I agree. Few years ago I was abused, by a girl I did everything to make smile. To be honest It (......)ed me up for a few years. But now I found a girl that I am so proud to call mine, she never makes me feel how she did. But I still have an odd attraction to the whole mentality. I by no means approve it or anything but I do understand where you're coming from. Because there's not that many songs that capture the other's side whether it be wrong or right, good or bad. I feel like the English version is so much more harsh than the Japanese version. This is probably because the Japanese do not have cuss words that are expressed during segments of extreme emotion. For example, in the original, instead of "love me, hate me, fuck me, fuck off" it's "aishite, aishite, aishite, aishite, aishite", which is simply repeating "love me". Did you have any intentions on making this one appear to be harsher? Then again, I do not know the English equivalent to the exact Japanese version, so it may just be relating to the atmosphere. :/

Sort of? This is sort of based on the original english lyrics I wrote, then amplified (in conjunction wtth Geiky) a bit more to show the point-of-view of the abuser, along with it being based on our own experiences.
This is an older song but it still slaps and I see a lot of concepts about yandere vs abuser. This is obviously from the pov of an abuser. Reasons?
Yandere:
- Devoted and in love with the person
- Will go as far as to commit acts of violence for their loved one
- Will stalk, orbit, and overprotect to the point of suffocation.
This song:
- She shows obvious disgust towards the person, but stays as a sick sort of pity and her own inferiority causes an attached state because everyone who has loved her has "lied"
- She openly describes the relationship as "simple as chewing needles"
- She sees the victim as pathetic and a hypersexual mess who only wants her body.
- She seems to be more inclined to commit violence unto the victim, and by her words we know she yells already.
Likely the singer of this song was abused, manipulated and lied to many times in the past. This warped her sense of love and made her cold, believing everyone only "loved" her for some different motive. She likely doesn't believe she can be abusive because she was abused, so she sees the victim as a liar and a weakling.

Typical Yandere: A person who appears sweet at first, but who could turn into a cold murderer if the love of their life is in danger. The Yandere will often perpetuate violent and insane acts when in crisis.
This song: A person who tries to keep a facade of loving someone depsite said person making them want to puke. They are abusive to their partner but stays with them because of a strange and toxic attraction. Seems to be in some sort of crazy mental crisis or breakdown.

I expressed myself poorly.
Lots of Vocaloid songs are meant to be "creepy and scary" but use fantasmagorical problems and issues, when the ones that are real are far more scary. And most of the time I'm pissed off, because when a song is about realistic issues, vocaloid fans try to find a hidden spooky story behind it (by example: Oh I bet she died, oh I bet she killed him) when it's far more creepy or sad when it's about reality, things that really happen.
By example, people try to make this song about yanderes, while it's far more creepy when you consider it's about an abusive lover, a thing that can happen to just about anyone.
(Another example would be the song "my friend was good at drawing" in which Miku doesn't love back her friend, so they let the distance grow between them, and in the end, they don't talk anymore but she stills wonder about his whereabouts. Well people speculate that Miku died hit by a train, and I find it dissapointing because the song is way more touching with a realistic tone.)

When i was in an abusive relationship i sent this song to him. He got mad. The relationship was so toxic i fear i may have been manipulative or abusive in defense. This song perfectly captures the unsettling feeling of being drawn to someone who you can't stand
As someone who loves Yanderes and have researched them for almost a decade now, I need to formally state that this song is *not* from the perspective of a Yandere. It's from the perspective of an abuser who finds her lover completely repulsive, but stays with them out of some twisted sort of pity and attraction. A typical Yandere is hopelessly obsessed with their loved one, and are willing to commit acts of violence or other crimes in order to have them.
The only part of the song that has any similarity to a Yandere is the chorus, which is why I think some people mistaked the song for being that of a Yandere. But if you pay attention to the rest of lyrics you'll see that this character is the complete opposite of a Yandere, a Yandere is *obsessed* with their loved one they aren't secretly disgusted by them. So please stop calling this song a Yandere song, and instead appreciate it for what it is as a wonderful song from the point of view of an abusive lover.

This reminds me of a character in my book. She's the ex-fiance of my main male lead, and she was incredibly emotionally/verbally abusive towards him. This song is how I imagine she used to talk to him. Especially the line "yet I just keep making love to this ugly, ugly you." I love listening to this as I write. Really helps me set the tone. You're very talented!

