I usually don’t get too emotional but this hurts. I have had the pleasure to visit Lahaina multiple times, including just last month. So sad to see the places I cherish vanquished from eternity. Hopefully the banyan tree can rise from the ashes and symbolize a new Lahaina. Stay strong Maui. Mahalo for all you have given me.
This is truly devastating. Those who have been blessed to have visited Lahaina in the past were very fortunate indeed. The kindness of its citizens and the feeling of it being a paradise will stay with us forever. Thank you Lahaina. Love from 🇦🇺
My heart hurts. I had the pleasure of staying in Lahaina last August for 2 weeks. I’m so sorry for all of Maui. To see the beautiful banyan trees burned breaks my heart. To the beautiful people of Maui, my heart is with you!
This is the first video I’ve seen that shows the full devastation of the fire. I’m beyond devastated for those who have lost everything, and the victims of this tragedy. All I can say is my heart bleeds for all of you . Bless you all. This is beyond my comprehension at this time and I cannot begin to imagine. ❤️😢
I live on Oahu. Off and on for 35 years I sailed to Lahaina at the end of August for a annual race back to Waikiki. Was getting ready for my upcoming trip. Lahaina was like my second home and I loved it so much. Now friends have lost everything and some friends have been lost. I am sick beyond anything. Can't look at the images without crying.
I visited from Australia last November (my third trip there) with my daughter. Just devastated to see the destruction of this beautiful little town, which we had loved visiting: the little speciality shops and the historic buildings and the cafes. So sorry for those you have lost loved ones, homes, property, businesses and livelihoods. Such a tragedy for Maui and the Hawaiian people.
You know about wildfires then. Is this footage typical of a burnt town in Australia, as it looks so strange to me? Trees here and there and buildings next to devastation?
It never fails to amaze me how with wildfires there can be 99% devastation and then a random house or building remains (relatively) unscathed. It’s mind blowing to me that can happen and just shows how unpredictable and chaotic these fires are. Sending love and support to Lahaina.
For some it is just chance, but mostly it's down to materials of construction. They might look entirely fine from a distance but you can't really assess the inside. Seems to me the buildings which remain intact among the debris are brick/concrete, most of the domestic homes there were decades old and made of wood. Of course wood burns and concrete/brick doesn't.
Common sense would make you question why there are trees literally everywhere still standing yet cars and buildings torched to the ground. This was not a wildfire. Wake up
Two bad fires for me in this life, wouldn't wish it upon anyone. My third crack at life. Yesterday I found a pair of tweezers. Woohoo 🥳 Simple things that bring great joy.

