Phil Dolman-- You make lots of Ukulele people happy. With your ease of Teaching "With Results"
Spending some time learning the circle of fifths IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS YOU’LL EVER DO AS A MUSICIAN!!!
You are a great teacher! I find your sequences and explanations fill in so many of my missing pieces and brain lapses. Thanks Phil.
Thanks again for another great video. I feel there are plenty of videos out there teaching me how to play the ukulele. But your videos feel like you’re teaching me how to be a musician.
Best explanation on how to determine the chords I have seen in 30 years.
Until I turned 65 I joked that I was born with 2 left ears. Then I bought a piano, then my daughter loaned me her ukulele.
Then I stumbled across this bloke Phil Doleman, and life has been good.
Merci beaucoup.
this was so incredibly helpful Phil! Have been playing these combinations but now know what I am actually doing!! Helping my uke playing no end ....
Thanks so much, Phil. Your explanation is the clearest and easiest to understand that I have heard to date. Much appreciated.
BOOM! Ima become a patreon here. You present very well, which for me held my attention and you make it a breeze to comprehend. Thanks for sharing your knowledge💥
You really are a wonderful teacher, Phil! Thanks.
brilliant Phil thank you
You’re awesome Phil!
Years ago, when I was an ukulele novice, I gathered my courage and played an excerpt of a well-known song in front of the group at the Burning Uke festival in the hills above Santa Cruz, California. After that "open mic" session was over, one of the very experienced, semi-professional players came up to me and complimented my playing and said it was interesting that I ended on the 4 chord. I didn't realize what that meant, but after several years of learning, I could recognize the I IV V progression and others by ear. Thank you Phil for being part of my learning curve.
You are an amazing teacher Phil. I've not long since discovered you but i'm hooked! Everything makes sense to me with your easy to understand tutorials. I will be checking out everything you have done. Thanks so much!

@@PhilDoleman Someday Phil I am sure, something to look forward to.
"... you check out guitar George, he knows all the chords..." 😅
."..he doesn't want to make cry or sing...*
Don't forget Harry, cuz "Harry doesn't mind if he don't make the scene..."
This is really great
Thanks :-)
@@PhilDolemanI love your easy to understand tips
Hi Phil, I’m trying to practice strumming and watched your video on this, however, I noticed that you’re sometimes using your thumb in this (3 chord trick) video, do you recommend one or the other?
Hi Colin,
I switch between the two, really just to get a different sound. The index finger is good for a bright attack and lots of volume, and the thumb for a warmer, softer sound. It's good to be able to do both. The basic motion of the hand is pretty much the same though.
Thanks!
Thank you!
My fingers won't play a D and E chord or any chord where you need 3 fingers in a row.
Try your D or E with a barre. You'll find the E chord in the video at 1:35 in, and the D is just 2 frets lower.

Hummm ..Sounds like the Nashville Number System , without using the word Nashville
Some of the video is exactly that, yes!
