A true classic narrated by a wonderful narrator.
Hearing English people narrate this story is amazing. It sets the scene so well! I love this story.
I howled in laughter when I heard James read this to a bunch of students on Christmas Eve. He would be run out of the building and hauled off by the police if he did that today.

As an expat now living in FL for many many years, I’m still much more drawn to British programs than US programs due to the quality. Also, my American wife is in the same boat. I studied to do voice over work, but it didn’t pan out for me.

I read all of MR James when I was a kid. Iwas a weird kid. Btw, I wonder if any narrator will be able to discern an East Anglian accent, where the stories are set, from the ubiquitous 'Mumerset'.
I did have a go at Norfolk but he wrote them like they were cockneys