Same thing happened to us in Paradise CA November 8th 2018 Our homes were leveled to ash but most of the trees were still standing houses, steel buildings turned to ash, cars, trucks flipped upside down but still the gas tanks were still intact, We were hit so back in Paradise 11.8.2018 by Directed Energy Weapons looks the same as Paradise did, Maui, looks to be the same MO, as Paradise, Fire was. Cars burned out even the glass windows some of the cars in Maui had large holes in the hood of the cars and trucks looks like a Direct Energy Attack to me but trees next to the cars still had leaves on them. This in my humble opinion is another attack on our towns, Agenda 21 burn the people off the land and take everything away from them. The Winds came up soon as the fire started right? Just like in Paradise and many mountain communities in Northern California, Prove me I'm wrong. Learn what's happening people our towns are under attack none other than by the New World Order People taking everything away from us, burning our towns down. NO EARLY WARNING SYSTEM in place tells me they wanted lot's of Causality’s Death's just like in Paradise we had no warning at all these people they aren't playing they are Dead serious about destroying everything the people have worked so hard for. I sure wish the people would get a clue. Oh thanks mainstream media for NOT Doing any investigating on the fire your worthless media covering up the CRIME Against the People of Maui. May God Help us all, against these EVIL People behind the crimes against humanity. Cars and trucks lined up along the side of the road with glass and wheels melted no trees next to the cars and trucks melted just like Paradise. When will people realize our towns are under attack one at a time. a friend of mine wrote a book called Paradise Lost The Great California Fire Chronicles 109 pages and it catalogs all the fires and weaponry used on the fires in CA between 2008 thru 2018 by James W. Lee you can find the book online.
This fire just took out the heart of Lahaina Maui. All the homes. cars. jobs , businesses restaurants, boats and historic spots. This place is main location of tourism business and economic driver for Maui. Its beyond words and devastation cannot describe this feeling of such a deep lost for community and the history it has for over a 100 plus years. We will miss Lahaina and all it offered for everyone who had the chance to experience its uniqueness.
Where have you gone "Lahaina"? You broke my heart, is this reality or just a bad joke 😢? My question is "why", who is responsible for this disaster. It is so wrong, what happened. Let us pray for answers and the recovery of Maui. ❤❤❤
They may have just cleaned out their roof gutters, not had flamable material in their yards and mowed their grass. The smallest things can make a big difference. I have seen it first hand.
How widespread this event was is just unbelievsble, get aid to this area as fast as possible and be searching for loved ones. Heal one day at a time, small steps.
What is needed is a structure that can be easily set up, that covers the size of a house, and can withstand extreme high temperatures, or a way to instantly snuff out fire as it approaches a business or residential structure.
What I'm struggling with is the way the fire kept feeding itself even though the roads act as a fire break. There was a patch of open ground with one building on it which, sadly is now gone but the ground around it looks like nothing happened there. Even the fences are still intact in some places. All very difficult to comprehend. People have lost everything. I hope they can rebuild the homes and communities again. It would be devastating to lose your heritage lands on top of everything else. My prayers and thoughts are with these folks.
What are the marks in the road close to where the yellow fire truck is? I thought perhaps it could have been where downed power lines burned payment, but transformer is still on the pole to the right of it. And I also thought it could be where firetruck had laid hose, and maybe wet looking, but I zoomed in and they didn't have their hose stretched out there.
@@stevenklaunzer9467 oh, that's what I am saying, it was intentional, it wasn't natural. It was dew, and it intentionally burned the area. I am a retired firefighter, never seen anything like that, especially green grass in certain areas as if the fire burned leaving certain things like a trampoline and wooden fence untouched next to where a car had been totally reduced to absolutely nothing. Prayers for the people who lost loved ones, and all they had. Evil elites who think they have gotten the upper hand will be dealt with by the Almighty hand of GOD!
@@constancedenchy9801 Building materials make a difference. Most of Lahaina was wooden construction built decades and decades ago. Fire-resistant roofs and concrete facades in the modern era are more able to survive. I bet the newer buildings have been built to fire codes, maybe the old wooden ones got waivers due to their historical significance??
full of people have money, but dont have any small fire fighting pump available on every 2 house? you surround by infinite water there, just pump the hose on your roof and you can leave it and your house will not easy catch fire,
Yeah, I can imagine for those homeowners the conflict of emotions - relief their homes are okay, but the facsimile of survivor's guilt because so few others are.
almost like the fire had a joy stick controller!!! more amazing is the fact the that trees STILL STANDING WITH JUST THE LEAVES BURNED OFF !!!! but all the houses are burnt to ashes and cars have melted engine blocks and rims ....DEW is a clue
No way this much damage is 100% natural, something sinister helped this massive destruction happen. 2200 buildings? 100s of cars? 100a of people? 10s of boats in the water?
The were smart enough to turn their sprinklers on have seuraste water feed doused roof as ermbers came and very little flammable exterior building material. They purposely built it to be fire resistant as area well known for wildfires. Same materials used in wildfire areas of Calif Oregon past fifteen years or so.
@dustinlynch9367 Would be legally dicey. I stayed there many times. Each apartment is an individually owned condominium unit. Some absentee owners participate in management’s rental programme run by Hyatt, some rent out on their own, others live there full time. I doubt utilities will be up and running for a few months while clean-up is underway.
