We got one about 8 months ago for my son to take to work 12 miles away the issues we encountered were, had to replace the clutch with a aftermarket clutch (note: keep your clutch lubricated), The left side crank arm wobbled loose and needed re tapped (tap was 8m x 100 (odd size so had to order tab online and new bolts), we replaced that arm but it still needs to be checked about once a week (use lock tight), we replaced the jack shaft bearings with higher quality bearings( the org ones rusted in the rainy weather and wore out). we did add puncture resistant tire liners as we found were he has to ride on the side of the road has a lot of small debris and junk that will flatten your tire, (make sure you check each and every bolt out of the box and tighten them we had many loose ones, and out of the box it will only get up to between 15-20 miles per hour unmodified.. Now the Good this thing starts every time weather its below freezing, raining or over 95 degrees it always starts up. with the fat stock tires when you take a hard turn on a soft surface you are way less likely to wipe out, the over all ride is pretty smooth out of the box, the price we bought it at Walmart through kings was great for the product and kings shipped it right away, we paid $999.99. It runs vary quite with the stock muffler good to not catch attention or wake the neighbors, the stock muffle has a nice heat shield and wont burn you unless to try to get burnt. and the build over all all is sturdy with good welds. Over all we would buy it again and knowing what we do, we would buy the aftermarket clutch and things I mentioned above with it to be installed before ridding it. Those mods would cost us around $200.00 more but make the bike great. on that note he did ride it for about the first 60 days before we had to do anything.
@@MotoredLife I have a stock phat moto bike with Governor bypassed and the stock 50 tooth rear sprocket. I'm thinking about getting a custom one made from sprockets specialties and going with a 70 - 82 rear sprocket for all bottom end cruising and pulling power. Have you jumped up 20 or 30 teeth on the rear sprocket or rode a bike with this much rear sprocket? I know it should be a pretty big gain and if this doesn't suit me. I guess I'll go with a 212 CC and a stage 2, 3 or 4 kit. I just hope with a 212cc I can still pedal the bike without things hitting my legs. I do a lot of peddling with engine off and take on a lot of hills and would like to go off-road with more bottom end engine and pedaling power. I found this out while lubing the clutch. If you use assembly grease the take off is horrible, if you use transmission oil it takes off smoothly. This is because the oil gets slung onto the area where the pads touch the bell.
One of the only bikes on the market where the fix for the clutch is to lube the shoes. I know it works I’ve done it on my Phatmoto. Let’s just hope oiling the brake pads and rotor isn’t the fix for the squealing brake, haha..
@@barnfresh3787 I have had mine for 2 years now. I can no longer find the cluch for the 19, so going to get the 2020 jackshaft eventually plus the teeth on my jackshaft they're starting to do the shark teeth thing pretty badly. Having said that at first I despised the clutch , actually have two of them. But after working with the clutch a little I actually love it now. Currently around 3,000 miles on my phatmoto. No clutch issues any more. The only thing I do is this, once in a while i take it apart clean it up with brake cleaner, lube it up with three in one oil. I took the bushing off the back of the clutch that's a big part of the problem now instead I use 2 5/8 inch washers and put it on the front of a clutch instead. And before every ride I drop a couple drops at 3 in 1 oil on the back of the clutch where it meets the engine shaft. No issues with a clutch ever anymore.

What kind of frame would you need to handle that kind of power? Is a jackshaft suggestible for a 212cc if that would help keep the motor at low rpm at those speeds? I’m looking to take a lot of ideas from different people and put it together.
I think for $1000 you could do better. A 212 faker build would cost right around there and you could be sure that quality parts are going on. Honestly, I think the 49cc Huasheng's are every bit as good as the 79cc Lifan. Not as much torque, but similar top speed and a smaller/lighter package. I also think they're better suited for a bike because of their high redline.
I’m gonna be completely honest. To me that would be a luxury because it’s nice to not have to deal with the headaches of actually making one of these bikes. It would be pretty awesome just to get it and start riding immediately. However on the other hand for the same price I was able to build mine and I have a 2 stroke 66cc engine thats ported and carb tuned with a performance exhaust which absolutely decimates this phatmoto bike in terms of speed. And that costed me around $500 With the remaining $500 I put on a battery in there a horn, turn signals, speakers, headlight and taillights with side view mirrors so it’s a close as possible to a real motorcycle and as street legal as I could make it. I don’t really see it as worth it TO ME on account of the fact that I can make a better product for the same price. Now for all your young folk out there that got the money and don’t or cant deal with the mess of preparing one of these machines, then I would say it would marginally be worth it.
