I would not say Montreal isn't satisfied with Dach. He had 38pts in 58 games in his 1st season with the team, which was very good for a 21 year old. Promising anyway. He's played 9 games since! Unless they feel this guy will always be hurt, no reason to panic. They would be selling very low right now, which is not KH's style. No reason to rush into this. If you can get Zegras for him somehow, sure, but they're already undersized and soft. Zegras won't help in those aspects. In fact he will assuredly make it worse...
Great report Mike! Re: Xhekaj: What the heck are Habs GM & coaches thinking???? "wifi" is a risk.....what about the other young "D"???? That is ridiculous thinking by Habs. Get Xhekaj into the lineup!!!!! Re: Habs enforcer: I was really hoping Nic Deslauriers would make his way back to the Habs. I love that guy.....heart of a lion and I'll tell you this....Trouba would think twice about heavy hitting Habs players if Nic was in the lineup. Nic would drop him like a bad habit!!!!!! Re: Habs/Flames deal: Habs don't need another pick. They really need a top 6, bonefide, "F" to help them. They don't need a pick or Zegras....he's not the answer. They need a guy like JT Miller, Chris Kreider, Brad Marchand, etc etc etc.....obviously those guys are top tier players BUT Habs need someone like that because they are lacking a strong, big, "F" who can put the puck in the net. Josh Anderson hasn't lived up to expectations. Habs desperately need top end veteran forward help.
Yea right now we need help, i have conservative thoughts about the goalies of the Habs, I wish we get some magic going because its the same thing as last year
@@michaelwou1667 I laugh anytime I hear a team doesnt have anything we want lol. Yeah right, last I looked at the standings you would think a Flames fan would have been saying that about the Canadiens. Which would have been ridiculous as well. Flames have lots of pieces the Canadiens would be giddy about getting. Whatever. Habs are so good you guys should just start planning the parade.
Certainly is good for you that Ottawa never plays a bad game. Always goes far in the playoffs. With their record it's funny why they are not Canada's team
I don’t see Dach moving, his size is needed, seems like confidence or rust, will be fine in time I would trade Newhook, with Demidiov, Hage, Beck coming up next couple of years need to make room.
Intent to injure on Touba hit, certainly not the first time he takes advantage of a player. Hit to the head, easy to see he was concussed in a game that was essentially over.
Yeah I can’t see the flames parting with a first for Dach at this time, Dach hasn’t proved for a prolonged period of time he can hold down a 2C. And he also hasn’t proven these injuries won’t set him back long term. So until there’s progress, I can’t see Calgary willing to give up too much
"The Calgary Flames are in the market for a right shot 2C in his early 20's." Yeah, them and about 20 other teams. Obvious question: Why would any team give up such a player when they're so hard to find and so sought after? That's like saying "Gee, I'd really love to find a big bag of money today." Danny Briere's been looking for the same thing since he was hired, btw.
I don’t see Dach moving, his size is needed, seems like confidence or rust, will be fine in time I would trade Newhook, with Demidiov, Hage, Beck coming up next couple of years need to make room. Trade DVO for a Holloway/Joshua type PWF young, fast, skilled, gritty
Why is it people, like Mike, says "yes it is true Dach missed an entire season" and then go on essentially to throw him under the bus. If you have ever had your ACL destroyed, getting back to normal, as a athlete in the best hockey league in the world, takes time. Moving him to the wing, might be just what he needs to ease him back. To think the habs should give up on him is silly. I highly doubt they have given up on Dach.
Yup... Just too damn young back there. Only two vets. One has really slowed down this year, and the other, while terrific offensively, has never been great defensively. Ghule is the only one I can point to that is doing well almost every night... that he plays.
At best, Kirby Dach was A Decent Player in Chicago. I'm not sure why Montreal has got him. I don't think that Calgary is going to want him, given the tear they're on so far.
It's going to take Craig Berube time to learn how to Coach The Toronto Maple Leafs & it's going to take Matthews time to learn how to be Captain. Let me know what you think
Marcus Petterson for Mike Matheson. Marcus Petterson for Arber Xhecaj. Marcus Petterson and Kris Letang for Logan Mailloux and Mike Matheson (or Arber Xhecaj). Please Dubas don't sign Marcus Petterson. Trade him to the Habs or trade him at the deadline to a contender.
Chicago has some players they could let go along with a top five pick in the upcoming draft.. There are options that could work for Chicago and Anaheim...I don't think the Rangers have enough assets that they are willing to give up or worth while draft picks to entice a trade. The Ducks would need to be willing to trade Zegras as well. He doesn't have a ton of points yet this season but his two way play has improved a lot. That was the tough part. The points will come.
@@AnaheimRob Thank You for your comment. That's what I meant, if it could be done. I don't really think he is even on the Trade Block, but, it's all speculation. Chicago can fit him in The Salary Cap, but Chicago isn't rushing The Rebuild. The Rangers don't really have Cap Space, but Jacob Trouba will likely be gone next year, so they'll get Cap Space. But, I agree that they're not likely going to trade him. I think that he's become The Rangers' Kappo Kakko. Let me know what you think
@@mariovaccarella6854 Yeah, last year was tough for Zegras and really brought him down a notch. Not sure his situation to improve is as dire as Kakko since Zegras already has two 60 plus point seasons., but he does need a solid bounce back year If he gets to those totals this year or hits seventy points his trade value will go way up, especially since his defensive play has gotten a bit better. Kakko is doing well so far this season, which is exactly what he needs. I always liked him and have a feeling this is the year he proves his doubters wrong. Sometimes it just takes a young player a three or four years to find their game in the NHL.
Reverse the rolls. Montreal canadien suspended. The hit was clean but the Hab player should know not to commit to the hit when the player is in a vulnerable position. These are the hits the league want to eliminate and Montreal needs to take responsibility for their actions
Thats the problem. Xhekaj got to the NHL by playing big minutes. He needs to play 18 plus minutes to develop properly. With his style of play he needs to be in the mix all the time and really feel the game. MSL sucks. Matheson needs to go.
