- IMHO Bad Design
When i first learn about this printer, all i can think of is this printer has bad design.
Because of the single rail design on medium size printer.
But all my tests prove me wrong.
sorry for the silent part when showing the printed models, youtube flag it as copyright , yet the audio i use is from their free copyright library, so i mute the segment.

My GK two has broke after only 5 months of light use. The single rail is a definite weakness. The motor has either burnt out or the gears have stripped or popped out of their spots. It makes a very loud horrible sound when it tries to move the build plate, and the plate doesn't move. It broke right after I printed a large object about 500ml in size. I think the weight overloaded the motor single rail system. It broke today and I have emailed the company. I guess we'll see what happens.... I was impressed with the printer until today. Now of course I'm not impressed at all....
@@spiritelemental as i expected. The single rail might be the weakness
I love my unit. No issues since i received it except for user error. Had more issues with Epax E10. The GK2 is a printing workhorse. With your test files for leveling, exposure and support settings everything prints fine with auto support. The only failure i had was when i forgot to mix the resin. UVtools now has an option to mix the resin befor printing and with the built-in heater its been flawless.
I got mine on Friday. The hinges have been replaced and it came with the most up to date firmware as well as a newer USB.
Been running mine for a long time now running 5-6 days a week printing Mechs at large scale.
Even printed Denny’s hover bike on it. It’s been an absolute beast and running the temp at 30deg.. only issue I’ve had was a clip on the vat broke through no fault of its own and failed prints have been on me..
Could it be better, yes… but that goes for every printer..
there support has been fantastic and I do look forward to see what the GKThree will version like..
Dennys is the only honest reviewer so far 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I own one and I love it. I am serious looking into the GKthree but not a fan of their new resin loading system.
2:40 I think the idea is similar to a regular air purifier where it takes in dirty air, strips the air of bad particulates, and spits the clean air back into circulation (though idk how well it works in practice)
I am talking about the fresh rising fumes from the resin that is blown towarda me 😆.
That is kinda annoying, because i can feel the fumes on my face skin.
@wangdennys oooh I got it mixed up I see. So you're fine with how purification works, they literally just need to point the fan upwards or downwards so it doesn't carry some of the bad air into your face
@ThatsPety yes!
Mine came well levelled from the factory and has been producing great looking parts. The single linear rail was a surprise at first, especially coming from an Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra but it has worked so far. The plastic at the top was a big confusion point aswell
I've been trying to decide between the S3U and GKtwo, since you have both, what would you recommend?
@@peter_isthewolf Both printers are really good and will provide good prints. I like the GKTwo a little better because the process is more hassle free and the built is a little better
Looking forward to this video. I prefer independent opinions like yours or Vogs. Would be interested in your opinion on the new Elegoo printer with tilt.
No luck with elegoo 🙃
13:06 I like this real talk style
I really hope Uniformation will improve these things. I love my two units. Just simple workhorses with no issues what so ever
There is actual problem with z wobble, on some resins, specifically elastic or vicsicus ones. Even when using 30mm/m print speed, and longish wait after/before print times (3 and 6s respectively), your z-wobble stress test had some ugly marks on Sunlu Tougness and Siraya Blu. Tested both 30 and 35 degrees, and even after overexposing.
However, their test file printed well (hollowed, tall rectagunlar shape with thickish walls and pressure holes), and after switching to Sunlu ABS, z-wobble stress test file also printed well. I guess this is only stiff material printer.
My other printer, Mars 4 DLP, does not have those problems.
Apart form wobbly Z axis, I also suspect that resin vat might be at fault here, it is slighty woblyl in the front right corner, even after chaning vat clips, which secure the vat to the screen. I wish there were optional lugs to secure it in place. like in other printers.
I've actually had fair better results on Saturn 2, which now is 3rd if not less of a price of gk2, yet gk2 is not 3 times better. Yes, it has some superb UX improvements, but many tradeoffs at the same time.
Also, there is no sensible way to let the build plate drip.
I'd strongly advise anyone considering gk2, to think and read a little bit more and investigate issues people not bought by uniformation are having.
Dont get me wrong, its very decent printer, maybe they will make it perfect in 3rd iteration, but right now, it would be most prudent to wait and see how competion reacts to Saturn 4, and its likely upgrade we will get in half a year.
interesting
i will try some rather flexible resin
thank you for the info
@@wangdennys hi Any updates on this ?
@@theo._.5593 bro it is only a day ago, not even enough time to digest it yet.
Finally a youtuber that comment that this printer only have one linear rail.
This printer have the same light source and LCD of a Saturn 8k.
To me this printer its overpriced, The heat system and the two different things this printer have don't justify the price.
The most honest printer reviewer
I was honestly put off by the single rail design. Instead I ended up settling on the Saturn 4 ultra
Great points, ive had my gktwo a few months now and it is a love/hate relationship so far. When it works, it works great but i had my z axis just freeze without reason a couple of weeks ago, luckily the groups got me in contact with tech who showed me how to remove the z axis which only comes out with tge entire metal enclosure around it and the motor( which i think stops wobble) its a pain to remove to say the least, you basically have to dismantle the entire printer. But they did send me a replacement instantly. I found the cause to be the anti backlash nut being made of plastic and worn down. There are some great improvement ideas for the gkthree from tilting vat, to heating the chamber rather than under the vat, to having a built in top up bottle. I think this should be standard for all mid to large range printers so the vats dont run out ruining a print. Having an app to monitor the progress is a necessity too
yeha I don't get why they have just 1 linear rail, why they through the LCD!!! and why they use a matrix light engine on a 'premium' printer, speaking of which could you try to measure the angle of light in reviews aswell as uniformity? I wish every build plate was like that though.
Angle of light?
@@wangdennys the collumnation angle, minimum average and maximum, how parallel the light is. You know like how dlp are super sharp because the light has a lower angle, that.
Bc it's cheap. Most of the design decisions are cheap on this printer, 50µm on a midsize printer is cheap, single linear rail is cheap, plastic vat is cheap, matrix light engine is cheap, I'm surprised they succeeded to sell it a premium price.
Dear Dennys, could i suggest a specific support question. Helmets, they often need to be placed semi-standing, a little angled looking up. Now, the inner "roof" of the helmets is often MASSIVLY supported when using automatic supports in chitubox etc. Is this really needed? Would love to see a video on it. Many thanks for your excellent videos. Ed
Good idea.
@@wangdennys i took a chance and managed to print it (SW helmet, one piece) with a lot fewer supports than suggested inside towards the dome, but it was just guess work, plain luck. I know you would add substantial knowledge on what and why to do. :)
Just release the video now? Why premiere it?
Yt algorithm. Right now, premiered videos and videos where you change the title and thumbnail some time after the videos release are heavily promoted by the algorithm.
@@HighBeanz Ah, that explains it. I usually just unsubscribe as it clutters up my sub box.
@@HighBeanz And also, setting the video to premiere means you can let it process to HD without having to delay the video.

