- 2021 Ford F150 Build! Wheels & Tires Day! 33" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 20" Venomrex Wheels
In this video we show you Sam's new wheel and tire setup on his 2021 Ford F150 Lariat Sport in Space White paint. Sam went with 20" Venomrex 602 wheels in Anthracite (12mm offset) and 33" Nitto Ridge Grappler tires (305/55/R20) *116Q Load Rating XL Tire. This particular tire weighs quiet a bit less than the E rated Nitto Ridge Grapplers in the same size. In our previous video in this build series we installed the Falcon Sport Tow/Haul Shock Leveling System. This gave the truck a 2.5" lift in the from and lowered the rear 1/2" and got the truck to within 3/4" of perfectly level and removed the rake down in the front look. How the heck can I get those 602 in Canada
Sam looks like a kid on Christmas morning, not only did he get a special toy, but a bunch of fun accessories to go with it. Looks and sounds great.
Dang John, you hit the nail on the head! I had to leave it with Line-X of Knoxville after this video. I actually haven't parked in my driveway tonight! Tomorrow morning really is Christmas Day!
Color space white awesome; exhaust real deal; tires wheel and shocks! Sweetness
Thanks nordland up there in Alaska! Make sure you subscribe so you see all the fun we have with this truck. This isn't the only vehicle on this channel. One of these days we hope to head up to your neck of the woods.
They really wake up the trucks looks,,,,,,,, beautiful build, first 2021 I can say I think actually looks very good. Great video awesome Tennessee accents, just great people down that way and as a WVU Mountaineer fan, my respect to VOLS fans, they stick with their team even in the bad years, playing in the SEC ain’t no cake walk ever!
Thanks Poppy! I'm super happy with how it turned out as well. You never know what it's going to look like until you actually do it. Your right about the Vols, it has been pretty ruff down here on Rocky Top. Already looking forward to next season. Go Big 🍊!
@@BackroadDriver my old boss use to sell college books, for a publisher, he went to about ever big college, I asked him what big school had the prettiest gals, he said it wasn’t even a contest University of Tennessee👍
the gravel is where "We gotta stop I think, I cant tell! I cant tell if were moving or not!" went down. Yes, I watch that video a lot.
Those are some mighty small tires on that white truck🫤
I love the hardwork the brothers are putting in to bring us daily content 💪
We appreciate it Elvin! Hard work pays off.
really liking the new wheels, they look incredible
I appreciate it man! Thanks!
Rear Piggy Shocks look amazing!!! Oh yeah, wheels too 😆... Great Content 👍...
These new trucks are amazing! The Falcon shocks are amazing! It rides so smooth!
The 305/55/20 does not rib with stock set up no level needed and there is no need to cut /trim anything I have them on my truck and have zero issues at full turn in forward or reverse
What size rim?
Crazy!!! I just popped on the inter-web to search out 20 inch wheels for my F150... they look good bro 👍🏼✌🏼
Thanks man! Glad you found us! Hope you will sub and follow the build.
New wheels are looking real good Sam
ThAnks Marc!
Sam you are killing me here! Lol
Thanks man! I guess I was a little giddy...
I have a '21 F150 Limited 4x4 Powerboost on order. Build week of 3/29. I'm excited to get it.
I'm excited for you as well! I hope you get it sooner than you thought. Hopefully you didn't order accessories because they are pushing the delivery dates back quite a bit right now. These new trucks are amazing!
I ordered a spray in bed liner, max recline and interior work surface. I now have the VIN. I did see your post on Facebook.
@@BackroadDriver Nice truck. Love the new wheels! Looks sharp!
Oooooh! Max recline! You went with an upper level trim. Congrats! Let us know what you think about your new truck when it gets delivered. We love all our viewers opinions.
@@BackroadDriver I definitely will. I popped for a Limited.
Looks great Sam paint the calipers and you’re set!!!
Big brake package?
