- BUTTER BEANS - GIANT BEANS -“ΦΑΣΟΛΙΑ ΓΙΓΑΝΤΕΣ”
GREEK RECIPE, IDEAL FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.
VERY TASTY, HEALTHY, VEGETARIAN AND VERY NUTRITIOUS.
INGREDIENTS
2 glasses dried Butter Beans
3 carrots, sliced in small pieces
3 sticks of celery, sliced, with leaves
2 potatoes, diced
1 glass from a can tomatoes liquidised
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 medium onion, diced
1/3 glass olive oil
1/3 glass vegetable oil
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1/2 glass parsley, finely chopped
1 1/2 chicken cubes, cut into small pieces
Season with salt and pepper
Garnish with dill and parsley

Πολύ νόστιμο, υγιεινό, χορτοφάγους και πολύ θρεπτικό
ΣΥΣΤΑΤΙΚΑ
2 ποτήρια ξερά φασόλια
3 καρότα, κομμένα σε φέτες σε μικρά κομμάτια
3 στέλεχος του σέλινου, κομμένο σε φέτες, με φύλλα
2 πατάτες, σε κύβους
1 ποτήρι από την κονσέρβα ντομάτες ρευστοποιηθεί "liquidised"
1 κουταλιά πάστα ντομάτας
1 μέτριο κρεμμύδι, σε κύβους
1/3 ποτήρι ελαιόλαδο
1/3 ποτήρι φυτικό έλαιο
2 σκελίδες σκόρδου, ψιλοκομμένο
1/2 ποτήρι μαϊντανό, ψιλοκομμένο
1 1/2 κύβους κοτόπουλο, κομμένο σε μικρά κομμάτια
Περίοδος με αλάτι και πιπέρι
Γαρνίρουμε με άνηθο και μαϊντανό
Feijão branco gigante ao molho de tomate - INGREDIENTES
2 copos de Feijões branco gigantes
3 cenouras, cortadas em pequenos pedaços
3 varas de aipo, cortado, com folhas
2 batatas cortadas em cubos
Uma lata de tomate em pedacos e em suco
1 colher de sopa de pure de tomate
1 cebola media cortada em pedacinhos
1/3 copo de azeite de oliva
1/3 copo de oleo vegetal
2 dentes de alhos, finamente picado
salsa, finamente picado
1 1/2 cubos de frango, cortados em pedaços pequenos
Tempere com sal e pimenta
Decore com salsa e sirva

Butter beans are quite hard from the beginning. Overnight socking. Now that's something I haven't done in a while. Now watching. Very enjoyable

A very nice looking dish. It dose look very delicious Starvos. It seems so many dishes come in cans or frozen most people don't bother cooking from scratch. But I bet the taste is a world of difference. My Mother is Italian (94 years old) and cooks everything from scratch. We all love her cooking. Hi Carl, thanks for great comment. My mother is also (94 years old) just like your mother... My mother is Greek, and just like the Italians, the Spanish, and all the Mediterranean, people, were family orientated. Always cooked from scratch, and ate around the table as a family. Once a week on a Friday night
we bought (Fish and Chips) as a treat from the shop. Don't worry about the someone you know, I'm going to have a private word in their ear. Hahaha....

I thought you being Spanish of origin, you would be familiar with beans. They do cook them, but with "Chorizo" the Spanish sausage. They are very nice, Nancy, full of flavour and very healthy. Thank you dear friend for lovely comments and compliments!! You can have this dish as a vegan.... I have used a chicken cube to prepare them but you don't have to use it. Beans make an excellent meal. We were brought up with beans in the olden days, as it was the cheapest food you could have, and very filling!! Take care my friend, and have a beautiful day!!! :-)))
