Does This Dirt Bike Trend Actually Help? - Couples Static Challenge!

- If you are on social media and ride a dirt bike I am sure you have seen the flocks of riders (females in particular) standing up on their non-running bikes seeing how long they can last.. Que the "Static Balance Challenge"
The idea is; while static balancing you are engaging the same muscles you would be while riding technical trails, especially in the hard enduro discipline. Practicing static should translate into better balance when actually moving and while navigating challenging obstacles, in theory.
As with most trends I am a bit of a hater and would rather just go out and ride but for those that live in HOA's this might be a good option if you have to drive to ride!

Guys check out Rich Larson ( the IRC Tire guy) has heaps of drills and one is his static balance drill.
As Lexis said it helps in trail and hard enduro tight single trail riding.
Still say you need to marry her!
Wait there not married yet man I wish I could scoop her up she’s like every man’s dream girl I’d give anything for a girl as amazing and beautiful as her
Static balance was the only way I was able to improve my riding during the winter. Love it!
Imagine referring to a skill as a trend xD
I remember back as a kid doing this on a BMX bike for long periods.
Having good balance for someone short riding a tall bike is key. Ask me how I know this. Great video!
Lou
I'm so proud of both of you, but especially Alexis as I feel that's part of what holds her back, not feeling comfortable at slow speeds and losing her balance because she relies too much on putting her feet down. Keep it up and you'll be kickin' butt in no time!
jokes aside thats pretty impressive, particularly for a taller guy! Ive tried this a few times and I totally suck at it. 😔
I found that the trick to doing a static stand with the wheel straight is to start with the wheel turned first to get your balance and then slowly inch it around straight.
How cool was watching your channel bout the crf250f because I'm a short rider 5'5 29" inseam thinking bout getting one fyi love yalls channel
Would be a great fit! Alexis is 5'0" and you can see how well she does managing the bike in this video.
Oh,fyi,I believe you got the coolest crf250f on RUclips
@@AdventureDaily I know been watching since your kx100 back in the day and I got one then I tor my acl from the bone at Loretta Lynn's I switched to sport quads a 04 400ex that's what I started my channel with but it is beating me up it's fun but I miss single track so much thanks commenting back yall
Great video and funny too, especially which way you cock the wheel...
Thanks Dad!
Let’s see a slow race! Jake and I should do this together like this LOL
no benefit? I guess Rich Larson and Graham Jarvis don't know what they are talking about.
Them guys are C-class riders at best
If you take a Megg's Brapp class they do that
Deisel trying to figure out what you are doing.
You guys should go to haspin acres in Indiana
Trend? For the last 30 years or longer….
Yes it’s trending right now on social media, I’m well aware this has been a thing.
@@AdventureDaily you don't need to do meaningful content. 100% of your viewers only watch because Alexis is hot. Otherwise, your content has always sucked. Do some bikini ride videos and shit like that......
Girl needs to get a trials bike, then he will need one too
I just end up hurting my knees/ankles doing this challenge as I keep stomping down to catch myself. I can static balance on a bicycle forever but not on a moto!
Tortilla challenge next!

This actually looks really fun to do together. I’m gonna try to get my GF in the yard with me this week and have a face off like this. We did a little slow practice over the weekend it’s so much harder than it looks.
Defiantly a benefit. If your stuck in a hole or close to an obstacle you can balance with your feet on the pegs and then collect motentom with the clutch and compresse the suspension and release the clutch to gain momentum quickly to get unstuck or over that obstacle. Watch some of the hard enduro guys. I did notice you kind of dug a hole with the front wheel turn it it... that helps with balance static. Something I need to practice.
excellent volks. I will be doing the exercise right away Thanks
The secret is to do it with the wheel turned, and small adjustments to the front wheel make the bike stand up or lay further over towards the direction the bike is leaned. Much easier to make micro adjustments with the bars than it is leaning the whole bike with your legs. This is how all the trials pros do it unless they are on something skinny and how I was taught when I started trials.
Try it with the front wheel down hill slightly as it makes it even more sensitive and it will all make sense.
Now try it with no hands
Ballance is the only thing that's gonna help you with going through any rock roots and just anything jaring.
I don't know why, but that was entertaining! Especially the code that the end!
I feel like a really applicable drill would be to upset the suspension and then stick a static hold. Then repeat.
Alexis killed it. You can really move the bike to help, she needed full balance but once locked.
I'm 40 years older and started riding dirty bikes 3 1/2 years ago, but I don't have much spare time to practice because I work a lot, I'm a much better rider now but I feel like I should be much better by now, but I'm not, obviously my problem is that I don't practice at all, only when I ride on weekends. 3 weeks ago I started practicing the static balance and I already feel the difference, I feel much more comfortable going downhills which has been one of my weakest points, I'm also much better on rocky terrain and on corners, I'm a bit faster now and I'm definitely enjoying riding much more, in conclusion, the static balance drills helps a ton, I'm gonna keep practicing all the time now, great video guys, I love your channel.
👍🏾
👊🏻
Tanners front tire is definitely in a small rut which helped him a ton

Lexus did amazing!!!
That is so impressive Lexi
I see Trials riders balance with the front wheel straight.....Incredible balance they have.
See I’ve questioned this ever sense Hard Enduro posted the video last year of the pro enduro guys doing this and the longest was like 18 seconds. Spending the same about of time throwing a kettle bell around would be more beneficial😅
Edited to add a video now that I seen you almost made it 15 minutes😂
ruclips.net/video/VCcar3MA07w/видео.htmlsi=IvuGdQiGUwhlZp8y
Now go cry😅
Tell that to Graham Jarvis.
@@audiogarden21 he was in the video so no need to tell him😅
@@TheKernables What video? Because I can assure you that Jarvis can static balance longer than 18 seconds.
@@audiogarden21 it was on IG one of the big enduro pages posted it. The had a red rectangle marked out on the road and a bunch of riders rolled into to static and the longest one was 18 seconds.
@@TheKernables That doesn't mean anything other than 'those' riders didn't practice their due diligence.
Everything is a help. Consistency is the key.
I have a Force Cam 310 Rally kit on my F and love it. Horsetorque!