I went with a nine tooth Max torque eBay clutch for a 415 stock fatmoto chain. But I was looking for more bottom end power that's why I went one tooth less from factory. I'm pretty sure it was a 9 tooth Max torque clutch. But definitely one tooth less than the factory and it definitely helped the bottom end pulling power. I didn't really notice the top change but I'm sure it did if I put a GPS mph speedo on it.
Phatmoto should come out with a slimmer motor configuration to keep it streamline and an optional belt drive to quiet it down, it will also eliminate vibration
With my years of experience working on engines, solid motor mounts like on the fat moto bike I have wiggle bolts loose. I run solid motor mounts on my street and strip car it makes for quicker launches, no motor mounts to come loose or break, the car shakes and you can feel the power and vibrations in it but it's a 710 horsepower dynoed motor with a radical race idle. But for me I don't experience the vibration on my little 3 horse power fat Moto and I ride a lot. I would just like to have a less bumpy ride with a shock absorber on my bike for more of a spring-loaded soft seat.
I've had a motorscooter for a few years now. I did research motozed bikes as well and now looking again and wondering of a motored bike is what I should have gotten imstead.
I have a 49cc OHV in a similar frame that i built up from scratch, incl the wheels. Having built close to 20 over the last six and half years, i am always intrigued when i read in the comments from many Motorised forums, is. How fast does it go. I am also asked the same question when i venture out on either the 66cc or the 39cc to the Shops. My answer is , it is is not about speed, but , getting there and back. As long as it handles the hills and can cruise on the flats, i'm ok. Also it is a lot more fun and an attention seeker parked or mobile. I would not mind the options that you have State side for all the variants of motors, frames and wheels available for Motorised Bikes. The Exchange rate and Import Duties would not make it possible for me. Greetings from South Africa.
I have a mostly stock fat Moto with Governor bypassed it has the 50 tooth rear sprocket. I'm thinking about going 70 or 72 rear sprocket have you ever changed to a bigger rear sprocket? I know it should be a whole lot more bottom end and that's what I want all bottom end pulling power. The sprocket they custom make they can literally make any tooth sprocket they said. I've thought about an 80 or no more than 82 tooth Max rear sprocket.
I’m 3 months late but How much assembly is required? What all need to be assembled? I thought the bike came already pre built and ready to go just have to break it in?
I’ve been wondering if a person could take that jack shaft out That the bike comes with and put a longer shaft in to run it over to the other side what do you think?
Yes you could flip it but the sprockets are special splined (proprietary) so you would be limited to both on the same side. If you replaced the bearings with 5/8” ID you could use a straight keyed shaft and put sprockets wherever you like
@@barnfresh3787 have you went this route before? I guess it would be a cheaper route if you could get standard 40 or 41 common gears and sprockets. I'm pretty sure I'm going to order a custom made sprocket specialties 70 - 82 tooth rear sprocket for all bottom end power. The sprocket is about $95 custom made not too bad. I'm going to try this rear sprocket first before I possibly go to a 212cc predator engine with the stage two, three or four kit. This bike would be better with an actual jack shaft and a rear fat tire mountain bike tire and rim with a geared rear cassette with a rear derailleur so as to change gears for more speed and better hil climbing abilities. Plus if you were to add springer forks and shocks on the front also a spring and gell seat for more comfort on riding would help.

Hey man, I know this is an old video, but I trust your opinion and I'm thinking about getting a new phatmoto All Terrain, how upgradable is that motor?
I do like those frames, but think I'd stick with the 2 strokes for it were I to get one...just less to have to deal with than a 4 banger...but that's just me...
I have 2019, with some mods, (gears, exhaust, bars, mags tires, RockShox). Mine does 37MPH on flat ground, and still climbs okay. Although I swap my motor out for the Home Depot Lifan, feels like it has a little more torque then the stock motor but that might just be coincidence.
Personally I have found that after awhile the pad need to be replaced Unfortunately they just wear away. I have seen a manual clutch that looks pretty cool as well as the Hillyard seems to be the option of choice nowadays
I prefer a gas engine. Gas engines can be made cleaner and quieter, but in California, small gas engines are a devil. This is perfect for getting to the bread line, when the power goes out, in my progressive state.
