- Day 3 and 4 (Part 2) of the road trip from Tulum to Puerto Escondido. We spent the day in Bacalar, chilling by the lagoon and taking a private boat tour. The next day we drove all the way through Campeche and into Villahermosa in Tabasco, stopping at El Hormiguero Mayan Ruins along the way.

As a former American expat to Mexico City when you didn’t post for a bit I said to my Mexican hubs that you’ve either been abducted 😉 oooorrrrr met a beautiful Mexican man and fell in love. He agreed it could go either way. Glad it was the latter lol Cheers to your new love!

Dude, that sunrise made me cry (for real), Bacalar is such a magical place and very special for me. Best sunrises ever, the lagoon is in “recuperación” right now and I hope you give yourself a chance to go back and see it’s magical different tones of blue.

Bacalar in Quintana Roo State, South East Mexico, is near the border with Belize. Despite the absence of an actual beach, we think it's an awesome tourist town. Its location on the shores of the impressive Laguna de Bacalar more than compensates.
All I can say is:

I use to always go to bacalar and chetumal since it’s near Belize city Belize.

They are doing rave parties on the beach at Zipolite in Oaxaca. Make your way there!
Love your videos so much !! Would you say that it's essential to have some knowledge of Spanish to travel in South & Central America? Also, would you recommend going to these areas at the moment to travel since they're some of the only places open x
I wouldn’t say it’s essential as such but it’s definitely going to make your life a whole lot easier and is definitely worth learning at the very least the basics! As for travel at the moment, personally I think slow travel is what we should all be sticking to. Backpacking certainly isn’t like what it once was right now!

I know your no staying in Mexico for a long time. But if you come back. You should check .LAS GRUTAS DE TOLONTONGO in the state of Hidalgo. There volcanic grouts, with natural swing pools in a mountain with blue water and water falls from the montains. Also check Tamul, Puente de Dios , Tomasopo, Micos in the statevof San luis Potosi. The rivers and waterfalls are pure blue turquoise water from the mountains. There turist atractions. Check videos on RUclips from them. . Especially from a Channel name Viaje fest. I like your videos.

Are you still on a budget travel?
Yes! I’m still continuing to budget throughout my trip! On this road trip, I’m certainly going over my budget but I hope to balance that out when I arrive in my new destination!
What do you say about driving in Mexico? I heard some bad things, that it's not very safe.
There are a LOT of potholes. I hate driving here and avoid it lol. David is pretty good at it though 😅
