Have been looking for a video with the Meshify 2 and the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 for a while now and this is the only video I've found. Thank you!
This video is so hard to find. I found it on a reddit post. This is the only proof I've had of the 420mm radiator conflicting with the front fans. Thank you!

I got notification of your review seconds before the GN review. Maybe just buy some automotive sound deadening material and DIY the back panel. Score! on that AIO.
Great video. I notice you haven't put the case into storage mode for all those HDs I saw in your old build? Would you say that the 420mm AIO would interfere if the case was in storage mode?? Looking at building the same system myself :)
Great video! Very useful, to me. (I've bought the Fractal Meshify 2 RGB case & I was worried that a 420mm radiator won't fit on top. So, I will buy a 360mm AIO).
The solid black version of this case would be even nicer, and for the icing on the cake, the define 7's sounddampened top and back panel. (Which DO fit)
wanted to buy the same case-cooler config but didn't know if it fit. thanks for the confirmation, it was really helpful. I was wandering if you could fit 3 120mm fans in the front with the cooler or just the two (hard to see in the video), or just in general what fan configs can you put in the front with this case and cooler. great video
So we cant add 3x140mm fans in the front when using a 420mm radiator on top? Is that what you mean when said "the tubes are interfering with the front 140mm fan"?
@@CraftComputing thanks for your reply. Hm... maybe a 360 + 3x120/140 + 120/140 back will work. Currently having a hard time to figure out which case / cooling setup i should choose.

Careful with xmp 4400mhz profiles, they tend to pump voltage to the memory controller and often way more than you need, just make sure the mobo doesn't cook the IMC. some manual attention is required on those.

Meshify 2 with Asus Rog Strix B550-f gaming & Crucail Ballistix 3600mhz 16 x2 low profile ram = Arctic Liquid II 420mm up top or have to go with Arctic Liquid II 360mm? Thank you in advance ......Also does he have 2 140mm fans in the front or 120mm?
if you dont need the 11+ slots for HDDs/SSDs, or a beefy boy 420mm top mounted radiator, are there any reasons to elect for this other than the meshify C?
Seems like a good case to replace my old TrueNAS case with and lots of room for new HDDs. Not really looking to start a home lab, just no space to put a rack at the moment!

