Nice! Good job pulling the old school one up for the review. The Venza gives people a lot for the money, but nothing is cheap these days. Great review!

Yeah. Had to locate and dust off this "barn find." 😂 Never cared much for the original Venza, but this new one with its hybrid powertrain should be appealing for many. I appreciate you watching, JAX!

Honestly that feels and looks like a Lexus. I love the exterior. I don’t like lack of tactile buttons and knobs though for interior. I guess those are new trends. I agree knobs work better. I think I like this even more than Lexus RX. Great entry and great review. This is a quiet secret on Toyota lots.

Crazy how the lines continue to blur between mainstream and luxury cars, Paul M. Thanks for watching!

When you are traveling in the city, put the spare tire in the garage & you have secret underfloor storage.

Great Review. I like this new Venza. I don't like that the rear turn signals are located in the bumper instead of near the brake lamps.

We felt they were kind of low too, canonlybeme4life. Overall, we like the fresh new styling, though. As always, thanks for watching!

I bought the Limited 2 weeks ago. Comments from an actual owner.
    1. Get close to 45 mpg in all city driving, trying to follow eco driving rules, when possible. Max was 50.1 mpg.
    2. Love the info screen. This car does so much automatically, I don’t touch the screen. Set climate to eco automatic, then forget about it. Steering wheel controls volume. Voice control controls stations. “Get Today Show on Sirius XM.” Works with any source. There are a few buttons below the screen. Defogger, Power button for radio on/off. Obscured button to activate wireless phone charger.
    3. The hatch lifted too high for my 4’9 wife. I went into the steering wheel controls ands changed the hatch height from level 5 to 4. You may say, she can sweep her foot under the bumper to open/close it. I turned that feature off, via the steering wheel. The reason.
The manual warned that a car wash could activate the bumper hatch lift, causing the hatch to open in the car wash? Go figure that one.
Summary. Once you own the car, read the manual, and watch You Tube videos, you realize how great the features are.

One thing deserving special mention. We are elderly. The front doors open wide and it is very easy to enter exit the car. We had a sedan, and my wife was experiencing a lot of pain exiting the sedan. The physical therapist recommended a van or suv. He said sedans are the worst thing for people with sciatica or arthritic. My wife no longer has pain exiting the vehicle. Since then, I have learned pain or discomfort exiting sedans is common in elderly people, or people with health problems.

Thanks for the review. $39k seems on the high side for CUV...but nice features though.

These prices keep creeping up, Bobby Doan. But believe it or not, our mid-range tester (which has many more features than the old Venza) cost slightly LESS than the M.S.R.P. of my in-laws' loaded Venza back in '09. We think it's a decent bang-for-the-buck by comparison, although we don't think we want to know what a loaded new one costs. 😳 Thanks for watching!

You always do a nice review. Apart from the gas mileage, the old venza was a much better car. They still look nice after all these years. They had way more features than most cars even today. I was car shopping recently and was surprised to see some XLE limited ones going for 15k. Theyre in high demand like the 2003 -2005 toyota 4runners. I doubt the new one is going to hold on to its high price tag.

I am little afraid of the hybrid because I heard the battery could cost into the thousands.....I still love the CHR

The batteries can be pricey, Mildred Hayes, but many are warrantied for the life of the original owner. Definitely, something to consider, though. Thanks for watching!

They erased what made the old one unique. Relatively low ride height, wide stance, and larger than average size. But I guess they had to in order to make it more modern.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  3 года назад +2

Yeah, this new one comes off as a different vehicle, Buc_Odie. While the old one was larger, it also drove heavier -- for better or worse. This new one is much more nimble by comparison. And the old one could only dream of fuel economy numbers that this new one gets. It's definitely a change, but one that we think was worth it. We appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!

  • @nubfishin9152

Cars are expensive these days. Lets get that out of the way. The fact that its a hybrid that gets corolla like fuel economy is great. Some hybrid models see only a marginal gain. The price of the car falls in line with others like the Murano and Edge with the latter getting less than 30 mpg. Not a fan of the reduced trunk capacity, but I do like the real spare tire.
