- It’s a crisis that is hardly registering in international media. Villages in the far south of #Madagascar are suffering from extreme hardship and famine due to raids by bandits, climate change and weak government.
In Madagascar, 1.5 million people are enduring the worst food shortage in ten years. The reason: a drought has persisted for the last 100 years. In the southernmost part of the island, the situation is especially precarious because the villagers are being terrorised by the "Dahalo", a group of armed bandits. They steal the livestock and leave the people with nothing to eat despite roots and locusts. You hear the word "kere" hear often, it means "hunger". As early as October 2020, pictures of emaciated children began appearing online. Despite a personal visit from Madagascar's president, the situation continues to worsen. People are dying here everyday because the aid they receive from the government and relief organisations is not enough. So, the villagers need to rely on themselves, spending their days hungry and in fear of the "Dahalo".

The unfortunate part is that the money we give in donations doesn't even reach them most of the time... It is a business for many organizations..

Why many of them have many children in the middle of poverty?
They probably don't think about that or marriage is seen as something very important
If you're a person who farms for subsistence, having children is seen as labor for farming. More kids = more labor for farming. It looks backwards because you're probably commenting from a country which has already went through industrialization and therefore there's no need to do this.
Even in the most uneducated regions of Latin America, people say it's cruel to bring children to this world when you can't afford to feed them well & sent them to schools.
Even in the countryside of North Korea with famine, they say it's NOT the right time to bring children to the world.
The average number of children in North Korea is 1 child per couple.
It's very common to see couples in 20s & 30s with NO kids because they are planning to have one or two kids LATER when the North Korea somehow gets better.

9:55 "Nuns operate facilities that feed and clothe 3,000 people each day." But they show a man serving food. Are you sure they are nuns? Whoever the people are that are serving food to the poor.... they are heroes but get almost no recognition, not even their name is given! If we had a name, maybe we could send them a donation to help to feed these people! This video failed to show how we could help.

Those distributing food also need to supply information on how not to get pregnant, because apparently they do not know -- if you have seven very starving children, why have another --
Or they could supply operations so they would no longer get pregnant this would seriously help with the future starvation problems!