A bit of luck but fire resistant building materials and a lack of flammable materials around the house make huge differences when it comes to which homes get destroyed and those that just sustain smoke and relatively minor damage. If you live in an area which is potentially susceptible to forest / grass fires, please keep this into consideration. Keep your yard clean by removing dry materials, ensure any firewood you may have is away from the home and remember the extra cost of siding and roof materials has the strong potential of keeping your home from burning in these type of situations. It can even help your neighbours from keeping the fire from spreading too. Embers can fly a long distance and land on your roof, decking or bushes near the house and cause you to lose your home. There are many other things you can do. By no means am I blaming anyone, but just throwing out the information to make folks aware. I spent 30 + professional years dealing with these type of situations post fire and have seen preventative measures save homes.
As was the case with the California fires a few years ago, which some speculated were purposely started by laser technology, we have whole houses reduced to white ash while nearby trees remain standing. When I think "wildfire," I'm thinking wildlife and plants are destroyed, with plants being the first to ignite. The white remnants, as opposed to the expected charred black remains of typical house fires, look like the aftermath of 9-11 at Ground Zero.
Wow! I was thinking that too then I came across your input! This to me just isn't a NATURAL" disaster! The Lahainas tried to hold on to their heritage. Indigenous Hawaiian natives were moving to Seattle because they couldn't afford to stay because of the "Rich" & tourism. The US & corporations were going to make Lahaina the first "ALL ELECTRIC ISLAND" trains, cars, homes, all "AI" supposedly for climate change but the natives were fighting against it. indigenous Hawaiians stated "They wanted their ISLANDS back and were fighting entrenched bureaucracy. I guess one could say "They were collateral damage? Makes you wonder if there is any "truth" to these rumors, huh?
Notice how the engine blocks of cars were reduced to pools of melted metal? Do you think a wildfire did this? We've seen this before, in places such as Paradise, CA, and also ground zero. Technology is being used to cause this destruction. This is another Blackrock WEF/UN job to turn Lahaina into a smart city.
Thanks for the responses, everyone. When I wrote my post, I had known nothing about the Big Business and Big Government plot to steal Lahaina. Knowing that now makes the aftermath images make sense.
Yes, this is Lahaina’s 9/11. I’m from NYC and was in 9/11. My heart goes out to Lahaina - the survivors, the victims and the spirit of the town. 🙏🙏🙏❤️🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing a full video of the town. This is so tragic and unbelievable. Our hearts go out to Maui, familes and friends. Our nation is grieving and praying for you. God bless!
Of course our hearts are with the people but this is a most important moment: we cannot let them get away with this. We must take control of the investigations, particularly the autopsies of the bodies and body counts. The world must rise and show that we had enough: this is ways more than enough.
Incredible. I can't believe that I just seen where my brother, wife and their 7 year old daughters house was just a few days ago .now it nothing but ash. I'm so sad for them and of course all of his neighbors that lossed everything due to this firestorm also. This is like a insane devastating nightmare except it's not a dream it's real..I am very thankful that his and his family made it out of there with they lives. And very sad and heartbreaking for the ones who did not make it out alive ..😢
Condolences to those who lost a loved one & sending blessed prayers to everyone in Maui. Before rebuilding, Maui homeowners please learn from the 1993 Laguna Beach fire where only one home in Mystic Hill was the only left untouched by it--was spared due to its construction and landscape design. The house featured double-pained glass which helps keep heat from igniting the draperies inside the house, a tile roof sealed with concrete on the ends to keep sparks out, and stuccoed eves to hide any exposed wood. Landscaping zones of fire resistant plants also helped. Just some suggestions. The unexpected has already happened. We must learnt from it…Zhang in there and don’t ever sell your land. Build a yurt or tent to live even if y have to temporarily. If everyone work together, help to clear the debris, build a new community, a memorial to those who died and to ensure that this time, newly elected local & city gov use federal funds to rebuild infrastructure that are safer would be important. Fire everywhere at the top who was too lazy to think about this possible scenario of safety concerns. Lahaina can only exists and thrive again when you persist & believe she has a future, now and into the future.
I’m literally thinking something about the power grid here has to be flawed. The second thing I noticed in this footage is that the surrounding green space isn’t torched. The fire concentrated in the buildings and infrastructure within the city. Why? What caused the city to become an inferno, while the surrounding fields and open grasslands remained unscorched . Something seems very strange about this. I live in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and am used to forest fires that engulf everything in their path. Why did this fire only destroy the town itself? Our atmospheric system is completely different from Hawaii, but it just seems extremely weird to me. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?
@@MsK-xm7vw Density of buildings. Buildings are far more flammable than forests. The fire hops from home to home, crossing streets. These home have hundreds of flammable items in them that you won't find in a forest. You don't have a car with fuel every 100 yards in the Rocky Mountains. You don't have gas mains running through streets for miles. In addition to this materials aspect, this fire was being fed by a hurricane also. Near drought conditions affect built up areas more than it affects sheltered forested areas. All of these things combined to create the circumstances for this disaster.
We're all sorry -- still -- for the victims, loved ones, businesses, survivors from Laguna Beach's (Calif.) own fire 30 years ago. That said: the contributing conditions, depth of disaster, enormity of destruction, high level of loss of life, etc. differences between Laguna Beach then and the Lahaina inferno August 2023 with 80 mph winds assuring the fire wouldn't stop and WOULD spread to the water's edge and beyond are 'apples and oranges' -- to use an expression as old as time itself. How many of Lahaina's hundreds of nuked houses and buildings and structures would have survived -- if only the owners had used "double-pained glass," "stuccoed eves to hide exposed wood" and "landscaping with fire resistant plants"? The answer is in the single digits, if any. THIS was of a magnitude 'something else all together.' "Mahalo, KITV and DLNR."
This is insane. Horrific. The whole town is razed. I'm always amazed that you find little spots where a house is untouched and all the surroundings are burnt to the ground. Very surreal.
Lord, I pray we bring the full capability and resources of this great nation to restore Lahaina to what it once was, I pray for the people and those grieving!

