    Excellent video with lots of catching on the SPJ. I just recently purchased a Shimano 1501 HG Custom F reel and it looks like a fish catching machine. We have been bringing SPJ’ing to the Florida Keys for about 2 years now and have posted quite a few videos of SPJ’ing here in Florida on RUclips. We look forward to trying SPJ on the west coast someday. Thanks for an informative video and greetings from Key Largo, Florida. - Captain Dan & Elizabeth

    I find it funny how the mate said he doesn’t like the jigs he’s uncomfortable with them yet he sees you reeling in fish after fish after fish. You were really slaying them. I don’t care what I have to change. If I see somebody being successful I’ll try it.

    Such a great video and so much to learn! You are many years ahead of most fishermen in america. This technique is nothing new in Asia but it’s unheard of by most fishermen in america…. I know in a few years, most people will be fishing slow pitch technique like the bucktail rigs.

    Thanks for the video. for SPJ I brought the amethyst LEVIATHAN Palmarius 2 power 150- 400gr 7'2" and shimano Ocea Jigger F Custom 2001 NFG, attempting to come west coast to fish out of Redondo beach. Learned much esp jig gram to depth, if they want 80 gr drop down, despite the rating on the rod 100 -150gr is a good gauge to start in 150' water. Your technique doesn't look exhausting, or taxing

    Great video! You mentioned, perhaps in a previous video how great tasting Chuckle heads are, and I totally agree. Boy you really wacked them. It was very generous to go for boat limits after you had caught your limit. But, aren't you tempted to which to bait and catch a limit of White fish?

    Would you recommend the M Game Slow J for 50-120' of water? Like the rod but think it may be too powerful for constantly using 80-120 gram jigs. Debating on this vs a temple reef setup

      Those are pretty consistent. but overall the water condition changes so much here that you have to adapt to different depth/current/locations with different types of jigs.

      Thanks

    • @JimFanFishing
      @JimFanFishing  3 года назад +1

      @@DownloaderVideo That's probably worth a video by itself :) :) Overall I think both are very capable rods, with game type slow J more user-friendly to beginners/intermediate jiggers. The length of innovate will probably help if I go out on a long-range trip, but not so critical for day-trips on rockfishing, so I actually prefer the length of game type slow J. Innovate has slower action, but will be overloaded beyond 250grams of jig using basic technique (rod butt between arm and body). I haven't tested the shimano on heavier jigs so far, but I'll let you know once I get to try it out.
