One of my favorites films ever. I love Allen ' s character obsesive search of a "suitable" religion , funny and very profound. There are many examples of Allen s movies being inspired by the greatest russian writers such The last night of Boris... or Sins and Misdemeanours but honestly I had not noticed the resemblance to Anna Karenina. Interesting.
This is the second video i've watched of yours. I have to say you don't go into enough detail and I feel you should elaborate further regarding the list of things you mentioned.
I never get tired of watching this film! I was 22 when I saw it for the first time in the movie theater. Born and raised in Brooklyn and I ❤NY!
Woody's best film and one of my five all-time favorites. Only surprise here is that Jack was considered for Elliot.
Brilliant movie! The family dynamic is real life for sure 😂
The casting, the music, absolute perfection!
This NYC doesn’t exist anymore sadly. Rare for a happy ending in a WA film.
unforgettable film
Masterpiece.
I love the old Soho look back then. It’s so different now.
Of course Allen cast Avon Sydow. How Bergman of him.
Brilliant film.
How am I just now finding this channel?
Cinematic brilliance!

Also this film in many ways is a nod to Ingmar Bergman’s “Fanny and Alexander”
Fantastic video!!! I love watching videos from this channel as I go through Allen's filmography :) keep up the great work!
+eNewWave thanks! We have fun making them.

3:32 - he said page 112 (3:08), not 102, so you're both wrong.
He says the poem is on page 112, not 102.
"Hannah And Her Sisters" is a flawless, and beautiful film. Michael Caine is great in it, but it would be so fun to see Jack play the Elliot role.
The character somehow makes more sense to me with Jack Nicholson in mind
I love Hercy Barbara, She is “Charming Girl (Lady?) (^.^)
'Duck Soup' the Marx Bros. best? Not likely.
I wish Jack Nicholson would have made the film in stead of that opportunistic hypocrite loser Caine. Pity! #WeLoveWoodyAllen
Caine is fine in it
I heard Jack turned it down.
@@mizofan He won the Oscar for Best Supporting actor.
God, this film sucked. The beginning of the end for Woody. Ugh.