In two days my husband and would have been in Maui at one of the Westin Resorts. For the grace of God we were spared. For everyone who has ever been and for those who always wanted to go to this paradise we are humbled by this destruction of property and life that can never be replaced. People especially on the West coast where the islands are very familiar and for years part of our lives. This would have most likely been our last trip as my husband is 93 and I am battling cancer. Aside of our monetary contribution I wish we could do more. Prayers to those who are left and to those who will-make the effort to do what they can to help them re-build.
The land can be reclaimed and new buildings built, hopefully they will plan the area out better and add in some natural fire breaks to prevent this from happening again.
I'm so very sorry for the losses of the people and the destruction of this beautiful place. It's just heartbreaking and I'm sending you prayers and my condolences for your loss. 🙏🤲🥺💔

@@toddinthemiddle I was referring to the Biblical teaching of God comforting and strengthening people and His ability to bring something beneficial out of a bad situation. Jesus said, 'in this world you will have tribulation.' Whether saint or sinner, there is no escaping trouble. We are on Satan's territory. Only when Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom will there be peace. Then and only then will the devil's reign of terror be over. Hope you choose to be a part of Christ's kingdom someday.
I will just never understand how these fires like in California and here In Hawaii can burn so intense and fast they turn homes into piles of white ash, melt steel, destroy so much and yet the grass, trees around homes, businesses are mostly untouched, some structures that sit in the middle of ash are untouched. It's almost like the fire is controlled by remote and guided to just destroy certain areas and things. For fire to make it's way to boats on the water and burn them with the same force getting hot enough to explode the gas tanks then jump across water to the next boat. Or areas where there is no structure but there is grass, trees, etc it seems the fire just skipped that area completely. I have never seen fire do this in the past.
Having a large irrigated lawn saved these. No embers could find dry tinder to erupt into flames. This is what a "fire break" is. Smoke jumpers reason for existing is to create these, either by dampness or controlled burns. The real question should be, in a state where they always vote for god daddy democrats and their handouts, why were people left to die without a warning or evacuation. Daddy proved his worthlessness. They were too busy worrying about Ukraine. Gotta protect the Biden Families treasonous criminal enterprises.
I live in Kauai, but I lived on Maui from 2019-2021. This is just like WOW, like, WOW-so hard to believe. Please don’t misunderstand what I am about to say, but to a degree it reminds me of when Kobe died. Obviously this is an exponentially bigger tragedy, but there is a similar sense of shock and disbelief-like, things that don’t happen are happening. We are living in very biblical times-plagues, fires, earthquakes, fear, tyrants, destruction, famines-I encourage everyone to SEEK GOD and to seek Godliness. 🙏❤️✝️
A hundred thousand+ people die per day on Earth. Kobes death meant less than them all. Media trash demanded you worship an elitist that had a private helicopter. They will always demand the serf to worship their elite kin. While you ignore thousands of amazing human beings who would have fed you if hungry, not spit on you and had private security beat you.
What strikes me, is how brown and dry looking the whole surrounding area is. When you think of Hawaii, you think lush and green. This land looks nothing like that. This is obviously a very dry part of the island. It's no wonder it went up in flames the way it did.
Hawaii is technically tropical but there are various micro climate conditions all over the islands depending on elevation and density of population etc. They were also experiencing something of a drought. Most of the old buildings are decades old, even a hundred or more, and they're made of wood. The more modern buildings you see still standing appear to be brick/concrete.
High mountains and wind direction causes what is called a rain shadow. Windward sides stop the clouds (which induces rain) and is accordingly green, leeward sides dont get much rain unless its winter
Gates/Biden/Clinton collective going to be investing heavily in Maui. They lost their Little St.James play place, so theyre looking for a new one. This is an opportunity they cant afford to miss.
This was caused by electric poles and wires downed by high winds. In California they have learned to shut down the electricity when winds this high are expected. And since there was a hurricane passing to the south these winds were predictable.
yeah blame the wind ... not human error, never is, never will be. or stupidity not figuring out a way to shut it off automatically before it sets a fire. burying power lines will cost a fortune but it will create jobs because they don't want to figure out a way to make them safer. it will happen again and again until someone in these multimillion dollar companies actually do something instead of blaming it on the wind and then paying off the lawmakers to keep quiet. what a shame! and this one cost many lives. like terrorism or arsonists but you pay them.
Not one source has named the cause yet. It is just as likely to have started in the countless homeless camps littering the island. A red hot meth pipe, or a alcohol stove made of tin cans. Those who profit from homeless services will surely blame the power lines though. They have to protect their cash cow.
and that's the thing, you will never find out because they will blame the wind, or scape goat the people they have displaced for land speculation, or on the climate, it is never some bufoon overpaid company that has known about dry conditions for over fifty years and yet done nothing except spend a LOT of money on media ads showing how AWESOME they are and not fixing the power lines. Because when they admit fault it isnt done in the media it is done in court.@@jakewilson7112
They do not know what caused of the initial brush fire yet. But here there is a growing consensus that negligence contributed greatly after the fact . There was a brush fire. It was stated that it was under control. The area was left unattended after being "under control". Winds picked up due to hurricane off-shore and a high pressure to the north. The previously "under control" bush fire still had embers. The embers reignited due to high winds fueling it........ 'unattended' and not monitored embers not completely extinguished reignited! The rest is now history. Draw your own conclusions.
We should be questioning that. A house surrounded by incinerated buildings but it is still intact. How is that possible? That big resort looks untouched but all around it is devastation...weird
We were there 11 months ago. It was a beautiful town. So many good memories. Seeing this devastation is heart-breaking. So many burned homes have cars in front. I shudder to think how many people may have gotten caught completely unawares and were unable to get out at all. :(
It is the locals and the natives that have the greatest losses. they had the old homes that were all wood that were the most inundated. .. tears keep flowing.. prayers for the ones that lost so much.
How did this fire start..why are we not hearing anything as to where and how it first started..we know the flames once started for fan by trade winds. I want go know exactly where and how this started someone has to know ?
I wanna know why no power ( "several" electric poles broke) no cell phone tower (broke down too) an no water (run by electricity) when fire broke out, the people had no clue an how people were burned to ashes.
Hurricane near Maui was pushing winds to 80mph. This downed electric poles, cell service and spread the fire super fast through a town of mostly wooden buildings. @@islandhi2u