The story is mostly about their respective emotional damage and how they heal one another. Her from an abusive family, him from an abusive ex. The ex was an incredibly beautiful fairy who made herself out to be a heroine, someone who sacrificed her better options to love an "ugly, damaged" guy like him.

Coming back to this years later and seeing the comments are hurting my brain. I always thought it was just about a toxic relationship in which the singer is abused but stays around because they *"love"* them.
I really related to this song when I went through a terrible break up because I thought that.
But now I'm told it's From the abusers POV and I don't know what to think.
Honestly, this is how I initially read this song too, it felt to me like the victim despises their abuser, but remains at their side out of sympathy, a desire to "fix" the abuser, etc. To me it could have been not even a case of abuse, but just hatred towards a partner, that clashes with residual positive feelings.
It is common for abusers to pretend, or genuinely believe that they're the victims, but this is not a sign that you're the "bad guy" in that relationship or whatever, you were in a very vulnerable place after a breakup, and your interpretation of the song is at least more valid than the - surprisingly still common - yandere nonsense. I hope you're doing well.

I used to listen to this song and jam out to it when it first came out. Presently, I got out of a 7-year relationship and found this song again today. I feel complete and utter relation to it. What she says is the part of me deep down that wishes to say the same things. "Needing endless care, your ego so small and feeble." I would go out of my way to make sure he was happy. I wouldn't hang out with friends. I'd just spend every waking moment with him. "Loving me, filling your facade, it was all just a lie." Only for him to cheat on me 5 times plus countlessly lying about everything. Three of those times with the same girl. My 'best' friend. Yet I just went on. Cause I loved him so very much. Even the abusive parts of the song like when she says "You are absolutely hopeless." resonate with me. He's too hopeless to change from his ways. I regret to say it but some parts deep down also related to the outro. "Without me, you'd be a lump of broken shards." It's what I want to believe. What I wish to say to make him stay. I'm all he has. But..that's wrong. Saying that is wrong and purely the idea of it is wrong. He never needed me. I was just something for him to have and make him feel better. Please him. An object. I never mattered. Our relationship was bad. I just hope to come to terms with these angry emotions in my heart and put them to rest.
This is super late, but I went through a *VERY* similar thing with my last relationship, including relating to this song. Even the bad things, even if I knew it was wrong, because I was hurting. I'm glad to say I'm with someone else and happier now at least. As someone who empathizes, I hope you're doing okay.

Around the time I discovered this song I was in a really bad place and was not getting along with my boyfriend at all. I felt like I could vent out all of my emotions about him through this song. Now we're broken up, but I don't feel so aggressive about our disagreements anymore. We still have some things to figure out, however.

i remember i first heard this song, and I thought it was good, but i could never relate. It was 2016 and as much as I loved the song, I couldn't fully comprehend what it would be like to be in this situation. And now, after about 5 years, I have experienced this exact situation. I'm free from it now, but listening to this song again after forgetting about it for so long makes it hit so much harder. Knowing exactly how it feels to be with an abuser like this really changes the feeling of this song.

It's pretty obvious what's going on, but I feel the need to ramble about it anyway:
The abuser didn't, doesn't and will never love the victim. What makes the abuser stay in this relationship anyway is that she enjoys having power over the victim. She makes the victim feel dependent on her by making the victim think that they're nothing without her. Then, when the victim naturally be emotionally dependent on her and wants to be loved back, the abuser rejects the victim and further destroys the victim's self-esteem.
The victim seems to have realized their situation and is trying to change it ("Saying that you're changing, One more lie"), but the abuser gaslights the victim into thinking they are lying to themselves and that their situation will never change for the better. In this song, the abuser is trying to shut down the victim's protests once and for all by tearing down their self-esteem as much as possible by saying that their relationship is all a lie and making the victim feel guilty for "forcing" the abuser to be in the relationship.
This is one of my top favorite cyber diva songs. The words are jarringly similar to some of the abusive relationships I have seen, I almost couldn't keep listening. But I am so moved by the amazing tuning, and design, and it's blunt words are so good, I love it immensely! AMAZING WORK CREEP-P!
