Now I'm training a young HW in the Amateurs and your videos really help me remember what/how I learned. It's been a long time, but your videos help me remember parts I've forgot. I've always remember my Trainer yelling to me constantly.."TECNICA, TECNICA"..(Technique, technique).. Your Videos are 100% the Cuban way. Thanks.

Nice video. Balance is so important some people are more coordinated than others but you could fix that with practice you could get more agile with practice too. Great video

My footwork gets kind of messy and inconsistent though, especially with the jab and left slip. It would be helpful to break down the footwork too if that isnt too much additional work. Through this I realized that maybe I should use the first 1or 2 punches in a combination to just close the gap -rather than try to land accurately and with power and then be a position to land the big one…if I’m lucky and get better I may just land all three … 🙏🏼😊

Charles can you make a video combining boxing training with salsa steps? I’ve learned to dance bachata (a bit lol) but the 4 step footwork isn’t working that great with me trying to learn the Cuban style of boxing 😓
Coach, first of all I love your videos very detailed and technical but I have a question about when to lift your hill like sometimes I see you lift it in the front but then sometimes don’t and sometimes you lift both so when should I lift my lead hill and when to be flat footed same for my rear hill.
There could be a number of reasons. 1. Try to focus on moving your back foot forward with the cross punch, so you don't restrict your hip and shoulder. 2. Is your padman placing the pads side by side instead of one behind the other??? Your opponent doesnt have two heads. 3. Are you punching with confidence or are you holding back and not commiting? Instead of throwing the jab to punish your opponent, throw it to touch your opponent so you know where he is and then commit with the cross. Your front foot should be flat footed with the jab so that you are balanced for the more powerful cross punch.
@@Charlessalbox The first and Last tips are really solid. Because thinking about it im stepping in with the jab but by not commiting it. I wont step with my back foot forward.
Charles : could you share your thoughts on Yuriorkis Gamboa ? He was unlucky with injuries but was he badly managed ? Or did he have a flaw in his style that could have been corrected .? He had huge potential but somehow it all fizzled out . A reminder that Boxing is the toughest - and cruellest - game ..

My fav combo is jab , right uppercut and left hook. And i do it when they throw a quick jab so i do it as a counter or Kontra as we say.

I'm beginner. I can hit fast with a single jab. But I can't hit a cross. How do I hit a jab-cross combination?
