I have a better appreciation and understanding how this is done, and realize that using anything to try to fix my $39.99 Daiwa rod from Academy Sports isn't worth it. Thanks! 😁
I replaced a few guides on my rod by hand before I saw this and even though I just did it quick and dirty I really appreciate how nice yours look! I hope to make my next repair look 1/10th as good as those!
Great training video! Thanks, needing to repair my antique 52 year old rod for my grandson. Also you mentions air bubble surfacing on the finish. I believe that is the epoxy gassing off in curing. The only thing I am curious what other epoxy’s you have tried?
I haven’t done a production rod as everything I kept ordering wasn’t up to spec and then Covid….. but I do make custom rods now. Just about every rod i fish is a custom. If you want me to make you one hit DM me on instagram and we can brainstorm!

Great video ! I would not complain at all if I had your equipment to repair the rod. You look like you know what your doing.
Thanks, I have a broken tip, and you just helped me save my rod, I'm quite sure.
Great job, I learned a lot. Many thanks 🙏

Very helpful. Never used heat in the epoxy process
What type of power wrapper are you using.
Have you ever used a low temp solder to resolder your old guid to be reused if you don't have one to replace it with?
I’ve seen it done and guys use like jb weld but idk I’d rather just redo
No fking way! You back!
Hide yo kids! I’m brewing up vids 🥸

What type of machine is that you used to thread that guide on?
Really cool thank you
Super handy video. How would you recommend someone get into building their own rods?
Great video. What kind of epoxy do you recommend?
what type thread is used?
This actually looks great is possible for to the tools you're using ship to me
Should mention the underwrap can be epoxied alone and less air exiting.
@@danfall1003 yea just never liked that method. I very rarely use it.
What is the best epoxy for the guides?
I use flexcoat
