This lens is actually quite useful for some tasks (for me, I bought one used and use it as a backup lens in case one of my other standard zoom lenses deicdes to stop working for whatever reason or gets damaged). But honestly I would never pay the full $399 for it. I paid about $180 for mine (used but in good conditin) but I don't think it's worth $399 new especially since you can get a used 24-70 f/4 for about $400 anyway.
Yeah I think they shot themselves in the foot with that one. Should have made it 4-5.6, that sounds a lot better than 6.3 (even if it's practically the same thing).
@@lensvana This lens should not exist in the first place. We are talking fullframe territory so no room to mess up. Rather use the 28mm f2.8 and the 40mm f2. I have the Z5 but the 24-50mm is really a joke for that camera.
@@Audimann At the prices it's going for on the used market, it's great value for those who need a compact zoom. 24-70 f4 is definitely an upgrade though, lots of used deals for that one too.

@@lensvana Most fuji cameras as over sharp in camera, jpegs, and when you pixelpeep at one point you cannot see what you are looking at cos there are only weird shapes there that mean nothing. If you pixelpeep sony a5100 you find it soft when you zoom in, but still you are able to understand what you are looking at. So to sharpen an image makes no sense when it just destroying the image. With the fuji XF10 I keep sharpness on minus 2, and then if needed I just use clearity on windows 10 and it does the job much better than the fuji camera itself does.
@@jan-martinulvag1962 I ended up not enjoying the X-T1 that much, the files were massive but when I zoomed in I saw strange shapes too. Maybe because it was Lightroom - I know Fuji shooters prefer Capture One. In the end, I can only shoot with one camera at a time - so I pick up the Z5 instead
@@lensvana Yes x-t1 is over sharp too but not as much as X-T100. I have many fuji cameras. I bought a very cheap sony a390. It takes time for things to sink in. I was originally looking for a camera for reproducing paintings. To make a 1 square meter print of a 1 square meter painting you have to have 100 mp. I dont have the money for a Fuji GFX 100s .
I think Nikon just try to rip of consumers with some lenses and the back to 1900 F stops ! and Plastic I am just happy that there is a new lens manufacturer from china with f 1.8 stop for same price and no plastic at all ! Nikon lost me as customer at least for lenses !

Yep, agreed! $180 to 200 sounds about right for this lens. And a used 24-70 F4 is one of the biggest bargains in photography today.
I agree I was thinking also around $200 worth
For a 24-200 I can understand the aperture range but f4-6.3 for a 24-50🤔🤔🤔🤔. Guess that the small package has to do with it.

Do you love the green color that much? i remember once you said that you are partially color blind, but i think you should calibrate your screen.
Haha yes I have a tendency to go overboard on greens and yellows sometimes, will keep that in mind

It's a shame that the Z5 is stubborn as a donkey when it comes to autofocusing.
Check the z5 firmware update, AF really improve
Pixelpeep z5 and x-t4 and tell me what you see
One day I'll try the x-t4, but i get more excited about using old cheap cameras than any of these newer ones

I wasted a lot of time on DP reviews Studio shot comparison tool. I was fooled by the sharpness there of the x-t100. and bought the camera.