Sam I have a 2020 F150 lariat with LFP installed Roush power pac blower-exhaust-intake- caltracs I powder coated calipers I couldn’t see paying $4k for big brakes for only 2 ft better stopping distance the stock ! Although they look nicer!
im building up my f150 and i live in sevierville, its cool to see your in knoxviille
Ok. Those are sweet. We are looking for a set for our 2021. I'll have to look at the maker
That's are really good looking setup. Not over done, just perfect.
They look good for sure. Love'em actually. Was debating new wheels as the Platinum wheels are a little tame. Waiting to see if they grow on me. Digging the tires as well.
The aftermarket has exploded with great options and they aren’t crazy expensive. The right tires can make any truck look better.
Trucks looking tight bro............like the wheelz
Thanks man! More modz on deck!
What’s the stance after this wheels and tires package? How much they stick out of fender? I was not able to see that during the video... that info might help users like me... thanks
Thanks for letting me know. We will put this in the next video with measurements.
you have good taste, that anthracite looks killer on that white. very nice truck
I appreciate it BadLac! More to come, keep watching!
@@BackroadDriver for some reason I looked that color on the Venomrex website and they do not show it or call it like that. Trying to see which one would be yours. They only show Carbon Graphite or Mystik black
Those nittos look great
Absolutely love the new wheel and tire set up.
Those are sweet wheels 🤘
Thanks Greg! They are even better in person! Stay tuned for more content.
Just beautiful looks good wow👌🏻😊
Thanks John! More to come!
I don’t like Fords, but this one is super sharp! Great setup.
Your truck looks awesome.
Thanks Josua! Mode mods coming up! Have you seen The Wolf on our channel?
Yes l did sir. I’ve been a big fan of your channel. Thank you
Thanks man! Glad to see you in the comments! Good to hear from you.
Looks good. I'm trying to find a set of those stock snowflake style wheels for my 2016 f150.
Awesome looking good!
Thanks Anthony!
Just bought this same truck, same color, lariat, sport, etc..ordered the 3 inch rough country with 33s and 20s. Hoping they don’t look too small, but was afraid the 35s would look too big with only going with the 3 inch lift.
Sam your truck is sik! Love the mods. I have some Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/55r22 and XD847 Outbreak in 22x10 +12 offset coming for my 21 F-150. I will probably have to do some trimming? What you think?
The only spot we have noticed so far showed up in the video. Easy trim. No rubbing in the wheel well.
I got my 2021 f150 bedliner there and wondered way all the tracks were from
Wheels look awesome on the space white.. very nice..
Looking good! What is the wheel size, 20x? and what offset. In the next video could you do a side shot to see poke? thanks
The wheel is 20x9 with a 12mm offset. We will show the poke in the next truck video.
What's the color of these wheels? The website had either Mystic Black or Carbon Graphite? Do you have a link to where you found those wheels? They look amazing!!!
Good choice on the wheels looks awesome😍 What gear ratio is in it?
Thanks for watching Daniel! I have the max tow package and a 3.73 gear ratio. I must say that the torque is way better than the 2013 F-150 with the 5.0 that I had. I think it had the 3.31 gears.
Tiny 33’s - CRAZY! You could have done 295/65r20 which are 35’ with a leveling kit and they would’ve looked a whole lot better!
Plus they aren’t even 3 peak (snow) tires!
I bought 33" tires in that size specifically for a reason. The truck is now supercharged and 305/55/20 in an XL rating is 15 to 20 lb lighter per tire than a 35" tire with an E load rating. Yes, 35s are bigger but they are also much heavier. I chose lightweight rims and tires so the truck can still be fast and have an off-road stance.
I like your build so far. Your truck needs a name? How bout Space Ghost?
I'll put it on the list. I love getting ideas from you guys! When it gets its name it will be because of our viewers' suggestions. It's going to be epic!
Nice wheels and tires, Can you ask him if the new tires are quiet or noise , or in between on the freeway?
The Ridge Grapplers are a hybrid tire. We have had 5 sets on Brad’s truck on the channel. They are great on road and excellent off road. They do it all. We will review them on Sam’s truck in one of our next videos.