I thought about getting one of these, but with as many motorized-bikes as I already have, I just can't justify it, and I'm out of room, lol, I don't understand how a 79cc can be so slow, because my 49cc bikes do almost 35mph with my big ass on them, I appreciate the info Alex, thanks for sharing.

20?? nice man keep building
what clutch do you suggest replacing with on the bike?
I’m 3 months late but How much assembly is required? What all need to be assembled? I thought the bike came already pre built and ready to go just have to break it in?
I’ve been wondering if a person could take that jack shaft out That the bike comes with and put a longer shaft in to run it over to the other side what do you think?
Yes you could flip it but the sprockets are special splined (proprietary) so you would be limited to both on the same side. If you replaced the bearings with 5/8” ID you could use a straight keyed shaft and put sprockets wherever you like
Yeah why not. If you have the skills you can do it
@@barnfresh3787 have you went this route before? I guess it would be a cheaper route if you could get standard 40 or 41 common gears and sprockets. I'm pretty sure I'm going to order a custom made sprocket specialties 70 - 82 tooth rear sprocket for all bottom end power. The sprocket is about $95 custom made not too bad. I'm going to try this rear sprocket first before I possibly go to a 212cc predator engine with the stage two, three or four kit. No one seemed to have a 70 through 82 tooth rear sprocket with a 415 chain online or at shops.
@@barnfresh3787 I'm not much of a fan on priority parts because it's more of a mess to find and get. I like standard common stuff I guess like we all do.
When gas hits $ 10 a gallon I can see one of these as an alternative to car.
Until they outlaw small gas engines
@@MotoredLife Since I don't own a bike yet I think I will buy a 4 stroke motor tomorrow and look for new bike as well. I'm 59 and 250 lbs can you recommend a comfy bike ?
I finally took my black touch up paint and covered up the cheesy fat Moto white PHATMOTO letters. My preference and opinion but it looks so much better now with no letters!
I weigh 297lbs and 6.2 in height would this motor pull me 10 miles a day
So classic looking from the 1940s.
Thanks to you I got in contact with Charles from kaos kustoms and but that header can’t wait to slap it on!! I will review it ..and give a shout out ...
Hey how else can I get ahold of Kaos Custom?
I'd like to buy 1, how do I do it?
I want 1.
Wonder if a 212 would work off the stock jack shaft set up.
They do I've seen one!! my 212 is on diff style frame she RIPS!!!(=
Hey man, I know this is an old video, but I trust your opinion and I'm thinking about getting a new phatmoto All Terrain, how upgradable is that motor?
Alex you're not supposed to drop the clutch and expected to do release of course is going to share out the bolts haha
I seen a video where someone put a disc break on the other end of that jackshaft on a racing bike
I do like those frames, but think I'd stick with the 2 strokes for it were I to get one...just less to have to deal with than a 4 banger...but that's just me...
A 2 stroke is more to have to deal with 🤯
I have 2019, with some mods, (gears, exhaust, bars, mags tires, RockShox). Mine does 37MPH on flat ground, and still climbs okay. Although I swap my motor out for the Home Depot Lifan, feels like it has a little more torque then the stock motor but that might just be coincidence.
How much $$ have you dumped into so far?
@@michaelbrinks8089 with the new motor a little over 13 but I bought when it first came out, I only played $700
Congrats mate from down under 🥰
Where can I purchase 1 of those bicycles
Gasbike.com
@@MotoredLife I'm trying to find a way to buy 1 of those bicycles.
Camera angles are sick bro.
Nice
Any suggestions on how to fix the clutch the stock clutch.
Please upgrade it and put a jackshaft on this bike one day, its awesome
It has a jack shaft.
Have or any one else done a 212 on these? Is it worth it? Was it difficult? If able to do so, what was the top speed and did you modify the fuel tank?
ive seen people do it and hit 55 mph
I thought about getting one of these, but with as many motorized-bikes as I already have, I just can't justify it, and I'm out of room, lol, I don't understand how a 79cc can be so slow, because my 49cc bikes do almost 35mph with my big ass on them, I appreciate the info Alex, thanks for sharing.
How fat are you ?
I bought the all terrain new and I have complaints and pics if you care to view them. still after 2 months not one ride.
You can email me at MotoredLife@Gmail.com. What is going on?
which thumb throttle did you use? you said you were going to put a link to it I don't seem to see it.
how are these at hill climbing?
