MacBook Pro... Love or Hate? What do you think?
Hey. I'm gonna study Computer Science next year and was thinking of getting a laptop with a ryzen 5. Can you suggest a decent one cus some tend to throttle and have bad battery life.
Asa Mavhungu probably a dell if you want windows but if you want to use macOS MacBook Pro 13 or 16 but it depends on your budget
Love it!
I love it. Honestly, it allows me to work nicely and I don’t feel like it’s in the way, like other laptops might be. I edit videos using DaVinci Resolve Studio 16 (it uses the GPU and Metal) and so far it’s performing as well as my GTX1070 desktop PC or even better sometimes. I have the MBP 16” maxed out, except the SSD, I have the 2TB version. My only complaints so far are about the fans that are relatively loud, and kick in kinda fast. Luckily the pitch of the fan noise is low. I also never thought I’d enjoy laptop speakers this much... I don’t mind the increase in size/weight to make the performance better. I also love the new keyboard, the butterfly kb was bad. Although, I do use a Logitech USB keyboard (KB120) for when I edit video. My only other problems are software related, like iPhone connection issues and I wish they included a NTFS driver by default so users don’t have to purchase a separate app for basic functionality. That’s about it. Oh, the SSD is crazy fast. 😳 Thanks Apple, for listening to your users and making a really great product. 🙏🏻
Love
Dammit Tom you took my title for my MacBook Pro review tomorrow 😂 Lots of fun shooting this video man, thanks for having me 👊
New Title... Why I've Switched 😂
Always great seeing you man 👊
Meanwhile I'm over here still using Asus Laptops X555DG AMD A12 & AMD RADEON 9700P :(
So, who's Jessica dear Saf? ;-)
@@cf9570 better than Intel HD520 graphics so be thankful 😓😓😓
you need to get over yourself
Absolutely love this video format - honest, fun and just carefree talking about REAL thoughts on these tech products.
Been a long time since tech reviewers made such fun and chill video
By far one of my favourite tech videos... might be the natural appearing, laid back set up. Also I’m predominantly a windows user but this MacBook has caught my attention.
Take a drink everytime we use a RUclips cliché 😂

"We're just in Hawaii for a work trip". Don't rub it in, mate. Haha.
😂
The Tech Chap How this work trip planned? Because you guys work independently as you tuber, not under any company or so, so how it’s not a personal or same interests youtuber trip but a work trip?
Awesome guys, you had a natural back and forth, more collaboration please😁
Best review so far.
feels like an honest talk/review , whick is rare ... thx
Props for the airplane shot!
This was great!
This laptop is great. I currently have a Galaxy Book Flex and an ROG Strix Hero 3. I mostly use my laptops for gaming, programming, photo and video editting. Galaxy Book Flex is my main daily driver but this MacBook has caught my eyes. I now can go ahead and buy this one. All thanks to u're review and this clear opinion. I hope u a 1 MIL soon!!
Love to see a 2019 phone comparison with both of you in one video
This is so much fun! You guys should do more together
Love your reviews of tech, its a shame that most reviewers do not mention the noisy fans issues, the crippled thunderbolt using external displays and the lack of framerates on certain models. please let your viewers know these things (its also in google searches) before they buy. Thanks and cant wait for more reviews
Great talk and awesome review
Awesome video dude!❤
you guys work well together good review
Respect ✊
A lot of RUclipsrs would hide this. Wooof
dont delay call Louis rossman today lol
What would people hide? There are so many postive reviews about MacBooks...
Tally! Why aren't you verified yet?
Now I'm ready to SWITCH!
From my MacBook Pro Mid-2015...
Great video guys 😀
Great chemistry guys....do more videos together.
The best thing about Mac OS are the gestures. I use a touchpad 2 with my iMac. Having different desktops set up with multiple windows and being able to scroll across so seamlessly is the best part. It's just so awesome. And now with being able to use the iPad as another screen, that just adds so much more functionality to the Mac. I switched over in 2015 and I will never go back...I just can't imagine going back to Windows. People have to understand the Apple tax or whatever people like to call it is absolutely justified. Mac is not selling MacOS licenses. They have to create, update and innovate MacOS based only on Mac sales. Each Mac includes Pages, Garage Band, iMovie. Pages alone is fantastic, and iMovie is great for people who just edit for youtube or just for the hell of it. The build quality of the Mac is top notch. The only other manufacturer that regularly uses a single sheet of aluminum to build its chassises is Razor, and they are also very expensive. Apple gives the fastest SSDs (on most machines). The best speakers in most cases. The way MacOS communicates with iOS is something no other company can provide. Not to mention how amazing and useful the watch and pad have become. Whatever "tax" is charged, it is worth it, and it is absolutely justified. In my opinion of course....
right On. The cost given how long they historically last actually make it a very good deal in the long run. You Have to look at it long term.
