  • These errors lost the game, walk offs only, also not including the 2 little league home runs that I included last vid.

      There were a lot of controversial views on that one., However, you'll have to look that up for yourself. I comment on this because Buckner was traded from The Cubs for pitcher Eckesley. That was as bad as Frazee getting rid of The Babe. Sure Dennis ended his career in Boston, however, had he stayed here, he'd outshined Rocket Roger.

    • @67L48
      @67L48 6 лет назад +12

      Agreed. There were a few down the 3B line that may have been base hits. Sure, a great play gets the out, but that's not the test against which to judge an error. Ordinary effort.

      @@67L48 A bad throw which allows a runner to advance or score is most definitely an error.

    • @67L48

      terminat1 Not necessarily. If a SS makes a diving stop and throws from his butt and the throw pulls 1B off the bag and the runner is safe ... not an error. Again, ordinary effort is very important to how a play is scored ... not just whether or not the throw was on target.

    • @sokonek1
      @sokonek1 3 года назад

      Errors are a judgement call from the official scorer, basically if it would have been an easy play and it touches the player it is an error, if not it goes down as a hit.
      Also the double play is not an error because you never give an error on the potential second out of a double play

    5:54 It should be noted that Eduardo Rodriguez had a no-hitter entering the inning. Not that it mattered. Even if he had gotten through the 9th with it in tact, it would have gone to the 10th, snd it would have been a combined no-hitter at best.
    Also, the A's just dodged a no hitter yesterday, so what a coincidence!

    I shake my head in disappointment every time I see the Luis Castillo dropped ball. This is what I show my friends when I tell them what it’s like to be a Mets fan

    On the Bourjos play at 5:00, was he really safe though? From the angle it lookls like his foot might've not touched the plate and went over it

    • @ry.the.stunner
      @ry.the.stunner 5 лет назад

      Yeah, but he clearly went back and touched it with his hand at 4:55, so he was safe either way.

      If he truly did miss the plate, he would not be out unless the defense appeals.

    Buckner sees the title and clicks on the link. Before watching he says to himself, "Please oh please oh please don't be in here."

      Buckner missed the link, and instead watched a video with puppies and kittens. All was well.

    3:02 Sad part is if Hanley makes the throw, the Sox probably get the DP and the W. Hanley also committed the error that ruined Kershaw's perfect game

    The 2001 Yankees vs dbacks, Rivera throwing to outfield on the play at second was practically a game ending error

      Ik how you feel I used to do the same type of videos as you and have been at this channel since 200 subs and the video, "highest scoring games in nfl history" when it erupted. I guess i got discouraged my time and effort wasn't paying off but now I'm happy with what I'm earning

      And if you want monetization i would reccomend nba videos because they rarely get claimed

    Haven't seen the video, but Luis Castillo's error against
    the Yanks should be here.

      It is. I'm not a Yankess fan, but I absolutely love the hustle of Teixeira on that play. That single play should be shown to all kids to show them that hustle can win games, even when they seemed lost.

    What I'm wondering is was the obstruction call in 2013 not an error?

    • @JayTemple
      @JayTemple 5 лет назад

      I think it's scored that way, but it's not as entertaining as what we usually picture.

    The presence of Francisco Rodriguez in several of these occurrences doesn't surprise me.

    Is it me, or were a lot of the infield ones also examples of players not doing a good job of backing up the play? I mean, I get it on line drives, but on slow grounders... one pitcher was standing in front of home plate instead of behind it on a throw on a slow grounder to third... I mean, maybe he doesn't get to perfect backup position, but maybe he's close enough to field it before the second run gets in.
    That would be a interesting metric... figure out where players should be for back up throws and see how close they are to those spots play after play, whether they end up being needed or not.