i think of all the beautiful art that is now gone forever, i hope the banyan tree survives and local artists create a fitting memorial to all the souls lost. prayers from carolina to all affected.
Building planning and approval is so important because a few years ago when there were catastrophic fires in Greece their towns were very close to the ocean like Lahaina but many older Greeks think that planning rules don't apply to them and they were putting up cheap beach shacks and extending their beach homes without permission. Gates and fences by locals were put up illegally right near the coast and so people fleeing the flames couldn't make it to the ocean because they were stuck behind locked gates and illegal buildings blocking their access points.......That is why beaches are open like that in America so if you have to flee a fire You see the ocean and drive to the end of the road for easy beach access.
Thanks for the video... I've seen a lot of what a serious fire does (California, etc), but I don't recall seeing such devastation, not to mention loss of life... I can't get over the swaths of structures almost completely raised into an ash stain, and then, you have home right in the middle (both sides, or all sides) that look like there wasn't even a fire near them... One day it would be good to know if these are all new build vs. older homes and businesses.. Wow.. What a scorched earth nightmare.. :(
the towns in cali that burned were larger actually. loss of life was due to trash politicians and public services not evacuating this area. They clearly saved themselves while people died. Even detestable Cali got their citizens out of the path of death.
Would it be possible to have KITV post the entire flight? This posted video cuts in several areas as the chopper is flying over certain areas. Is there a public version of this video that is unedited?
Such a tragedy! 🥲 everyone packs into the oceans edge so close, it’s a chain reaction when fire breaks out! Those winds driving the fire must have been brutal! May those who lost their lives Rest In Peace, and May God help all who were affected recover from this tragedy. 🙏🌷

