crazy but fun
This is much harder when you rematch it in the Depths because the regular Gibdos deal gloom damage.
your mom deals gloom damage
I ignore the regular Gibdos during depths rematch, my focus is entirely on the queen.
@@GENZILLA-YT I at least try to destroy the hives so they stop spawning.
Same, and 90% of the time they don’t even get in the way, because I just kill the queen too fast@@GENZILLA-YT

When the gibdos started running full speed. Horrifying
This is some exorcist bullshit
This fight truly felt like you were fighting a monster or demon from the Arabian Nights or Egyptian myth!
I have tons of cracks on my screen and it looks like black lightning over Riju and with the music it sounds and looks AMAZING
DIDNT YOU LEARN ABNYTHING WITH THUNDERBLIGHT?! GO FOR THE DESERT LAST! THINK, LINK, THINK!
@@maybeaperson594 I was done Naboris the first. The others three was a nice walk when I was defeat Thunderblight

Love the alternating odd time signatures. Makes the fight feel more chaotic
Really love that bit at 1:04

Yeah, couldn't have been me...
Why do you love pure torture?
sounds not too dissimilar to me doing Naboris first in BotW and fighting Thunderblight with like 5 hearts
5? Amateur I only need three
@nategwright lol same then I ended up having trouble with fireblight later cause I was used to fast flurry timing by then not overly telegraphed flurry timing
Wait you got the paraglider?
As a violist, transcribing the viola part in this track and playing it was so much fun.

I cannot explain to you how much I agree with that
Everybody gangsta till da hi do starts flying
I love how it even moves like a cockroach-skittering around with rapid, uneven movements. My favorite boss and temple by far.
This got to the point where i just said fuck it and threw topaz at it
The Zelda bosses as Pokemon types:
Queen Gibdo - Bug/Ground
Mucktorok - Water/Poison
Marbled Gohma - Fire/Rock
Colgera - Ice/Dragon

Gibdos are ugly af but queen gibdo just looked like a shy lil gal 🥺
What the fuck
I loved her little "skiddadle" she did every time she walked
They Look scary as hell cuz theyre supposed to be scary as hell. And Look at the older gibdos. Not much better
better than a forx

i like that this boss reminds me of the boss from link to the past level 3, which is also a gibdo dungeon
I was soooo underprepared for the last dungeon boss............
If this was the boss Aladdin had to face instead of Jafar, Aladdin would have been clipped
At one part it kinda sounds like the gerudo theme. EDIT: 1:08 timing
Yes and the desert vibe. You can also hear it at 0:25.
I was litteraly out of breath after that shit
Seized Construct… WHEN??
This is even better than Colgera's battle theme IMO.
Those hands were built for stealing the trinkets
The song is amazing, but it sounds like hell to try to count
Nintendo missed a huge opportunity to put Gerudo valley in the theme

Interesting how Gibdos in this game look like mummies on the outside but their true form is more insectile in nature. Creepy. 🫣