Very very nice!
Thanks Rico!
The tread on the Nitto’s look sweet!
Its interesting that your leaf springs are totally different than mine. 21 f150 xl stx fx4 has 1 leaf spring and a huge thick overload type spring on it.
Thanks for watching Jacob! You are correct. I have the max tow package. It comes with two leaf springs and is a totally different setup. My axle is also a 9.75 HD whereas yours is most likely a Super 88.
I ordered my new Lariat on Dec 28/20 , got a call from my dealer today and my truck has crossed the border and is a few days from delivery ...
That awesome! You beat the chip slowdown!
@@BackroadDriver horse shoes for sure..👍
Would you guys be able to show the weight of the wheels and tire vs stock wheel and tire.... love the vids keep it up
after a month of driving these - have you had to do anything from the rubbing on the front?
I just bought the venomrex vr604 with 305/55/20 just wondering what did you do about the TPMS?
With those Falcons. Was your ride smooth and not bumpy on the road when and when not towing? Thanks fellas 🫡🇺🇸
Im not really late, somehow I had enough signal to watch the video but not comment. I love it Sam, Im almost thinking the 33s look small though. same deal on mine and Brads, 35s might look huge though.
Mine are only 33” tires on The Wolf. I think they blend in more because the truck is darker.
I think so too, the wheel as well. I have 33s on my truck. I think they look little because the wheel is the color that it is. When I get the Kelsos hopefully they’ll look bigger
@@BackroadDriver Exactly what size tires are on the Wolf? Are they LT or P metric? Thanks in advance, love what you guys are doing!
Love you guys great looking wheels
Thanks Don!
Truck is looking great! How much mpg loss did you experience when loosing the factory rake?
I'm awaiting my Space White SuperCab. Ordered in February. I have been acquiring stuff already and went with the same falcon tow/haul setup. Trying to choose the tires now. 99% sure I'll be getting the Nitto Ridge Grapplers as well. I have the sport package with the 20 inch 6 spoke ford wheels. I want to keep the stock rims so will have stock offset? You think 34s would fit?
Thanks and keep the videos coming! You're basically living my life right now just 4 months sooner.....
Thanks. Awesome looking truck
What are your plans for the OE wheels? Would you consider selling them? They might not be the fanciest, but they'd be a huge upgrade to what I have on my '11 F-150
Thanks for watching Matty! Not going to lie I could use the money to pay for some of the mods I just bought 😂! I've learned my lesson in the past. I'm going to put these wheels and tires up and save them for when the day comes I need to get rid of the truck. We may have a few things we want to sell in the future so stay tuned.
@@BackroadDriver No worries. Enjoy the new truck.
I am at my local Ford dealer. The space white kinda looks grey for a distance and at another angle. It looks like a real light purple.
Lovin it man! I’m a new subscriber. Awesome channel you got. I’m just getting my truck channel up and running. Taking notes from you. Haha. Two thumbs up!
Thanks! More to come....
Great looking truck. Congrats. Could you send the info about your dealer to try to get the wheel liners from them ? Thanks
Sam, can you get the Space White Lariat WITHOUT the God awful brown leather trim inside?
Jeffrey, You can get the Lariat in space white without the god-awful interior Lol 😂! You can get it in all black interior without the red color but you'd have to pick the god-awful chrome package with chrome bumpers, mirrors, door handles, etc. Pick your poison. Thanks for watching!
Sam, can you show the modifications you made to avoid any scrubbing? Did they only scrub on that air dam with this setup or was there body rubbing also? Looking at this exact setup for mine and want to know ahead of time what I need to modify.
Hey Kevin, this setup won't rub at all. They barely touched the air dams in the front. I've not had any issues even in reverse, cut all the way.
What offset are your wheels?
Did you have the lift before the wheels/tires? Curious if trimming the plastic with no lift or less lift would still fit (no hard part contacts)?