The trees are living & filled with water. Much harder to burn. Especially if it's a fast moving fire. It's not uncommon for the trees to be ok but the dead dry wood if houses buildings burned to the ground. Trees are made to survive fires.

You know about wildfires then. Is this footage typical of a burnt town in Australia, as it looks so strange to me? Trees here and there and buildings next to devastation?
@@nidh1109 I agree. Trees left standing but almost all cars are burnt out shells - metal even melted!

This in my humble opinion is another attack on our towns, Agenda 21 burn the people off the land and take everything away from them. The Winds came up soon as the fire started right?
What are the marks in the road close to where the yellow fire truck is?
@@MsK-xm7vw sm*art me*tors....?
That said:
the contributing conditions, depth of disaster, enormity of destruction, high level of loss of life, etc. differences between Laguna Beach then and the Lahaina inferno August 2023 with 80 mph winds assuring the fire wouldn't stop and WOULD spread to the water's edge and beyond are 'apples and oranges' -- to use an expression as old as time itself.
How many of Lahaina's hundreds of nuked houses and buildings and structures would have survived -- if only the owners had used "double-pained glass," "stuccoed eves to hide exposed wood" and "landscaping with fire resistant plants"?

Stay frosty, WEF is playing....stay sharp.
Having a large irrigated lawn saved these. No embers could find dry tinder to erupt into flames. This is what a "fire break" is. Smoke jumpers reason for existing is to create these, either by dampness or controlled burns.
Lahaina is on the leeward side of the island, where it is normally very dry and sunny. The windward side is very lush and green with lots of rain.
It's more than just being the dry side of the island. Some of those buildings stood for 200 years. Conditions have changed.
I have to correct you. We are not tropical; we are subtropical. @@ct5625

All the trees are still standing. Absolutely Direct energy weapon.
This was caused by electric poles and wires downed by high winds. In California they have learned to shut down the electricity when winds this high are expected. And since there was a hurricane passing to the south these winds were predictable.
PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric) learned that lesson the hard way
yeah blame the wind ... not human error, never is, never will be. or stupidity not figuring out a way to shut it off automatically before it sets a fire. burying power lines will cost a fortune but it will create jobs because they don't want to figure out a way to make them safer. it will happen again and again until someone in these multimillion dollar companies actually do something instead of blaming it on the wind and then paying off the lawmakers to keep quiet. what a shame! and this one cost many lives. like terrorism or arsonists but you pay them.

At this moment in time it does not matter how it started. All that matters is helping the people.
@@williamdavis3776it matters as much as why 4 days after your comment these people are still not getting any aid.

So sorry. Praying the rosary. I remember the banyon tree. Love you Hawaii Maui and all the islands.
Yeah, I could always score some weed under the banyan tree.
Must have been the wildest wildfire in human history if it can turn over large boats parked on water.
They overturned it to use the fuel...Easier for the cowards to set fires at night
This is prime real estate. I will be watching as to who owns it after the clean-up.
seeing that fire pattern raises some questions
@0:37 How? Just how did that house with the red roof (and lawn) survive the fire?
How did the fire get started?
It hurts knowing it’s just gone like that I’m so lucky to have been there and experienced that beautiful place
Direct Energy Weapons. This was not natural.
most likely caused by a homeless camp. Meth pipes get red hot.
I feel so sad. I lived in Lahaina for three months while working on a project. Such a wonderful community in paradise. I need to return the favors this place gave to me.
They got Blowtorched by the powers at hand.

