Excellent review Kevin of a radio who's design I've always liked. It's popular and seems to have all the makings of a real radio. I do miss your Vertex Standard VX-1700 videos. Give it some love again sometime. All the best
Kevin can you do a video of the radio using the internal filters.....There was an issue with these when the filters were engaged. If you transmit with the filters on it would cut the audio as it came back to receive ,very annoying, i wonder if they have cured it now, do use the filters they make the radio sound great to listen to. Also we tested one against a IC 7300 and the CB had better receive low down than the 7300...Whats that all about. If you can do another video that would be great....thanks
Hi I’ve just bought one of these but where yours is backlit blue mines not backlit at all where they all backlit I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with mine!
Never understood why hams use odd ball frequencys, all over the place, just stick to 0 or 5kc lol on 10m band be lot easier lol , probably a history thing. Not bad sets V7 ,think they also have ctcss for fm mode ,very handy 👍 Rob.P 73's
Before digital readouts it would have been virtually inpossible to be an an exact frequency to the nearest Khz. There is no reason why Ham Radio transmissions need to be on a frequency ending 0 or 5. It does however cause an issue when we try to use CB equipment on the amateur radio frequencies.

Maybe you have an earlier model? As far as I know current ones are backlit.
I wonder how that rig would work with a Astatic D104 M6B microphone.
I am sure it would work well but the stock mic gets good reports
It works great with an astatic 636 slso
when open cb band is ready to 10 meters also??