Your´re great together! Such nice chemistry
I love these kind of collab videos of Mkbhd,Supersaf,Austin Evans,Uravgconsumer,Supersaf,iJustine,Tech Chap,Dave2d,Linus,Jonathan Morisson❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE MY NEW 16! AND THE TOUCHBAR! MY 1ST!.... love it ALL the way around!
Sorry you guys came to Hawaii with all this rain and wind right now. Hope you guys get to fully enjoy it with better weather
Love this calandras guys
As a recent Mac convert, I find it highly unbelievable that two recent converts would not find it inconvenient that there are only thunderbolt ports.
I have been wanting to convert since 2018, but with the new mbp16 I’m more willing to convert now. I have been keeping this in mind and have been buying dongles and any usb stick I need brand new, I get as a usb-c input as well as it coming with a usb-a adapter for my outdated college computers. So I think a lot of prosumers will plan ahead before converting and the majority will plan ahead.
@@matthewstevens2960 It really depends on what you do. I still find myself needing a proper hub with USB-A ports from time to time, despite having obtained numerous adapters and even replacement cables for external drives. The industry as a whole is slow to catch up. Millions of devices still ship with USB-A cables and connectors even today. Not to mention that Apple itself still uses the proprietary lightning connectors on their mobile devices.
Thunderbolt is far superior to any other connector. You can buy cheap adapters to run pretty much anything through it. I wouldn't want legacy IO taking up space tbh.
Lovely talk!
this is the future of tech news-.-pro info and fun 10 points
For graphic design, video editing and motion graphics, is it worth upgrading the video card or the ram (if you can only upgrade one)?
Fun video guys, nice work! :O)
So the new MAC has usb ports SD,,,,etc and no more needs for dongles and u can open MAC to clean it and you upgrade the RAMS and SSD and apply thermal-past for CPU?
Hey, I noticed that the enter key on your MBP 16 is a bit different. How can I get this version?
0:58 seems techtubers need to remind their audience about that on every video about Apple or Apple products.
I keeping thinking if Tech Chap is running by a relative of James McAvoy.😳
Awesome video!
What is the brand and model number of the USB-C to USB 3 & SD Card hub you used in this video? Do you have a link for this product you can share?
best investment i made. I actually love the Touch Bar, so using a program like Atom there might be some shortcuts you wish was a key that you can quickly press, well... you can find a extension in Atom that allows you to do so, so i have a couple shortcuts right there. Timesaver, so no... definitely not a gimmick for people that need it. Webcam is not really an issue, good for doing quick FaceTime but I don't even use it for any other thing, and most of the time I'm doing FaceTime on the phone.
two favourite in one Frame 🔥
bro plzzzzzz
technically over 450,000 frames but ok
@@xers8719 Even techincally u r wrong. Because the meaning of frame here is different.
LOVE U GUYZ
I got the 8tb MacBook just for watching videos and Facebook I love it
16-inch Macbook Pro seems impressive with its slight improvement in 'Magic' keyboard, slimmer bezels, having 6 powerful speaker audio, intel core i9 CPU, and a larger battery, which I'm into ;)
However, it's still not a 4k display and has no SD card or full-size USB. Also, the webcam's still terrible :-:
I started with a PowerBook G4, then a 2011 MacBook Pro, then a 2018 MacBook Pro with a now upgraded 2019 MacBook Pro keyboard. Dropped it a couple of months ago and the insurance company paid out. Never had an issue with any of these. I will upgrade next when they get a good front facing camera, WiFi 6 and ARM processors. No need to do anything till then unless they bring out a Matt Black MacBook Pro.
So after all this time you still use this macbook or have you switched?
Which brand was the usb-c dongle?
can you link the dongle you use?
2400, no.... but 2799 for the 1tb and 16gb ram 8-core, yes.
Will recommend the extra $400 for the upgrade for someone who just uses it for basic web browsing ?
At 5:55 the sd card slot comment triggered my Siri, lol

dell xps 15 7590 vs mackbook pro 13 2.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
which is the best .. plz suggest me .
plz tell me..
Was considering getting one, but can't justify the cost at the moment. Instead, I'm doing some upgrades / repairs on my 2013 MBP. Plus, my son is into "taking things apart" so that experience in itself may make it worth the wait :)
So... Can you mount a RAID 0 on this machine? (only with internal storage)
You two make a good combo
Great Video!