Looks like DEW is at it again !
This was not a normal fire. This was created to destroy.. prayers for the people that are involved. So sad..
And the half-baked conspiracy theories begin to rear their silly heads.

It’s really surprising, especially in the beginning, how you see areas of burn but inside there are places still standing and untouched.
what utter and complete horror for the sweet natives ... the destruction is breathtaking!Thank you Tom for sharing !
Thinking of all and sending my deepest sympathies!
Did anyone notice at 1.09 in the video, that big hotel totally unscathed. Even the grounds and trees surrounding it. How lucky for its corporate owners.
That's not the aftermath of a "WILDFIRE"
So, what really happened, oh, Wise One?
@@Firedog-ny3cqwhy don't you enlighten us, o vaxxed CIA bot?😂
So sorry @philyeary8809, this was directed at Firedog
There were strong high winds coming down from the mountains because of a nearby hurricane. Those winds caused the fire to spread out of control.

Pathetic aren't you?
So very sorry Hawaii people all our thoughts and prayers with you all and familys!!
My heart goes out to all affected by this horrible fire. I live in California and have seen wildfires. Something doesn't seem right
to many convenient coincidences.
i think of all the beautiful art that is now gone forever, i hope the banyan tree survives and local artists create a fitting memorial to all the souls lost. prayers from carolina to all affected.
The majority of the structures were wood, only industrial and modern hotels were concrete.
As in Reichstag
the towns in cali that burned were larger actually. loss of life was due to trash politicians and public services not evacuating this area. They clearly saved themselves while people died. Even detestable Cali got their citizens out of the path of death.
So weird how it didn’t touch the mansions.
Would it be possible to have KITV post the entire flight? This posted video cuts in several areas as the chopper is flying over certain areas. Is there a public version of this video that is unedited?
No.
Thry edited out the more obvious sabotage.
I was able to find buildings and landmarks to follow along with the camera. Thank you. Such devastation, it's very sad.
Such a tragedy! 🥲 everyone packs into the oceans edge so close, it’s a chain reaction when fire breaks out! Those winds driving the fire must have been brutal! May those who lost their lives Rest In Peace, and May God help all who were affected recover from this tragedy. 🙏🌷
So so sad all those lives lost may their souls rest in peace
Peace love and strength to be people of Lahaina.

“What you’re not hearing from our local government…
I just got out of a meeting where I was informed by someone in the Mayor’s office about developments that are being kept from the public. I am not a conspiracy theorist and I don’t want to make trouble but here’s what I’ve heard:
- The amount of fatalities is expected to be more than 500 but less than 1000.
Many of the fatalities will be children who were at home because they canceled school. Parents worked and were not there to evacuate the children. Kids had no idea they needed to leave and by the time they noticed their homes or apartments were on fire, it was too late.
- The government is worried about how we will react when we learn that the fire department left the fire earlier in the day and claimed it was 100% contained knowing that the winds were expected to be 70mph by the afternoon. This is against all fire control protocols. The fire department should not have left the original fire unattended.
- They are scared that the public calls for accountability will be more than they can control and protests and riots will occur.
- They plan to lock down Lahaina for several months. It will take months to clean up the hazardous and environmental contamination.
- They won’t have enough housing for All the displaced.
-There were 2,000 unaccounted for this morning. They have a list where they are trying to keep track. They found 700 today. But there are still 1300 missing.
- They are very worried that the community is going to freak out when they find out how not a single fire truck responded to the fires.
- The emergency sirens were not activated (hurricane sirens) and loss of life could have been kept down by better emergency management which utterly failed.”
If you ask me, this is not incompetence, it’s a planned crisis

Explain how the house's are burnt to the ground but the trees are standing.
The trees are living & filled with water. Much harder to burn.
Especially if it's a fast moving fire. It's not uncommon for the trees to be ok but the dead dry wood if houses buildings burned to the ground. Trees are made to survive fires.
@@Nirrrina Melted engine blocks, twisted metal. Ground does not burn and glow like hot coals for hours. In Paradise the National Guard, FEMA, and Homeland Security were encamped two weeks before the so called fires. Only the homes were burnt, they came in and harvested the trees after the fire.
it always amazes me, how out of control fires, can spare that random house....
