Police: Group wielding 'landscaping bricks' chased shooter as fight turned deadly in Fort Worth

- Two people were killed and three others hurt in a fight overnight Monday that led to a crowd chasing a shooter with landscaping bricks, Fort Worth police said.
Police said officers responded around 1 a.m. to the call on the 5600 block of Shiloh Drive.
When they arrived, they pronounced two people dead at the scene, and first responders took three other people to local hospitals for treatment. One person was still critical while the other two were expected to survive their injuries, according to police.

@@justasingledoor5178 no apparently the police need more funding as if when somebody hops out a van busting the cops just magically appear. People these day's don't even have the slightest bit of common sense.
@@codyhighroller Defunding the police doesn't necessarily mean taking away money from policing. It means, for example, that certains tasks, which police handle now, should be allocated to other services. Example: the police should not be called for mental illness cases UNLESS the person in question is an immediate threat to him/herself or others. At the moment police often get called in these situations which escalates the situation, because the police are not trained to deal with such matters. It can also mean allocating funds to communities (schools, rec-centers, etc...) to help prevent crime instead of just reacting to it. It's a proactive approach rather than a reactionary one. I hope this helps.
They’ve been needing to hire more phone dispatchers since I moved from that sick and dying city 4 years ago. FWPD are dirty as sin. The whole force needs to be put under investigation.

Nothing helps a busy phone system like hanging up and calling again or having others call also. That way the operators can waste time answering new calls instead of dealing with existing calls. Idiots.

Well the cops *were* worthless as usual in a situation like this. But how does that home defense saying go? While seconds count, the police are *minutes* away.
@@NB-gu9rs I think (and hope) maybe they meant because 911 was being ridiculous and the cops were nowhere to be seen. There's zero accountability and they enjoy the lion's share of any city budget, much like the federal defense budget, but they don't actively keep the country safe. The mission of the police is not to protect people, but to uphold the law (especially arbitrary laws) *against* the people.
What happen to defunding the police? This area of Fort Worth was pretty dead set on defunding all law enforcement. Deal with your own issues. It's not the polices fault that your friend died sorry. At the end of the day your suppose to protect yourself, not depend on others.