What is that enter key on your 16 inch
Which dongle TB-3 adaptor did you both use?
5:20 - Whats with the joke about One Drive? I use it and love it??
TTC said "You don't have OneDrive?" interrupting SuperSaf's "You need good signal."
They need to listen more and put all the ports BACK in it like the 2015. The track pad could be a little smaller too, I don't need arm exercise.
I switched from the 2015 13inch macbook pro to the new 16inch and honestly it was the best decision ever! I completely avoided all of the butterfly keyboard issues 😂
😂 great video, I’m still thinking of getting a macbook to edit my youtube videos for my channel, but my iPad Pro works well enough that i dont want to pay for a new computer 😆
Wait, why is your keyboard different than other 16in MacBook pros?
What kind of cable do you use at 4:14?
Well I just got a specked out Lenovo Yoga C940 15 inch. And for the price and performance it stacks up well against the Mac Book 16 inch. Also the 4k screen is a deal breaker for me.
Did they at least fix the speaker problem where they would over heat and blow out???
Highly enjoyable video :)
Thanks
which one is better macbook pro or xps 15 for programming?
How do you fix the audio crackling problem?
For me it would be perfect if it had a touchscreen and a pen support so guess I'll stick with my surface book 2 for now
About the trackpad, I am not sure if I am alone hating it is that big. Because of the huge size of it, it's rather easy to mistouch it while typing then cause the cursor showing up somewhere else. To avoid this, I have to be very careful about the gesture of my hands when I am typing and this makes my hands sooo tired if I type a little longer.
First time collaboration?
We are testing two new 16-inch MacBook's before doing a rollout across our organization. Under low loads (25% cpu utilization), fan noise will get annoyingly loud. We're not doing any GPU related and more routine work such as: using web applications, debugging web pages, Microsoft Teams conferencing (audio/video) with a handful of people, Photos downloading from iCloud, Mac Mail downloading a new mailbox from Exchange.
We DID NOT notice this on our 2015 MacBooks and this might prevent us from continuing the 16-inch MacBook rollout in our organization.
Interested to hear others experiences.
Tim

7:45 this video was made with the office in mind
Damn I can’t wait to watch Rise of the Jedi when it comes out
I will be getting this MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 in the next 2 years lol 😂
Im not a MAC user at all but this is good video. I still like my surface pro. Thumbs up.
...and I sit here watching this video on my 17" MBP...
I brought the macbook pro 16 in and kept it for 1-2 weeks before returning it. The main reason for me to return it was because I noticed some random screen glitches. I assume it was ether software/or hardware issue or a combo of both. But for 2800$ it was unacceptable. My configuration was the 6 core i7, 32gb ram, upgraded 8gb 5500 graphics
Other minor issues I had are:
1. Trackpad is too big and I keep misclicking with my palm
2. Keyboard is too small. Didnt like the location of the Fn key.
3. Power brick is too big and takes up too much space in the outlet. The angle of the usb c that plugs into the macbook is terrible and is an accident waiting to happen. Wished they bring back magsafe
4. Battery life was too low. Had about 5 hours doing basic browsing and video watching with screen brightness turned down like 4-5clicks. Took about 3-4 hours to do a full charge. (super slow)
5. The auto on function was super annoying (found a way to disable it through the terminal)
6. Catalina was too laggy and slow for my taste.
please make a video about lenovo ideapad s540...if you will make it i will be greatful to you.
The 16” isn’t the largest that Apple created. Several generations of MBP ago, the had the 17” ....
is surface laptop 3 good for web developer?
Ugh I am so confused if I should go all out and get MBP 16 ($2700) or just go with basic Surface Laptop 3 ($1000). So hard to choose. I code and do heavy simulations sometimes but Im like am I really going to do that on a laptop? I have a desktop for that.
Probably don't need to shell out the extra 1700
Hey, i'm coming all the way from a late 2013 mbp 13in and thinking of getting this, but the most i use is lightroom / capture one, some video editing but very small no pro stuff for sure, so which version should i go for guys?
atyl1972 the base version of 16” is fine for you I think. It still has 4gb graphics and 16gb ram with 512ssd with 9th gen i7
Guys, use Stacks option on your desktops! 😁
I wish Apple made it 17". I own and still use the 17" MBP and it's a true desktop replacement. Still going after almost 10 years, which has saved me thousands in not having to buy any other machine. Needless to say, I won't be buying a new laptop until I find a worthy 17" laptop, ideally from Apple but now I doubt they'll ever do it.
