As a life long Honda and Kawasaki tech, I've seen many engines destroyed by well meaning people. This strainer system is used in many types of motorcycle and ATV engines. It's a MUST to clean out the cavity before reinstalling the screen. Several times I've had units come in with grenaded engines, because someone pulled the strainer and put it back in without checking the cavity. The screen had done it's job. but now it has been bypassed and debris in the cavity is shoved into the oil pump. Also, a cheap torque wrench is a very good investment. You don't have to buy the best. I've had to deal with far too many stripped drain plugs.
Thanks for sharing this video. Changing oil for first time on my Brute Force.

Great points! Thanks for sharing!
What "cavity" are you talking about? The one on top of the oil screen? Or inside the engine? Thanks.
How do you change the clock format from 24 hr to 12 hr ?
I would love to know what is meant by the cavity. Thank you very much!
Thank you I flooded my four wheeler and all it needed was a oil change
Thank you. I was not aware of the second drain plug only the one with the filter and I was not sure on which way the filter went thank you again.
Glad it helped!!!
