Exactly! The content is very important and I don’t understand why there has to be music .

When editing the video, It sounds better to the person who already knows the content than the person who doesn't. That's why that ends up happening.

I am a Neonatal Dietitian. Please be careful when choosing a nutrition professional. The designation of “Dietician” is different in different places/countries. If you are in the US, please be sure you see a Dietitian (with a t not a c.

Any recommendations to increase satiety? I'm interested in supplements. I thought about glucomannan or soaking chia seeds not sure which method may work better.

Great question, Marcel. To increase satiety at meals, I would recommend getting adequate fiber and protein intake at meals. There are no supplements or hacks we can recommend if you aren't already doing those things! And careful with chia seeds in water, you can easily get TOO much fiber and cause digestive discomfort that way. You're better off just getting enough fiber through a whole foods based diet. Hope this helps! ☺ - Devon

I wouldn't go the either one of you. Interesting how you never mention specific health issues you have experience with and how you managed the process. You both sound more like simple trainers.

This sounds like a great idea for another video. The goal of this one was more of a big picture view. As a practice with as many specialists as we have, we work with everyone. Digestion, Metabolism, Chronic Disease, Sports Performance, Eating Disorders- we have specialists at CSN with that area of focus and experience. Perhaps we should do a subset of this video on what to expect when meeting with each subspecialty- thanks for the idea!

I am thinking of possibly working with dietician again, depending on what my cholesterol blood tests show. I have struggled with majorly high cholesterol, and am on cholesterol meds. However, I also struggle with laziness so I often skip breakfast in the morning (will have my coffee), usually skip lunch except for having some chocolate and more coffee, maybe a small protein snack before figure skating at the rink, then whatever I can get my hands on when I get home...or ordering pizza or something. It kinda sucks. Perfectionism also gets in the way, and I also have had perfectionistic tendencies with food in the past. Yet, I am also scared of my cholesterol numbers going very high (I was once at a 350) again, but I know that my body needs the energy to be able to skate, run (may be marathon training this summer), do gymnastics, play in band, and just live my life in general.
However, I will say that my first experience with a dietician was not a positive one. I basically saw a dietician who looked deathly thin herself, got a bunch papers basically telling me "Eat this, not that," and being told "You can eat that, but....." ALL of which was very triggering my perfectionism, and basically had me leaving the office in tears. I didn't go back. However, maybe giving it a second shot might be worth it.
I also will say that I am in therapy for PTSD, but it also involves working on my perfectionism, so this would be in conjunction with that in a way....in the way of getting myself healthier physically and mentally.

Thanks so much for sharing, Janet! It's important to find a dietitian that is a good fit. I hope this video helped you! If you're interested in working with one of our dietitians, please reach out to us at scheduling@casespecificnutrition.com . Happy holidays!

@@Casespecificnutritionrdn Thanks. If I do decide to work with a dietician, it will most likely be through my GP, as I want someone that is through my same medical provider, if at all possible.

I've tabled seeing a Dietician because I see all these tick toks of Dieticians giving bad advice. I see one tomorrow. What is she going to say, eat more oxalates and indigestible fiber?

Make sure you’re also not seeing nutritionists which is basically an unlicensed profession that anyone could be (at least in the US).

This is why I'm becoming a registered dietitian because there are a lot of people who lie about their credentials and anyone can say they are a nutritionist I hate all of them.

I fear these dieticians will push weight gain. I had horrendous knee pain and people want to see dietician.
