Thanks, Emily! I've seen other decorators use these for display, but I'd agree it's perfect for beginners, like myself, to get the practice in for those designs, and how to get sharp edges. I'll also locate squares/rectangles to work with as well!!

Yes! It’s a great way to practice without having to throw away lots of cake!

The tip of chilling the buttercream "glue" is great. The lightweight nature of the dummy cake has been very frustrating to me.
2:30 I suggest disposing of as much buttercream as possible in the garbage can before washing all that greasy frosting down the sink. Plumbers are expensive.

We saved money on our wedding cake using a cake dummy layer and pre-cut sheet cake pieces!

Great video! I’m wondering if used for display, how long will buttercream iced cakes last?

I worked in a bakery where they would display them for a month but by the end the bright colours would always start to run. I think it depends on temperature and humidity

Thanks for your video. Are you using American buttercream or Swiss Meringue buttercream to cover?

Hi. Can I use SMBC in place of ABC? Most of people don’t like ABC here. Thank you

Is there a way not to use actual buttercream and fondant but yet look realistic? Thank you xx

Are there other options out there for cake dummies made out of other materials? I mean other than styrofoam?

Great way to practice different techniques, however I was horrified to see the icing washed down the sink, should be scraped into the bin.

There’s an insinkerator in that sink but without one, yes that would be better!