I put in the leveling kit first. The 21 F150 has a little more room the the previous model. They would probably fit but I couldn't promise they wouldn't rub a little under more extreme driving conditions. I saw where someone put a similar setup on their truck without a level and they said it just kissed the plastic in a few areas. That tells me that it would rub on a bumpy road.
Did the lane keeping assist need a recalibration after the level?
I used the lane keep and adaptive cruise last night and it still works with no issues.
Oh don’t tell me he went to the top of the hill to burn some rubber like you did Brad (fire department etc). Truck is kicking ass!
Looks awesome. Hows the ride with the 2.5 lift on the highway? Is it still smooth or stiffer ride with the lift?
Still smooth for sure. It is stiffer than factory but not floaty like the stock setup can feel at times. I've hit a few big potholes on purpose and it soaks them up like a champ.
@Backroad Driver Exactly what size tires are on the Wolf? Are they LT or P metric? Thanks in advance, love what you guys are doing!
Hey Craig! The Wolf is currently running LT305/55R20 F 125/122Q. We just put a set of 305/55R20 116Q on my new truck the 2021. Since I have the max tow package and my stock tires have a 116Q rating it just made sense to save the 12.5 lbs. We will probably run the p metric size on the Wolf in the future. We are looking at a few other options on the Wolf depending on if we are going to the track or just doing burnouts. Ridge Grapplers get expensive to make smoke with....
Are the wheels the carbon or tungsten graphite?
Carbon Graphite! venomrex.com/collections/20-flow-forged-wheel/products/vr-602-carbon-graphite?variant=34031029813386
I'm pretty sure it's the same color but they call it different things. I'm in love!
I want to know if you have a fix to this active air dam fix? Point me to the right direction thanks. Good looking rig..
Great videos.
I have a 0+ offset with 275/60/20s on a 20x9 rim. Its in a 2016 F150 with a 2 inch level.
Will that same build be ok on the new 21s? Mines on order and will be putting a level in it. Just worried with the offset being 0
With that set up you should be golden! The 21s will accept a little bit bigger tire and wheel package than the previous generation. Thanks for watching Fred! Make sure and subscribe if you haven't already.
@@BackroadDriver thanks boys, keep up the videos, subscribed
No rub?
@@craigcerreta8367 None, even while backing up up hill full lock.
I'm going to go with 285 here soon. Not sure on going from 60 to 65 , but I may try it out if the new ones have more room.
love them I have the same truck except 3.5 wamt this wheels and tires
Clean looking truck!
Check out what it looks like now! Thanks for watching! ruclips.net/video/nTuQTGCPU2U/видео.html
Good job guys! Can you send a link for your sunglasses? Thanks
If I want my tires to poke out a bit. Should I get offset tires or wheel spacers ? Just bought me a truck and learning bout truck mods. Much appreciated of any reply 🙏
Spacers on stock wheels or aftermarket wheels with an offset.
So my truck are stock now and don’t have a lift kit yet, so if i get this tires size so u think it fit my stock wheels ???
Fellow TN boy here. Sam, what does the fender measure at now with the wheels and tires, I saw the measurements in the level kit video.
Killer wheels Sam 🌍🖤🤍
How do you think 295/60/R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers look on those Venomrex 602's?
Nice, how large of a spare will that truck fit?
How's your 10speed transmission holding up?
Heck yes.
I love those wheels. If I had a 6 lug pattern I'd use them
Thanks Marc!
When I was set on the 1990 F150 I was telling you about that fell through, I would have done new wheels. I found "spacers" I guess you could call them. Anyway, it converted the OBS 5 lug bolt pattern to the 04+ 6 lug. maybe try that? I dont know much about that kind of thing but could be worth a shot.
I take it back, the wheels are 1” too big to fit with that offset on your truck. Jeeps and RAM pickups have the same bolt pattern if they make them in a decent size.
Do you happen to have the part numbers for the floor mats? Ford only can provide me with the floor mats with black lettering and i wanted white to match my truck...Thanks!
