My Dad and I have the 1/16 Fiestas (on road 1/16 Slash 4x4) that came with this motor and ESC in it. Both have Castle Sidewinders/4600 combos in them with the aluminum links like you mentioned. Strongly recommend those and the machined hollow balls as well as the aftermarket aluminum carriers. We just put the Hot Racing carriers on ours a couple weeks ago and they eliminated a ton of slop and are going to be even more heavily needed on their mini E-Revo and Summit.
I’ve got the 1/16 Brushless Summit as well as Revo. They’re an absolute blast, but the diffs are fragile. I need to go through and rebuild/shim them.
I bet some slow motion would have looked good going through the rocks towards the end of the video

Center Diff is a must but then it is a dream. I love watching the suppleness of the suspension. I recommend putting a TSM enabled receiver in it. Running mine with Louise RC Turbo tires which are a little taller but at the same time a little less wide

Still have my vxl brushless 1/16 Summit, along with my "1/10" Summit. Both are some of my favourite vehicles from Traxxas (the other one, the Traxxas Bandit). I also have an X-Maxx, though I find the 1/16 sized cars much more fun to play around with. If only Traxxas could release a new 1/16 brushless Traxxas Summit, with a no-clip body on it, that would be perfect. On the VXL Summit I have, I do not think lights were included on the car stock, as I have mounted some lights on it. Though the lights are more a hazzle, than actually useful, at least the lights on the body. Lights on the chassie however are somewhat useful, and do not get in the way whenever you change the batteries. Funny that they out at 12 turn motor in such a small vehicles. It has been a while now, but is that not the same motor as on the "1/10" Summit, or perhaps that motor has a different turn rating.
Best little platform. Summit is suchba fun little ripper on 2s, and the erevo xvl afterwards few mods is so much fun.
Nice vid Mark. I had the vxl version when they first came out, but I ended up trading it off. The brushless power was way too much for the high COG that it has, so it stayed on its roof most of the time. I still have my 1/16 slash vxl and it's stupid fast, even on 2s. You may wanna stick with the stock motor. The BL2S would be way too much for that little guy. They do look cool though.
I had the mini Revo and did not like it. I put 100wt oil in the shocks and they still would not dampen the truck enough. Sold it.
I have the mini revo vxl and I love it. Perfect little truck to throw in a backpack and rip around, 2s is the perfect amount of power to rip around while still being controlled, then throw a 3s in it and turn the tsm up a little and 50 mph rips.
That and the mini E Revo are the only 2 I have never owned. That might change this week

I have one of the old VXL mini summits and on 2s its just silly! Wheelie bar is a must and I swap over the merv rocker arms to slower the stance. I still think its one of the best backyard bashers with its small size and crazy power.
What's the old VXL look like? I bought one used and I was thinking I was buying a full sized one and I think I got the Mini...
I miss my 1/16 summit it was super fun. Will try to get my hands on another one someday

I have this truck the first generation, with all the mip hop ups.. and a sidewinder brushless system,, crazy fast... and so much fun... and the rally ,, 1/16,, nicely upgraded,, u have to lower it just a lil.. and then it's good... blessings MSM family,

You gotta find the brushless version. Laugh riot. The wheelie bar is a must. I have one that we call the Surevo. A mutt. Because at one point so much was wrong with it, I bought a Revo roller. Modified the body to retain the wing. The lower stance lessens the rolls. And in minutes I can convert it to a Revo. 2S is fun. With street tires and 3S it's hilarious. Also have the big brother.

They still sell the brushed model that has a Titan 12t in it, you can always put a 540 or 550 sized brushless system those😉
@GreenJeep1998 my son has the brushed one and it's really fun. I want a brushless one eventually now. I'm a big fan of the minis. Love my mini b and gonna build an lc racing truggy 4wd soon. Minis are huge at my track at rc madness on Enfield ct
Yeah i always wanted a summit even tho it has issues and likely will never get one since it's discountinued all of them avalaible in euroep is massively overpriced(more expensive than was when new) and also used so a 1/16 scale would be a good alternative... and luckily those are still avaliable....
