- Before you avoid this video, don't. It's fairly entertaining for a newer truck. What you'll see here is another of Tempe's latest rapid rail purchases featuring the new (slow) arm, and quite the awesome driver behind the wheel. I had a great time filming him on his Tuesday trash route, finishing at about 3pm. A HUGE thank you to him for letting me film, and I hope you enjoy the video!
Very cool video! Lots of body lifts, you don't see that too often! Great job!
Great video! I enjoyed the body lifts and 300s getting collected.
I used to lift the body about three times a load in 2008. New company would fire you for it. The key was to be careful and not greedy about it. Those guys that would back up and slam on the brakes are the ones who ruined it for everyone. I had safe places on my route that I did it at and I was always careful and easy on the equipment.
Excellent video! That packer sure speeds up when the driver revs it lol, I noticed that from the body lifts looking at the hydraulic cylinders. Not sure why the driver doesn't rev with a full 300 gallon can in the hopper, that situation at 12:56 was horrible! Rapid Rails and yard waste don't mix at all. Glad to see another driver in the refuse industry who enjoys their job! Awesome driver out there!
That's a No Go where I work at. They catch you lifting the body that's an automatic termination. I've seen body lift cylinders snap and cause truck to flip over. I’ve also seen tailgate open due to the pressure on the rear door. I've spoken to HIEL reps. About this and they don't recommend that we do this. It sucks cause now we only put about 8 to 9 tons in each truck. When we use to put about 15 tons.
You pretty much have to with Rapid Rails sometimes.
The guy who ever thought of this paddle pack system was full of shit .
Hey driver when you hoist the body up you supposed to shake the load by going backwards in hit brakes not forward.
That sucks no Right hand drive