Hi can u please have updated support settings for chtubox v2.1? thank you
Hi guys. While printing, an error message pops up that says 'print error' and the printing is being interrupted. Any ideas? The strange thing is that up to the printed layer, everything looks great and then it just stops printing with this message. I have tried cleaning up everything, using new resin (or even no resin at all with the same file) and leveling again, but still the problem remains. Any ideas?
@@alexioshamilton8284 slice eror?
What would be your top three printers to buy at the moment?
I've been considering the gktwo for a while but I think I'll wait to see what the next version brings.
Is it my imagination or when I look at you leveling it in the video, it looks like you are inserting the wrong end of the paper with the folded edge not getting inserted under the build plate.
@@alolkoydesigns
I am just showing my plate is not level.
Some corner pinch the paper hard and it is not even folded yet.
And some corner very loose.
Your supports
On these models
Look super sturdy. What size are they?
You can check my videos about suppirt or my live support rerun video.

@@wangdennys Thanks! I have, for some reason yours look beefier. I'll double check.
Hello , I like you print the steering wheel. Where can i get the file.
$850.00? I'll buy a Saturn 3 and have a few bucks for other things.
Formlab y Prusa también tienen un solo riel
Sorry i dont understand what you saying.
Are you testing the Saturn 4 Ultra?
Unfortunately no luck
Elegoo seems dont like me 🤣
@@wangdennys I will tell you, whether I like it, when I receive my pre ordered s4U, looking forward to the tilt
The problem with this printer is that there are better, easier to use printers for much cheaper and with vastly better shipping and availability.
I am somewhat agree with you
LOL
Which one would you recommend ?
test print nya pakai resin apa ya, koh?
What is the best consumer printer in your opinion? I thought to give a chance to GK Two. Currently I am using Sonic Mini 8K and I wonder if this gonna be an upgrade or not really?
I am looking rather for a smaller scale printer because if any error appear the loss of the resin and cleaning process doesn't affect the production that much. I prefer to have a couple smaller printers than one big boy. Yet, still, is it a way to go in your opinion? :)
His new Sonic Mighty Revo review is right up your alley 👍
@@bakedbeings thanks! I will take a look on that :)
Good review, but I think the title should be "IMHO bad design" IMHO: In My Humble Opinion. "IMFO" implies something a bit ruder than you probably intend :)
Hahahah i meant In My First Opinion.
I dont mean any rude
And i forgot it could meant the other F word. LOL
Okay gonna change the thumbnail
I already got one. So I don't want to watch, and get buyers remorse 🤣
I don't like your miniature thumbnail with respect to the true content of the video.
can you make a better thumbnail?
i'll be glad to use it.
@@wangdennys Sure. It's $80. Just kidding. Maybe just add a question mark?
@fluxcapacitor i add ? Mark before
And someone also complaint
So i remove it.

No idea why there was so much hype about this printer and all the so called INNOVATIONS it has. The bar must be low for innovations in the resin printing space. To me the printer looks very cheaply built with the only INNOVATION being a resin heater which should have been standard on all printers years ago.
it works very well for a single rail on medium printer.
and the quick release is good.
other than that, works the same for me with other printer
