Athena (in the rewind game towards the end) could have won way faster if she was more aggressive. She left her 4/4s back 3 times to either block a 2/1 or because there were two creatures ready to block (even tho she coulda pinged one with end bringer)
18:05 I’ve already built a “Dark Moon” deck that uses Crack the Earth to get rid of the Blood Moon/Magus of the Moon. It also runs Solemnity, Vampire Hexmage, and Thespian’s Stage. (EDIT: link posted in reply). It needs work, but it can often manage turn two or three, sometimes turn one, Marit Lage (I use both Spirit Guides and I use Lotus Petals).
D Hull unfortunately, I don’t know yet. There aren’t enough Legacy players at the LGS I go to to play an actual tournament, so the only decks I’ve played against are Mono Red Burn (two different versions) and some modern decks (which never have much of a chance, except one that ran four Pacifism). I’m still working on it here and there, tweaking it for faster plays like adding Godless Shrine and Blood Crypt (which will eventually be duals). I keep finding new ways to make it faster, like Godless Shrine turn one into Enlightened Tutor can set up a Lotus Petal so I have two black for a turn two Hexmage without wasting my land drop and I can play Dark Depths that same turn. Ancient Tomb was another choice that came later that lets me turn a green mana into two colorless which can really come in handy.
Question to the Legacy Veterans: Game 2, if I´m Matt Nass, I would have tried to cast Lotus Petal before playing my Land+THoughtseize. Would have tried to bluff him into forcing my Petal, expecting me to not have a land, since I revealed a nonland hand to Probe Turn 1. What do you think about that play?
It’s worth maybe trying, but the likeyhood of him biting is almost zero. Matts spells aren’t uncounterable, so it’s much better to just wait and counter what he plays off the petal.
If it was a Mox of some kind, so it would be a permanent source of mana, that would be more possible to be countered. But one shots like ritual or petals are always just waited to counter the spell they play off it, unless u are playing against against a storm card or uncounterable card of some kind.
I don't know how someone can play this horrible and ridiculous format, two colours lands that enter like basics, lands that destroy other lands by tapping, counters that can be played w/o paying mana.. and more -.-
You noticed that he lost the match, because the opponent was able to interact in the following games? Also going for the t1 kill was quiet risky without protection. A fow or a daze and that t1 kill becomes a nightmare. How many other t1 kills did you see? Where exactly did you miss interaction? Legacy interacts on all possible levels of mtg, not just the battlefield. Maybe you just don't recognize it.
fact 1: legacy is still the most interactive competitive format
fact 2: sometimes it's still very stupid
@@Costone90 Are you trolling right?
Imagine If WoTC cared about the game an not the 40 year old investors.. That's why counterfeits exist.. F WoTC and F over priced pieces of cardboard.
I have never seen Matt Nass win after turn 1
Wow I just learned what hold priority is :D THANK YOU !!!
The format that the Reserve List is strangling out, ladies and gents. What a turn.
LaserfaceJones you’re looking for vintage my friend
matt nass was looking for the KCI

Matt Nass. That crazy game 1.

@@pennybuttercup902 Cool deck, how does it match up against control?

4c-control? More like Grixis Pyromancer with a single Tropical for DRS. Just saying, we don't call Grixis Delver 4-delver either...
Having to draw a card then turn it around every time because you can’t remember which way your deck is facing would drive me nuts.
best game one ever......EVER

Re explain please?

Wilson also knew that Matt kept the card on top of his library when he scryed, highly indicating that he had a land there.
What a game 1....
AW that sucks I wanted Matt Nass to win
Jeff Hoogland. Blood Moon Depths. I donated for it :)
Alex Brown you gave money to that nut?
At least the cool deck did cool things once.
dan musser whooped my ass in a tourney once.
Well that was hilarious.
Turn 1 kill deserves to lose games 2 and 3.
Wilson tapped a bloodstained mire for mana to cast the pyromancer in game two and no one caught it…lol at 21:08
You mean the basic mountain?
I don’t understand how this is fun or interactive. The opponent game 1 just sat there watching doing nothing. Same for so many games from this gp.
Legacy is a terrible format - expensive and ridiculous, as you observed

Did you watch the rest at all? That was all interaction

Eric Osuna you’re honestly jealous that you’re not playing. Everyone that plays legacy knows it’s the best format
