@@andresfresa123 I don't think modern furniture goes in a Victorian house, Victorian houses are ornate and opulent.

I agree that modern furniture is hideous in a historic home. I hated the dining room table and chairs. I liked the kitchen but I would’ve left the butlers pantry instead of making such a huge kitchen. I hate when owners change the original floor plans. The best change they made was the kids bathroom. It looked fresh but still in style of the period of the home. This house is a treasure and still very beautiful. Loved the outside. It was a big improvement in my opinion. And as always Jack’s work is awesome !

@@sherryporter8647 I agree, the dining room table is hideous, with plastic chairs. Maybe a different house would've suited their furniture taste, but not an 1800's Victorian , their ,1970's furniture style belongs in something else.

Amazing woodwork!! Thank goodness it has been preserved. I have to agree that as a lover of older historic homes I find the modern furniture and features to be jarring. Victorian meets Ikea. Of course it is the home owners prerogative to make it their own, but homes like this are important pieces of history. Fortunately, I think these owners have maintained and respected most of the important historic qualities while making it practical for their family. Wonderful to hear it will be full of life - family, fun, children, neighbors, guests - it is a treasure to be shared!
Jack - the landscaping is amazing! As always, every detail is thoughtful, beautiful and perfect!!

The homeowners don’t have a great eye for decor and matching styles. They seem to prefer clean, modern designs which is fine for a different style home so I don’t understand why they would choose to purchase a Victorian home. The bright white walls make the wood look too yellow. As a kitchen designer, I would have been soooo disappointed to put this design in such a beautiful home. The arch window is great though.

I have been looking forward to seeing inside this beauty for such a long time. Love the original woodwork! I'm so glad it was kept. I love seeing the begire and after pictures, and I fully admit I prefer the before pictures of many of the rooms, but that's just a personal preference on my part. Losing the butlers pantry in the kitchen, for me, was such a tremendous loss. All in all, I'm so glad the outside has the charm of the original, but disappointed the inside was not historically adhered too.

Jack, thank goodness for your insight for the beautiful landscape design. It’s perfect for the beauty that is the outside of this gorgeous period home. Having said that and understanding the homeowners wishes for their personal style, the inside was such a disappointment for me. It’s just so modern and contemporary for what this house is. Although the inside lacks the warmth from what it was, I’m so glad to see they saved all the beautiful woodwork. I like some of the others prefer the before pictures, especially the kitchen. The outside, especially because of your landscape design is pure magic. Wonderful finish on that Jack!

I love the renovation of the home. The inside needed to be modernized to reflect the way people live today. It is clean, airy and bright! The before pictures were very heavy, dark and depressing. People do not want that feeling in their homes today. The landscaping really showcased the beauty of the outside of the home. I am glad it will be kept low so the details of the home will still be able to be seen. I did not like any of the before pictures as the landscaping was very over grown. I really like the combination of keeping the old details as much as possible but refreshing the inside with clean modern furniture. Thank you for the video as it made my day! Love your work!

The outside and landscaping are just beautiful. Victorian is my style and i love this house. As far as i"m concerned the other homeowners did a much nicer job decorating the house then the present owners. When i saw the formica looking table and chairs in the dinning room with the outer space like light fixture above the formica table I about died. This does not go with the integrity of the victorian style. You have a outer space looking light in the dinning room and a victorian gas light in the entry. They don't match.
The light over your gaming table upstairs would be a much better choice for the dinning room.
I know this is your house and you can do what you want but my question is why did you buy it? I'm surprised you didn't paint all the wood. At least you didn't do that and I commend you for that. You did do a good job restoring the house but I'm a little disappointed with the furniture you chose.

For everyone commenting that it's too modern inside: not everyone wants to live in a museum. This is not a little, old lady home; it's for a young family, and they did a great job. They left most of the intricate original details and updated it for the 21st century. I live in a Queen Anne, but decorate with contemporary furniture and artwork. It works very well and suits who I am. Now, did anyone else notice that beauty across the street at the end? Would love to get a tour of that!

In some of the pictures, I like the old version better. I guess it was necessary to update but it has lost some of the character. I wish they could have saved that butler's pantry. Ultimately, the new homeowner has a lovely place, and that is what matters.

I’ve been waiting for this video which felt as though it has been forever! To begin with the landscaping is utterly stunning Jack. I would NEVER expect anything less from you and your crew. The homeowners must be so glad the process is (nearly) complete! It took a lot of patience, perseverance, and dollars to save this lovely old Queen Anne. The construction by the crew is phenomenal and gorgeous. As has always been the case, any creative touches by your brother are singularly one of a kind always done with class. I thank EVERYONE, especially the HOMEOWNERS, for allowing this tour after what has been a very long period for them after which they must be happy just to get on with their lives. Thanks Jack for a complete journey for those of us who love your channel 😊!

It's beautiful outside, landscaping is lovely. The interior is a train wreck. Was the woodwork lightened? The butlers pantry was dark wood, two different colors of wood is unusual. That bar in the parlor!😣😣 The hideous kitchen.WHY? if people want modern why buy an old home? " Touch as little as possible?" Seriously? Glad they kept what they did, but it's hard to watch.

The whole house looks fabulous! I am so thankful that so much of the woodwork was there. There are maybe 3 or 4 ppl left in the world who can create this level of beauty, today! Just spectacular! Kudos to the homeowners for jumping into this home!
I love every room! My least fav room is the kitchen. It is amazing but it just doesn't match the rest of the house. I do understand wanting what they have and how it is kind of necessary to do some things different and as amazing as it is, I wished to see a way different look. I also don't get the dining table? It looks like it belongs in an office, not a dining room like this one.
That said, to each their own and if the homeowners love it, that's what counts!
Every blade of grass to the largest tree is pure perfection! I love the whole exterior of the home. No doubt, it's a beautiful change and I know the neighbors have to be sooo happy!
Wishing the homeowners all the best in their home. Thanks for letting us in. I really enjoyed the tour.

Wow, such an inspiring project. It’s always been a dream of ours to own and renovate a Victorian but the cost is so prohibitive. Kudos to those who renovate and improve these historic homes for future generations to appreciate!

I prefer the interior BEFORE the modernization. That's the problem. If you want Moden , build a totally new house.

Thank you so very much for sharing that was one of the most interesting homes I've ever seen three stories unbelievable! The Landscaping is gorgeous looks so perfect with the house! Hard to believe that he'll get any prettier but when it's matured it will be so gorgeous God bless you and everybody that made the homeowners dream come true

What a beautiful house! Love the work you’ve done with the landscaping too, Jack! It really frames the whole place beautifully! As for the interior, I think it’s great! It may not all be to my personal taste, but it’s not my home, and I love what they’ve done with it and how they’ve made it their own, incorporating modern with classical to suit their preferences. The work in the Master bedroom and Master bathroom are also beautiful!
    Thanks for showing us around!

Wow, hard to believe you traded plain for that gorgeous french country looking kitchen.... I would have added more on ...nothing says warm like french country...

Overall, gorgeous, but Lord that dining set is hideous and doesn't go with the style of the house and it totally clashes with the server. Mid century modern does not go with victorian no matter how hard you try. It just looks out of place.

With the exception of the mud room, my tastes or more toward the before, including the new light fixture in the dining room❤ but this is a gem and I’m so thrilled have seen it!!
Edit: oh! It would have been cool to have seen the concrete you were talking about in the back that he didn’t think was too bad 😂😂🥴🤪
