I hadn’t seen him in 10 weeks because he was teaching in China but he just got back last night and I am so psyched, especially because we’ll be celebrating Father’s Day and I got him the coolest graphic novel version of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson’s grandson Miles Hyman. So far I think my favorite book of the summer is River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross! I have never read a book that feels so whimsical and tender, yet a little bit dark and eerie at the same time. It is so good!
This one is on my TBR. I am looking forward to reading it.

The Body comes from a series of novellas in a book called Different Seasons. Stand By Me is only one of the movies created from that series. The novella Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption was of course turned into The Shawshank Redemption and the story Apt Pupil was turned into a movie of the same name.

I have been into the Cozy Mysteries since stumbling onto them during the pandemic....there are SO MANY!!! Just to show how out of hand things really are my local library has so many that keeps me going there and checking out books when I have so many sitting in TBR piles at my house! Having an used bookstore doesn't make things easier because you know I got to buy books to go with the books that are already sitting in the TBR piles. I am turning into a book hoarder! There are just so many books to read and not enough time. 🤓😂😂

My favorite book I've read so far this summer has to be A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. She has defiantly become one of my new favorite authors that I am trying to read everything from, but I do get distracted and am continuously adding books to my TBR every time I watch one of your video's. My goal by the end of the year is to have my physical TBR shrunk down so I can buy more books for the next year 🦕

I just finished a book called An Elderly Lady is up to no Good and it was so good. We meet this woman Maude who is 86 and so far she ahs gotten away with four murders I'm now reading the second one. It's called An Elderly Lady Must Not Be Crossed and it is just as good because we learn more about Maude.

My favorite book of the summer is actually not a new release. It’s “The One” by John Marrs. My most anticipated release for this year is called “The Last One” by Will Dean. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I heard the premise: A woman wakes up on a cruise ship and her husband is missing. When she goes looking for him, she discovers that she is the only one on the ship (no other passengers or crew members) with no way to contact anyone for help as the ship sails further into the middle of the ocean. It comes out on August 8th and I’ve already pre-ordered my copy but I requested an ARC on NetGalley (I’ve never done that before) and they sent me the digital version so I get to read it now and I’m so pumped! You got some really great books in this vlog! Happy Reading! 💚