Awww meow meow :) I have a white Meshify 2 coming this week, and in it will be going a 3950x/2080Ti (Tie! :P ) setup on an Asrock x570 Taichi board. I'll even buy the Thunderbolt addon card and see if it works. Doing this because I got the mobo in the Newegg shuffle when I also got my 5950x, and I also have enough parts that I could just build a PC with the remaining old stuff. This will be my first ever white build, and my first ever build where I care about RGB. Going for a bit of a showcase here with the white case, but I still care a lot about airflow. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with this thing. I have 2 gaming pcs running 3090s, and a 3970x box in a Meshify 2 XL that's running a Radeon Pro W5700. Any ideas, other than "you should give it to me lol"? :) Sure, I do homelab stuff, but 4x high end PCs is pretty overkill (considering a 3950x/2080Ti/64GB/10GBaseT box to be "high end" here still, given the shortages). I could... give it away to family members, but these people care as much about tech related stuff as I care about making sure I'm all caught up on Law&Order SVU, and would neither appreciate or use the thing. Maybe there's a good worthy cause out there, like the Make a Wish Foundation or something, and I could make someone really happy.
Just ordered meshify2 and freezer2 420 last week cause I wanted a smaller case than XL... I was hoping to run 3x 14mm fans in front and one on the back :/ can you fit 3 14mm fans on the front wit that cooler?
So. I just tried to install this cooler in this case and it doesn't fit. The shroud on my Crosshair Vi Hero is in the way. I'm wondering if the 360 will fit...
In order for intel to remain competitive with AMD, intel has essentially given up on efficiency. Their CPUs are pulling a ton of power now. And most of the tech youtubers really don’t talk about it much apart from giving the temps.
I just built almost this exact build, Arctic freezer 420 in the meshify 2. Different motherboard (ASRock X570 Taichi). I’m getting an issue where if I have any static buildup and touch the case it will shock and the system will reboot. Did you have any issues with grounding with the radiator resting against the I/O?
Awesome! Did you change something with the radiator/fans so they can fit or was it just luck? The RAM should have ~42mm height but the manual of the case states that only 36mm component height is supported. Also does the side can be closed with the radiator in this position? I read that it may interfere with the clips to open the side panel.
@@Mattjunior I am very curious about your findings! I was wondering this too. If you look up the specs it shouldn't be able to fit. I would like to know how thick a radiator with fans can be, before it's going to interfere with the RAM-height. I would really appreciate if you would share your findings :)
@mattipoeka1 @S_Wildenberg Nope, the 420 does not fit on my Define 7. It could be a tight fit if you remove the rear fan and got low profile RAM (got Corsair LPX) but in my case the X570 Tomahawk has such a huge heatsink over the VRMs at the IO shield which is in the way for the 420. After what I have seen other X570 boards got a similar heatsink. But the 360 keeps my Ryzen 5900X really cool under high load (Prime95 with small FFT, < 60°C in Stock) without really ramping up the fans. Activated on Ryzen Master the Auto OC feature and tested this as well, the fans got more noticable but temps steady at ~75°C. I'm kind of impressed. The 7200RPM HDD is the loudest part of my case while stressing the CPU ;)
@@Mattjunior Thanks for your answer! I couldn't wait, so I ordered my pc parts and crossed my fingeres that everything would fit ;P In my case, the AIO only has about 4 mm of clearance before it touches the RAM when I mount it in the top of my case. Even though I thought it wouldn't fit, becasue (according to Fractal) the max RAM height is 36 mm if you mount a 360 or 420 AIO in the top. FYI: I got a Fractal Design Meshify 2, an Asus Maximus XII HERO with Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro. My AIO is a Corsair H150i. In my case (and probably yours too, because the internals of the Meshify 2 and Define 7 are identical I think) I had to mount my 360mm AIO in the slot closest to the window-side. If I would want to fit a 420mm AIO I have to remove the rear fan and the highest front fan.
Hey, thanks for this great video! Do you think there is any way to mount 3x 140mm fans in the front with that radiator in place? Would appreciate any input!
Nope, i almost have this exact build, its impossible. 3x120 doesnt work either because the screw holes for wont line up. Best u can do is 2x140 or 2x120
I'm about to build Meshify 2 PC. Do you think it's worth getting the Define 7 acoustic panel for it? I wonder if it makes any difference in such an open airflow case.
This is just the video I was looking for! Would you say that a Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 would be a better fit for the Meshify 2 given the clearance issues. Or is a 360 a better option? Ez thumbs up on this vid!
Quickly checked and the store page for the Patriot Viper says it is 43mm tall, same as the G skill (Trident Z neo). I saw a comment elsewhere that RAM has to be 36mm or less for this cooler, but it MIGHT just fit if the Viper does. Little worried about the 140mm exhaust not fitting.
@@alilwierd I chickened out and returned the 420 for the 360 version. I don't think a 420 is a good way to go in this case if you don't have low profile everything.
@@virtuo-uk idk the ram he has is literally the same height i feel like it would be fine why would you need 140mm exhaust on the back? just take it and put it at the bottom and order another one and put a 120mm in the back.
Bit of a fragmentary flow. The case looks too big for the hardware, I know it's right, but the design specs are usually 1mm... So seems to be about right. All those drives... when you said reload all the content back...You know with win10 as it will swap systems the best place for work is centered on a SAN or DAS. I've pretty much given up on "local" storage in favour of "one place" storage and access, for the ease of workflow and back up. But less time having to even consider reinstallations or downloading as it is just one repo... Fractal design cases are nice and multi function, they could be better, I'd like to lose some width, and some length, but they do other models. But not mini's or midi's of the same design and layout.
The last pc I built was in 2015. I had bought a Define r5, an Asus z87-pro mb, 24Gb of hyper x ram, an i5-4690k @ 4.8Ghz with an evo 212 cooler, and a 1060 6Gb. :) Asus's oc program was awesome and did everything from the oc to fan profiles automatically. Only had it for about a year. Gave it to this asshole wanna-be Marine to shut him the fuck up. He kept threatening to take me to small claims court with his grandfather. This was after I had left him with the apartment we were renting together. I found out he was doing hard drugs and cheating on his gf, so I left immediately. He had tracers in his arms and shit. He wanted like $2000 for bailing on him so I just gave him the pc. He was my friend for almost 5 years man. Still have the drives from that pc. Went and bought a MSI GS65-9SD laptop in 2019 and I love it.

Did you say 420
