Important: put the vehicle in brake maintenance mode BEFORE you remove the caliper. If you start fiddling with the parking brake when the caliper is removed and it extends without a pad to back it up, it can pop the piston right out of the caliper and it’s even more of a pain to retract back in, brake fluid will leak out, risk of tearing the seal (which would need replacing), and can turn a simple job into a real nightmare.
its easier when in off-road mode when you need to get the wheels off, as for "jacking mode" does exist but some cars go into it, and some dont. Last time i was jacking mine up i got a good 3 feet in the wheel well, and the wheels were still on the ground
As they said above it I'd recommended to be in offroad mode but I have never done it. I just jack it up at its current height and don't go any higher than necessary
Everything was done correct but next time put the car in service mode first. 2018- Newer model you have to or the brake light will stay on till you go to the dealership to reset it 2014-2017 model they won’t have alot of issues if you don’t put them on service mode but the newer model will
@ThetimeisThecreated ill see if I can edit the video. I did the e brake release with the caliper still on the rotor so it had something to press against incase.
Hi, I am wondering if perhaps your sensor is faulty or is not plugged in properly or is damaged. I never had to do a reset, I installed the new sensor, plugged it in, and when i turned the truck on the light went away.
It is a 2016. Only the SVR and 2017 HST received those brakes on the early L494. 2018+ received them as standard. The 2014-17 HSE/SE all trims received a standard brake caliper.
@jamescummings9305 I usually spray the rotors with brake clean before I put the wheels on. Even if you do not I have yet to have a set have issues. But I agree.
Lefty loosey. But please watch more of the video I found out when I got the e brake disconnect per the trucks dash board procedure on screen it auto pushed in.
@@cpstang24 i appreciate your reply, yes I'd watched it all the way through first, I have a clockwise piston tool, still anti clockwise on the opposite side im currently trying to do, thanks again
I’ve always like this body style Range Rover they are nice looking vehicles always wanted one I enjoy your video! 😃
Thankyou, me too, i feel they are timeless and usually do not look dated. Easy to work on. Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes correct, always do this before removing the caliper.
I figured that out after done once 😂
Can you make a video on the front brakes?
Brake grease on the pad backs and guides please.
@@briantheguy1 it's good practice but I never do it.
What part of the video do you explain how to put it the brakes in service mode???
8 Minutes in i explain and show it.
Does caliper piston turn in or push straight back thanks 😃
@@cleggy2009 it pushes straight back. I compressed it with a C clamp
@ thanks 👍
My friend, do you know how to take the parking brake fault warning off?
@raksmeypich184 i do not. You may need a scanner or visit the dealer to have it turned off. I never had that issue so I can't say.
One question
Does the suspension have to be on a certain mode to jack it up?
It is recommended

Do you have to start the car when you’re cycling the e brakes
@@ThetimeisThecreated no you do not. Just key on off. Do not start
@@cpstang24 can you put the steps in for the cycling e brake I was doing it then it popped out the piston

My friend, can you help me delete the message about worn brake pads. thank you

So helpful thank you much
Is that a 2020 Range Rover sport SE I thought the rear brakes has four calipers pistons and the front brake has six caliper pistons

You should clean the protective film off both sides of the rotors with brake clean before putting them on.

I just broke all the bolts 😢. Guide pin and that caliper bracket😢
Which way does it wind in please, not sure if mine seized

@daveshore6213 ok got it. If not take needle nose pliers with some pressure applied push down and twist
Thanks for sharing
No problem. Hope it helps!