The part number for the mats in my truck is ML3Z-1613300-BA. Remember I have the foldable storage under my rear seat. You will need another part number if you don't have that option. If you call your local Ford dealership and ask for the parts department they can take your VIN number and get the part number for you. Thanks for watching Alexander!
@@BackroadDriver thanks! Yes sir, I have the foldable storage too, but the only ones that “show available” are the black logo ones
Those are sweet rims, my cost in Canada is looking to be about 700plus! Yikes
Buddy what is the offset on those rims?? Looks perfect by the way.
Thanks Joe! They are a +12 offset. They stick out a bit further on 21's than they do on 2020 and below. Ford widened the suspension by about a half inch for 21.
Nice wheels
Thanks man! VenomRex wheels are flow formed which makes them quite a bit lighter and stronger than cast wheels. Dollar per dollar they are hard to beat.
Ima see if I get them for my Silverado
Love those wheels but could not find that color on there website
Question...do you have a leveling kit on the truck before putting beer tires and wheels?
Yes, it is leveled. You'll need to put on some type of leveling kit to add larger wheels and tires.
What zise leveling kit did you use ? And can you send me the link thank you !
Here is a link to the video where I put on the Falcon shocks. ruclips.net/video/eQqT6GCHPlY/видео.html
Here is a link to the kit. www.falconshocks.com/2015-ford-f-150
Did you have to recalibrate the speedometer with the new tires?
Not yet. When I figure out how I'm going to do it I'll make a video for sure. No tuners are available at this time so it will be the dealership doing it I think.
@@BackroadDriver does forscan work on the 21's yet?
Those look great!
What’s the offset on those wheel?
12mm. I just added it to the description. It’s Sam’s fault that he didn’t tell you in the video.
I’m looking at getting the same truck and color but with the 3.5l ecoboost. I struggled between silver and space white as well. Can you tell me what the benefit is going aftermarket with the rims? Those look similar to the 20” upgrade from Ford. Was it cost or did you not like the Ford upgraded rims?
These rims are much lighter than the factory rims and have a more aggressive offset. They will allow larger tires to be put on the vehicle. If you're happy with the factory stance of the vehicle then just get the factory rims but if you would like for the rims and tires too poke out a tad and be able to put on larger sizes you need to look at aftermarket wheels. Remember that unsprung weight which both wheels and tires are, adds to a slower truck with less miles per gallon. If you can swing it, aftermarket wheels and tires are always a better option than paying $1,500 or so for a factory upgrade. Make sure you match the weight rating of your new tires to the factory or better. You can see a little bit more info on that in the video where I put new wheels and tires on the truck. I hope that helps you make a better decision.
Sam. what did you do about the TPMS for the new wheels?
I bought new TPMS sensors that had them installed.
@@BackroadDriver Thanks man. I'm really learning alot from your build for the new '21.
does your truck fit in your garage?
Hi Sam, when i go on Venomrex site and pick 602 20”s for 2021 F150, they say it is “coming out soon”. Do you have these wheels in 2020 version, i wonder, with perhaps a slightly different offset than the 2021s they are working on?
Pick the 2020 f-150. That's the version I have. They only have one offset and width in the 20'. You'll be getting the exact same thing in my truck.
Are those stock brake pad's? Ty
Hey Sam. With that offset & the tires sticking out a little, do the tires throw rocks & dirt up the sides of your truck? How hard is it to keep clean after installation?
Not bad at all for daily driving. It barely slings up anything and it's not that bad.
Have the same truck, wheel size, and exact tires. What cold tire pressure you running? Looks Great!
They are horrible…
@@BackroadDriver??
Where did you buy the wheels and tires from
Sam, how did that size tire (305x55r20) work out? I went with 295x60r20 but like the look of the 305s better.
Funny that’s what tire racks recommends 305/55, but this video just proved what I thought it would be lol they just too thin and too wide and they rub… does your 295 rub? Cant decide between 285 or 275
I like them .....tho I would have went with a more aggressive offset.
Yeah, that seems to be the thing right now. These poke out a little, maybe not enough.
