    I would bet that the Australian writer - Stuart Beattie - spent time in dive bars in SE Asia.
    Vincent is written like he lives in Chiang Mai, and knows golden triangle businessmen.

    The verisimilitude of this entire film is uncanny.

    • @colin-nekritz
      @colin-nekritz 21 день назад

      It was for a reason, it helped him blend in with anyone. On the director commentary they talk about how cruise went out into public to test this, like, crowded public, and it took literally minutes of people passing right by, in front, and even glancing at him before recognizing. It wasn’t “stupid” then at all, this is literally part of how Vincent, a hitman, would operate. Blending in.

      Just suspend your disbelief and enjoy it for what it is. It wouldn’t have worked any other way because these types of films function on amplifying tension for as long as possible. This means operating outside the realm of reality. It’s just a film enjoy it.

      Vincent's plan was to kill Max in the end to make it look like Max was the killer. It is in the dialogue by Mark Ruffalo character thinking back to killings like these before.
      The cab roof is probably a continuity oversight. Good catch on that one.

    Nice touch...that Vincent mentioned how he ends up dying. BUT...it should NOT have been at the hands of Max. NO way Vincent a pfo assassin would walk into the kill shot. What they should have done was have another pro assassin shoot Vincent in the back of the head. Sit Vincent in a seat and leave. Film 10 second of Vincent's body in the train...people just walking past him....the bullet wound covered by a scarf...so he looks like he's just sleeping.
    No way an assassin would reveal his face. Should have been wering disguises. Where's Vincent's sniper rifle? Weapon of choice for an assassin in most assassin films. :)

      Vincent got shot because of his training. He shot tight groups with that Mozambique Drill, hitting the door of the carriage. Max just shot around it and got lucky.
      Vincent's modus operandi is to kill and then make it look like the cab driver is the killer at the end. It is in the dialogue by Mark Ruffalo's character.
