Dante does a very successful Avatar podcast for Nick with Janet Varney, and adores his role as Zuko and the show. There is no way he would have a scheduling conflict, he wants to play the character, and I guarantee he is. I wonder why they are leaving Zuko's info out.
I also thought they already announced he would be Zuko in the animated stuff, or they said it on the podcast? There is no way he isn't a part of it, especially given his amazing relationship with Mike and Bryon.

They have him adventuring in the comics with the GAang in the one where they find his mother, with Iroh ruling in his place for the time. I still find that premise silly, but it was fine. Of course, who even knows if Iroh will be alive in the Animated Movie. Maybe Azula goes through enough rehab she becomes good person (which the comics were hinting at) and could rule benevolently in his place while Zuko goes adventuring? Scratch that, that would take WAY too much explaining...

In the original all of the main characters voice actors were white except for Zuko’s, so here they’re trying to have it be more aligned with the characters being based off of Asian cultures… I’m pretty sure at least

Same reason why they didn't voice their adult versions in LoK (s1 flashback). Most of them can't voice older characters. Sokka's voice actor is infamous for voicing younger characters. Pretty sure Toph VA doesn't voice older characters either. And Katara's VA isn't active anymore.
Aang looks funny with the childlike face as an adult. I liked that they aged him up in the Korra series. I don't get why people complained. People don't look the same as they age.

Dave Bautista is Zaheer (Korra’s main bad in season 3). Dave looks like him and it would make sense for him to be in the movie, seeing as this movie would explain why he hates the avatar and why he has a scar on the back of his head! (Due to Sokka throwing a boomerang at the back of his head.) The gaang would lock him away and he would escape in Legend of Korra.

I'm always nervous when they cast known screen actors with no experience as VA actors, it's often done for marketing purposes, and it leaves established VAs out to dry. Voice acting is its own craft, very different from set acting, and not every screen actor makes a great transition (with obviously great exceptions like Dante Basco, Robin Williams and Mark Hamill, so don't @ me). I'm not saying screen actors CAN'T make good VAs, just that a good screen actor doesn't always make a good VA or vice versa. It will also of course depend on the voice direction as well, which was excellent for ATLA, so here's hoping it works out.

I'm always nervous when they cast known screen actors with no experience as VA actors, it's often done for marketing purposes, and it leaves established VAs out to dry. Voice acting is its own craft, very different from set acting, and not every screen actor makes a great transition (with obviously great exceptions like Dante Basco, Robin Williams and Mark Hamill, so don't @ me). I'm not saying screen actors CAN'T make good VAs, just that a good screen actor doesn't always make a good VA or vice versa. It will also of course depend on the voice direction as well, which was excellent for ATLA, so here's hoping it works out.
Bring in Bautista as Combustion Man's son. Here to avenge his father's death. He's had 12 years to develop his combustion bending techniques and he's ready to seek revenge.
