Many apps have got so bad. What’s the point of an app if it logs you out all the time, and needs an internet connection to show anything? It’s just a website at that point!

Agree with you on the logging out point, the micro-short sessions that seem to have no rhyme or reason as to when they end enrage me. I straight up uninstall anything that behaves that way. If you follow good pwd practices, your pwd will be impossible to remember so get the hell out of here with that ish.

I've read a lot of EU regulation and usually the regulation just lays out it's intention and then gives examples of what may go against the regulation. This means that even if you don't break the examples you might be in violation of the intention of the law and still get fined. This will at the end of the day have to be looked at by a court and if you genuinly didn't think you broke the law and get compliant in a timely manner then you might get off without a fine, but in the case of Apple for example they've doubled down to a redicilous degree so I think at this point they'll have to pay some fine even if it might get reduced.
As the Mac writer on staff, Horst really needs multiple office iPhones that he can load the betas on to.

I’m amazed he doesn’t do more motorcycle related Apple stuff like reviewing motorcycle mounts, phone as dashcam solutions, etc.
Until the last MAC address I didn’t even know he rode motorcycles.

Because they didn't explicitly say what it was (unless my mind skipped over it): Without RCS, Android users could only send MMS to iMessage users. Made images and videos look really bad because the maximum size for MMS is usually around 300 KB (some carriers allow 500 KB). For reference: A photo taken with the back camera of a Pixel 6 Pro is usually anywhere between 3000 and 6000 KB, so 10 to 20 times the standard maximum MMS file size.
Videos sent from my iPhone friends are like, lower than 140p quality. It's terrible
Plus mms can be outside of your plan so getting mms can cost you money.

I believe those laptops just live there permanently, they look the same as on the WAN show
And standard tech in any company of a moderate size makes sense.

@@sheesh9050 I get that, but I don't think it's accurate. They want to keep this artificial divider between the Mac like and the iPad line because in reality they are both just computers. Apple needs to limit the iPads functionality so that it's no "competing" with their PC line. But I think it's just idiotic to put artificial limits on your computer. It would be more valuable if the product could actually use its full utilization
@@JakobEslinger They want to sell multiple devices. There is no reason for not being able to dock your iphone and running it as a desktop with macos. Just artificial limitation because of wanting to sell more devices and pollute more.

39:43 we use chat gpt to write longer and more elaborate emails to people who use chat gpt to summarize these emails. Instead of just writhing only what’s necessary in the email at first

As I see it the other VR heads sets are better. The only things that the Vision Pro has going for it are the interface and the integration with their ecosystem.
This looks like a WAN Show from an alternate universe.
The only thing with the calculator, not having tried it so I might be wrong, is that it seems basically the same as Microsoft Math Solver which has been around (and an IOS app) for years. maybe the Apple one can do more, but it sure looks extremely similar.
Honestly, as a European, I'm more excited about interoperability of chat providers. You CANNOT live/work in a modern environment without using WhatsApp at the moment because everything from work scheduling chats to class chats to contact for job applications goes through WhatsApp and it's just a privacy nightmare

VR folks I know use it for VR Gaming, 3d content watching and 3d sculpting/painting/animating.. but not watching 2d content or screen sharing much. I think the lack of VR 3D gaming on Vision Pro meant it was missing VR/AR's most popular use. Leaving it as mostly a content viewing device..
Bing Copilot on More Creative mode is next level, to me. I used it to review basically every five paragraph or so of my dissertation last year, asked if there were references I missed, including any refutation of my thesis, etc. I've also gotten pretty well reasoned answers on complex topics.
I liked this new format.
I'm from a small town in Virginia 1 hour north of Roanoke. Closest place I think an MC could go is Harrisonburg, VA. It would be 1 hour 15 min away. That's better than 3 hours to go to DC or 4 hours to Charlotte, NC

The vision pro was just the Zune 20 years later. It didn't do enough to distinguish itself and came out too late and was too expensive. If it was the same tech 1/3 the price and was able to do things then it would be very cool

19:55 it's really important to understand the EU central governance consists of 3 main parts;
The EU commission that goes out and talks to experts and affected people about all sorts of topics to make sure the EU is working for everyone and if it isn't their job is to research and provide draft legislation to the Parliament
The EU parliament who are all democratically elected representatives, their job is to vote on Commission presented legislation and propose their own legislation
The Council of Europe who is made up of the leaders of the member states who deliberate on how they will comply with legislation that is passed by the Parliament
The Commission testing and adjusting is a give-and-take process that in this case gives Apple all the space they want to change how they do what they do as long as it's not negatively impacting people who live in the EU. So if Apple are being told "we recognise you've made this change but this specific aspect we don't like" that's the Commission *still* being nice to Apple. If it was say USA, CCP, or Federal Russia the Dear Leader would have just said "This is exactly how it will be and you will have to suck it", so in this way the EU is trying to please everyone and of course Apple will try and pretend that it's all so hard and dry their tears with their billions of dollars of annual revenue
