"He didn't get punished." He literally had to go through the most losses in the series in like 4 episodes. First, his relationship with Jesse, a person who was like a son to him, is totally wrecked. Then, his brother in law gets murdered infront and because of him, whilist the group of people who killed him take almost all of the money he worked for. Right after that, his relationship with his actual son and the rest of his family, including his wife is so drastically ruined as well. He then has to ask people that wronged him so much, people he hates so much, to give the rest of the money to his son as if it was from them.

However I am very relieved this wasn't just a rehash of the "it's a dream and Walters dead in the car" theory. In reality everything possible popular ending was shown in the final season. The midseason finale shows what it would've looked like if Walter had gotten away with it completely. You get to see Hank slap the cuffs on him, and you see what it would've looked like if he had died alone in that cabin hiding like a rat.

@@belgiancheesehead4778 Well... If we really think about it, when Walter first learned that his skills could be applied to cook meth, what was his end goal? To supply his family by any means necessary. He had his ups and downs with both Skyler and Walt JR. But as we see in the first episode, he seems unhappy, he's belittled by his son, wife, and brother in law, he lost his share in a million dollar business, he's stuck at a dead-end high-school teaching job, and on top of it, he gets diagnosed with cancer. I believe that Walter always had it in him, he just refused to show it. So this translates all the way to the final episode, where all of his goals are met, he killed everyone that stood in his way including Gus, he perfected a questionable but profitable art, saved Jessie from the Neo-Nazis, and in the end, he knows that his family will have enough money to supply them for good, while simultaneously getting revenge on the people who rejected him, he didn't get punished, he went through hardships for sure, but I think even Jessie went through more, as we see in El Camino, and he wasn't even the mastermind behind it all. Walter died on his own terms, as the video says, and this is confirmed by the apology he gives Skyler in the end, but that's just my take of it.

    >He failed to come even close to getting enough wealth to surpass Gray Matter's worth of $2.6 billion dollars or even what his share would have been worth by then which is around $720 million dollars
    >His family (if they do get the money from Gray Matter as Walt directed them to) will reject the money if they realize that it originally came from him which seems very possible. But this explanation is good too, makes sense, and I had heard that there was going to be a follow up. As TFT say, so much of this story was so carefully thought out and planned out and foreshadowed, it would not be surprising to find that they had planned this too.

This finale was a total victory for Walter White and I'm sure he died happy for what he did and what he created. The reason why is because...
Walter avenged Hank's death by killing Jack and the Nazis.
He said a proper goodbye to his wife and family.
Walter and Jesse both forgave each other of all the things that they did(the nods that they gave each other at the end)
Walter dies in a meth lab of who he has become. Of what he has created. Of how he created...Heisenberg
This finale was one of the best finales that I have ever seen. This show is the best thing that I have ever seen on television(beats all of the movies that watched). I really hope people will read this response because of what breaking bad means to me.

It's also possible to be an alternate telling from Saul's angle.

    • @adityamalhotra8702
      @adityamalhotra8702 7 лет назад +55

If you have seen the first 3 seasons of Better Call Saul, it's not entirely the prequel of Breaking Bad. Better call Saul begins with an old aged Saul watching an old advertisement which reminds him of himself during his struggling days and then from that moment on, the Flashback starts, and this flipover from Flashbacks to Present time( the time after events of Breaking Bad) has been shown atleast 3 times during first 3 seasons.
      1. I say there's a huge probability, that someone will knock on his doorstep and say "Yo Bitch, Mister White needs your help" (And if you're a fan , you know who I'm talking about".
      2. And during the present time, Saul is shown leading a miserable life as a dishwasher in some mediocre restaurant, if he gets the opportunity to practice law again, he would gladly take it. That's the reason he would gladly accept Walter White's case if he gets the chance.

I can't be the only one seeing this. When the cop goes to check Walt's pulse, he gets the reading and CLEARLY shakes his head back and forth (the universal gesture for "no"), even the other cop covering him with the pistol nods at him in confirmation. It would seem that if they got even the slightest sign of a pulse they would begin life-saving procedures immediately but they don't they just confirm what we already thought, barring some miracle in the ambulance where they bring him back to life, Walt is dead.

As you made quite clear that he could’ve survived the wounds, the question is, does he actually WANT to survive those wounds? Walt at that point had no point to keep on going. He had gotten his kids the cash, made amends with Skyler, helped Jesse escape, and even (kind of) resolved things with Gretchen and Elliot. The question really is, did Walter still have the will to live?

Walt deserved to become cured of his cancer and end up in prison.

To be honest though I don't think the show writers are too concerned with medical plausibility, I mean no way Gustavo was surviving that explosion long enough to walk out the room, I mean it was a cool shot and I wouldn't change it, but it would of been impossible due to his proximity and the size of the explosion.

His family loathes him; his one child wants him dead and the other will never know him and will be forever taunted as Heisenberg's kid; he was forced into hiding in less than ideal circumstances; he killed, not only people he hated, but many people he loved as well; he lost himself almost completely, only slightly regaining a part of himself when it was too late; his best friends want him dead; the only real victory he had was the fact his children were left the money he fought so hard to obtain, but that is literally the only good that comes out of the situation.
