@emmanuelu listen that's fine you can like it but the fact of the matter is the VAST majority of the fan base fucking hated it and is WIDLEY regarded as the biggest flop in television history when it comes to finales. The writers simply quit on the series they have even been quoted saying they were getting tired of it and it fucking shows. So your opinion is fine and stuff but don't be out here acting like yall arent living on an island over there.

My honest thoughts on GoT:
S1-4 - Flawless. Absolutely sensational television. It delivered every single episode. Masterpiece
S5-6 - Has weak moments, but also the greatest episodes. Overall I’d say they’re solid 8/10s.
S7 - The decline became visible. Below average
S8 - Depressing

That's about my take as well. Season 5 is where thinks partially take a huge turn for the bad, particularly with the Sansa storyline, but things are still done well overall.
Still, the biggest problem (save for perhaps the extreme rushing of the last two seasons) is that as soon as they got past the books we saw that D&D couldn't write like George at all. We go from extremely well put together character-driven writing to pure plot-driven writing that really throws proper character motivation aside and just aims for cheap sensationalism.
Laughable take. Season 8 had 2 of the show's best episodes and the other episodes ranged from ok to good. The outrage over the final season was some of the stupidest online discourse I have ever seen.
@@Regenmacher175 The episode Cogman wrote was fine since he actually still seemed to care and has talent, but D&D was hilariously bad in their writing at that point. Very inconsistent character portrayals, huge gaps in logic, ending major plot arcs without providing any point to it, making decisions based purely on contradicting what they've spent seasons on building towards, etc.
It's wonderful irony that they also just wanted to rush through the last two seasons so they could make their Star Wars movie, but that screw up cost them that opportunity.
@@Evil_Peter your inability to get meaning from the ending of the show is not the show's fault. Everything's right there and doesn't feel inconsistent to me. The Bells is the best episode of the entire show...but you might need to interpret what you're watching. Thematically, the show is consistent throughout. Maybe you just don't like the point the show is making but that's a "you" problem.
Also, they worked 2 years on 6 episodes...they weren't rushing anything.
I still remember early spring 2011... seeing commercials and behind the scene looks for this new show called Game of Thrones on the Armed Forces Network... and thinking this show is going to bomb... Here we are almost 15 years later

I doubt they're going to kill Daemon this season. They're going to need time to build a rivalry with him and his nephew, so they can earn that epic moment. Besides, considering how loved Daemon is. They'll want to milk that character for all he's worth.

Season 8 was on par with Rise of Skywalker for me.
Season 8 was far far more coherent than Rise. Its just the outcome of Thrones was never meant to please everyone like other franchises
Season 8 of GOT was good. Episodes 1 and 4 were the weakest episodes of that season but still ok, episodes 2 and 5 were among the best of the show's history and episodes 3 and 6 were good. Overall, people just hated on the final season because a) that always happened even with great seasons of GOT, b) it was the final season and c) some people wanted a different plot to happen. Not the show's problem the audience didn't want to analyse the implications of Dany's vast power and her desire for power in more detail. Everyone was happy for the show to subvert various fantasy tropes but when the supposed saviour turns out to be a dark messiah instead or when the ice zombies turn out not to be the final antagonist that's going too far? Get outta here.

He will 100% bend the knee to her. Not only does he LOVE her, she's at the core of everything he stands for. BUTTTTTTTTTTT......... I think deep inside, he wants that throne for himself..... and CLEARLY he struggles with that. I will say that I don't think Daemon Targaryen will die in Season 2.... BUTTTTTTTTTTT.......... I think he will die eventually. ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD he's gonna take someone with him on his way out! :P
