The steel in the Chinese made Lightning is not the best steel. I would never stick even the best made steel tip first and bend it back and forth. A knife is made for stabbing and cutting, when you use is as a chisel, screwdriver, garden tool, etc , you are abusing the knife and no manufacturer will warranty that kind of abuse. The good thing about any tool is it can be disassembled, cleaned, oiled and sharpened and it will be like new. My Lighting Elite quite staying open so I disassembled it polished the metal and used Silicone spray and reassembled it and it works %100 better than brand new. Apparently they are shipped oil free and they just quit working flawlessly. You can always regrind the tip and it will be better than a new one.
IK 😬These tests are to see how far a knife will go (to my surprise a lot pass!). Now, are the test dramatic and somewhat unrealistic? Sure. But it'd be a pretty boring video if I stayed within normal parameters. So it's for entertainment and informative purposes!
if you treat it as a KNIFE, THEY LAST FOREVER. Man up......its not so bad, no one cuts aluminum foil, other than the top of a Pringles container. I made my 4, so smooth they're like a $300 OTF (VIDEO MADE). Re-sale of a $400 OTF is a joke. I'll never buy a high dollar knife ever again. Especially a OTF.
Great point, 100& agree that your gear most likely outlast you (if taken care of properly)! This video is purely for entertainment and informative purposes!
Thanks for this in depth test. Most of that I would never do to any knife but a quick disassembly and cleaning and she'd be back in duty.
