IN THE EARLY 70'S, MY STEP FATHER WAS THE OWNERS CPA. HE ALSO WAS ONCE GIVEN KEYS TO THIS AMAZING PLACE, TO JUST KIND OF CHECK ON THINGS WHILE WHOEVER WAS THE OWNER AT THE TIME, WAS AWAY. I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM TAKING US THERE, GOING THROUGH THE GATE ON A LATE FALL EVENING, THOSE BIG KEYS TO OPEN THE BIG DOOR, IT WAS SCARRY TO ME AND MY LITTLE BROTHER. SPOOKY, AND COLD IN THE RESIDENCE. NOW, JUST YESTERDAY, NOV. 3 RD, 2018, SINCE I LIVE HERE IN ASHEVILLE AREA, I WENT TO SEELY CASTLE. IDK IF THAT WAS WHAT IT WAS CALLED IN THE EARLY 70'S, BUT, I GOT OUT OF MY VEHICLE, JUST TO WALK AROUND THE ENTRANCE GATE, ALL SECURED TIGHTLY. WITHIN A EXTREME SHORT TIME THERE APPEARED A TRUCK, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD, APPEARING TO BE THERE, WATCHING ME. IT DID NOT SCARE ME, I WANTED TO CROSS THE ROAD , TO TALK WITH WHOMEVER IN THE TRUCK, TELL MY STORY/MEMORY OF VISITING THERE. I DIDN'T THOUGH. THAT TRUCK WAS STILL THERE WHEN I LEFT. I TOLD MY STORY LOOKING INTO THE SECURITY CAMERA ON SITE. ON THE RAZOR WIRED GATE, MAYBE THEY, WHOMEVER GOT A LIL CHUCKLE FROM MY STORY. ☺
I have lived in Asheville all of my life. Go back to Town Mountain Road and continue towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. The main entrance to the castle is gated and across from Old Toll Road. You can see it through the trees driving on the road.
I love how some of the comments are of people who have been inside the castle....... but yet, they don't say anything else except that it's awesome or neat.....sigh.
Man that brought back memories. Beaucatcher Castle, Helens Bridge and the reservoir below the castle. We used to go up there on Halloween back in high school. Lotta cool spots and history in Asheville if you know where to look. That was over 20 years years ago but everything still looks the same. If someone was curious enough I'm sure they could find a way to get some good up close footage of the castle and grounds. wink wink.......Good Vid
I'm a native of Asheville, my mother said that she served at a Gathering they're in the early 70s. She said it was creepy but did not experience any paranormal.
Where were you at 6:31? I know where to find this on Town Mountain Rd but falls right around the corner and I would like to get roughly the same view. Awesome video!
You got a pretty good shot of it. You actually passed Seely's on Town Mtn Rd. It's on the right about a mile after your turn on Town Mtn Rd. You'll see a road that is on the left that appears to go some what straight, and on the right you'll see a large gate with barbed wire at the top and lots of no trespassing signs. You'll be able to see some of the castle from the road.
@uspscsx yea u have to wonder about youtube and what they think is spam??? her comments were great and lots of great info, I think youtube removed the comments because they thought they were spam? Thanks for the great info!!!!!
I will in that place and it was a haunted house and it is very haunted I was born and raised in Asheville North Carolina and moral Mission Hospital so I know a lot about haunted places in Asheville North Carolina the whole Asheville is haunted
Hell at 6:25 I use that on ramp to I-240 Chunns Cove Rd every day and I have never noticed that. I have seen the place from Town Mtn but never from Chunns Cove. lol
That would've been my uncle Watson, better known as Boom Boom Banks, he and his brothers plus my dad done all of that work through there. Banks Brothers
I don't get it. It's actually not hard to find at all, especially with google maps which was available when this video was published. Why all the driving around?
@TheKennyKennyKenny Yes I believe so. Wonder why pomatoegirl's comments were flagged as spam? They all seemed accurate and informative. I also wonder about all the comments that were removed.
I think it’s odd that people are using it as a private residence. It would make such a great historical museum

You had confused Seely with Zealandia. The bridge you drove under is part of the old Zealandia estate.

LOL, no and neither are you...