Hey Alex have a happy safe New year's see you next year
You to Willard! You and the fam be safe. Video coming out on Sunday!

What is the seat height?
Link to the pressure plate clutch, please
Hey Alex what is the top speed on that new bike of yours
What size is the frame
Brother that's really cool I like that
The bike looks great like the style
I had mine for 6 days n Jackshaft bolt fell out and wasted the bearings I just wanted to know if I just knock old bearings out
Yes the stock ones are junk

You should make a video and see how far you can ghost ride that bike
Hey so im Taylor s 🤪 those 3d kotorsports clutches aren't made anymore sadly I got one of the last runs before they went out of busness
Oh no! Ive been looking everywhere. Do you still have it? Or is it on your awesome bike?
3D is under new ownership and gearing up to start producing manual clutches again real soon
I wanna put on my bike the pad needs rebuilt but if 5hwre going to be made again that will be sweet
@@MotoredLife Do the fatbike tires/wheels feel more stable at high speeds 35-40 mph VS a standard cheap Walmart 26 x 2 in motorized bike/wheels? ....If you add some tire slime or RideOn tire self balancer & puncture sealant to the inner tube. The tire/wheel will self balance itself at high speeds and won't vibrate, similar to a balanced car or motorcycle tire.
I entered to win a 750w electric fat bike, If I won I wanted to make it to a gas/electric hybrid....Was gonna relocate the battery pack from the frame center and mount a 2 stroke engine kit in.. The cops in Iowa are pricks about motorized bikes, I'll use the gas engine to ride the back roads and electric for in town. If I see a cop coming, I can shut the engine off, switch to electric and start to pedal.
Damn good video bro
New sub
Hey Alex is it going you don't know me but I'm kind of a fan I live here in Superior Arizona I'm a little bit of a building myself that phanom is sweet I got a a cherry Schwinn stingray I was going to put a motor on maybe you could give me some pointers...? Thanks
I ordered my to Australia no tracking nothing are they legit???
Big question here how thick is your baseplate on the stihl ms440 cylinder bike
No base plate. 1mm off case, 1mm off cylinder, 1mm off piston. Looking for .5mm squish
@@MotoredLife thank you so 3mm removed all together
If im not mistaken!
@@MotoredLife thank you big help after i heal up from shoulder surgery im building a ms440 topend engine been wanting to for a long time theres just no information on baseplate thickness that i could find so huge help thank you so much
What happened to the thumb throttle link
YO good video man!
There is only one engine that would suit that frame and that is a two stroke. I think the four bangers are far to bulky.
A built predator 79cc could be a sleeper build
If you're going to spend all that time and money might as well just go 212cc for a few more dollars.
She looks beautiful 😎
I paid $500 for my yellow phatmoto brand new. I was an early adopter. $900-$1000 is too much for that bike.
i wonder if you can add a window piston a reed valve
💯
Hey Alex nice bike you got there
That's sessy 👌🏼🤙🏼
Isaac Jeanette's bike is!
What’s the max speed?
30ish
@@MotoredLife bet ima buy one
For a rookie like me 25 mph is good,,don't need faster! To get hurt !!
I've got a fat Moto and want all bottom end pulling power. I think I'm going to go with a 70 or 72 rear sprocket the Phat Moto stock has a 52 rear sprocket. Has anyone went with a big rear sprocket on any other motorized bike?
If you want a better celeration and better torque for the tour cover on the bike you'd be better off with it
can you post a link for the exuast?
Does anyone know if this is legal to ride in NY or SC???
I don't think so actually
At sports has exhaust for the phatmoto
Ar sports
I want one so bad
Yes, because zero cost for insurance and gas is like less than 2$ a week.

Sounds like a tank.
Gasbikes aka kingsdingaling ling sent me a used, leaking oil, gas tank with rusted post and dented to high hell, it took so long and they charged me an extra 90 shipping thru fed ex. Who did not show up to do the return.
Damn that sucks bro, I haven't had any bad experiences shopping online but that is one of my deepest fears. I like physically seeing what I'm buying. Sorry that happened bro
Very nice bike but not worth a grand your better off building a custom frame and buying a 212cc 4stroke you could do it for 700 easy
For $1000 I’ll take a Honda Grom clone.
Had one and a sold it. Cops hate to much with that bike
