    I love Will Smith. I was ready to move on very shortly after the slap. For me, it's over. But y'all keep forgetting about Chris Rock. He was the one that was slapped, and humiliated. And I would NEVER trust the Academy if they went back on their word, and no person should trust the Academy if it can't follow through with its decisions, especially those made to PROTECT their guest. Let's move on, please, but don't forget the victim and the judgment. Of course, I have my personal opinion about Chris Rock moving on, too; but my opinion for the victim is worth nothing. Let that man get over it in his own time, and I have absolutely no problem with whatever he feels. The rest of us need to be empathetic but move on. As far as I'm concerned, Will Smith is still an A1 guy, and one of my favorite people on earth.

      I don't think any sane person would think that was the right move in that time and place. Like if a cop insulted your wife....would you go into a police station and slap him. He could have fought him afterwards in the parking lot. It's not just about what he did...it's the message he sent. And considering that they let him accept an award after, just shows they're all a bunch of a moral people. And it was a freaking lame joke. How could you be so long in the industry and have such a thin skin. Anyways 10 years is supposed to discourage anyone else from repeating it.

    The first "IF" reactions you had covered were also largely good and you had been talking about the greatness of Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski because of them, and with 90 actual reviews it's sitting at 54% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not sure if early/first reactions should be given any serious weight or really covered at all given general selection bias for positivity and the fact that first reactions are not coming from professional reviewers but from random moviegoers. I wouldn't be surprised if the "best yet" Bad Boys movie ends up getting tepid or mediocre score once critics are able to review it.

    • @MisterFoxx
      @MisterFoxx 22 дня назад

      He literally starts off acknowledging IF's reviews haha. And we shouldn't really listen to "professional reviewers" in the first place lol. Also, some people who review movies that get counted on Rotten Tomatoes, were at early screenings. So a lot of people who saw the movie were not really random moviegoers. There were a lot of people who are in media, not just outsiders, who I think will love it more than these "professional critics". I can believe if this movie is better than the last one.

  • @MisterFoxx

    The 10 year ban is overkill if you look at it from a macro perspective. That analogy about assaulting one of your party guests is not a fair or even comparison. Because let's say your "A" guest is talking shit or cracking a joke about your "B" guest's appearance or their wife's appearance, (whether its shitty joke or not, it can still rub someone the wrong way) and the B guest slaps A guest and walks away. And now, let's say everybody at the party loves A and B, some people probably love B a little more lol... but are you really gonna beat up and ban B, who is a friend to YOU and a lot of people at your party over a slap? Maybe hold him back if necessary or maybe you might slap him back whatever. But if B felt offended and you heard where the offense came from, are you really that upset at B to the point of banishment? Especially if you know these two have at least some type of work history, and clearly some personal history. Remember you invited both of these guests and if there's beef, I'd kick both out or make sure things have mellowed and they're calm, but that doesn't mean I'd never have them at my house again. I'd totally understand if this was a random mf who came to your house and slapped your best friend for the hell of it, but if I'm seeing two of my friends or colleagues that I invited, get into a slap fight for 2 secs because words were said, I'm not gonna ban them for life lol. That's literally overkill.

      Quest Love directed an incredible documentary called 'Summer Of Soul or when the revolution could not be televised'. Footage of a concert buried since 1964 in favour of Woodstock.....What's my point? Quest Love won an Oscar for that documentary, who presented it? Chris Rock. When? ......... ✋️. One slap buried publicity of an incredible documentary. A 10 year ban is perfect. 'Summer of Soul' was buried for nearly 50 years and nearly suffered the same fate because of a slap. I’m sorry, but there is absolutely no way that this movie is better than the original. By sheer production value. I’m sorry, but I just can’t handle all the CGI created environment. The first film will always rise above the rest, because of the practicality of it in my humble opinion.

      To each their own the Oscar's is terrible anyway and the news covering the slap is just click bait to get more views online for me. Will Smith wasn't going to do it he was laughing at Chris Rocks joke about Will Smith's wife his wife was looking at him in disgussed that meant you better do something and then Will Smith went up the stage & slapped Chris Rock. We all saw it on TV it was Jada Pickett Smith's fault not Will Smith... But if you don't want to watch any more Will Smith's movies again that's fine just stating the truth...

      @@nerdywithautism99 yes. You’re right. Her stranglehold on him is disturbing especially with how she treats him and their relationship.
      Smith slapped a much shorter and weaker man on tv in front of people, the same people who would later 👏 for his acceptance speech.
      I just can’t unsee it. Jim Carey even was disgusted by it in an interview.
      I’m glad it doesn’t stop you from watching movies. It turned me off from watching King Arthur and I love tennis.

But Idk why you guys act like slapping someone is somehow the worst thing in the world or somehow unforgivable. I feel like people like you were waiting for something to negatively impact him just to have a reason to not to be a "fan".
